Keynote speech by Piya Samant for Auburn Chamber's 2024 Scholarship Award Breakfast | May 15.
The Auburn Chamber of Commerce awarded scholarships to local graduating seniors at this year's annual breakfast event. Our guest speaker is Piya Samant ​⁠​⁠‪@piyasamant‬ , local artist and ​⁠‪@WPI‬ graduate.

Artist Bio:​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
Born and raised in India, Piya Samant now lives and paints in the awe-inspiring Worcester county in Massachusetts. Piya received an MBA and a Masters of Science in IT & Ops from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. After pursuing a career in Technology, she picked up the brush again in 2014 and commenced her full-time art practice.
Piya's paintings are characterized by colorful, light-filled canvases in a painterly style. Her work is exhibited in museums and galleries across USA. As a self-taught artist, Piya has learned art techniques by observing artworks of Master artists. She is represented by PXP Contemporary gallery.
In 2023, Piya received a Worcester Arts Council / American Rescue Plan grant to further her painting endeavors.

'As an artist, I am driven by the fleeting beauty of life, from humans to flora and fauna. Through my paintings, I seek to immortalize my subjects in their entirety, capturing not only their physical features but also their character and essence. I connect with people through body language more than words. Floral still lifes offer me the chance to project my emotions onto flowers with light and brushstrokes. My art celebrates the transient beauty of nature and the enduring power of creativity.
