I think the concept of 'warning shot' limits is definitely a thing that happens. A few years back in the TCG, they limited Halqifibrax to 1 when, similar to S:P, almost no decks ran more than 1 despite the fact that it was everywhere, so the limit was functionally pointless. And then the card got banned in the following list. They've done this song and dance before.
The pile decks would run two Halq. Not that this makes the limit any more of a headscratcher though. Much like S:P here, why would you hit (read: lightly graze) exactly one deck that's running multiple of a card that's a format-warping power card in every deck capable of making one?
At least with Halq some decks would occasionally run more than 1 for a potential turn 3 even if none of them needed to run more than 1 meanwhile almost nobody would ever bother running 3 SP.
I played 2 Halq in Infernoble at that time cuz i needed it for the combo. It made infernoble slightly worse but i don't remember why you actually needed the second copy tbh
In game where the Devs talk to the player about the banlist they sometime say things like "we're keeping an eye on [strong card]", I could see the SP to 2 be the Devs that don't talk about the banlist version of that
Snake-Eyes Diabellstar is the new Albaz/Visas lore archetype. They want to sell it and they will be releasing support and new archetypes related to it like Goblin (which was dissapointing) but others could be better. So it makes little sense to kill the deck.
Realistically theyve probably sold their sets over there. if the deck has been insanely strong over there for ages (longer than weve had it here), then why are you saying theres little insentive? having a happy playerbase for little cost sounds like a win to me if they had a harder hit.
Summon sorceress is a card that will always play into the 5+ condition Especially with the errata She summons two more cards with the effect and is a link 3... 99% if the combos chat will suggest will always play into nib because that's the nature of sorceress
OCG Snake-Eye basically is similar to Master Duel's current Snake-Eye decks now. They lost 3 starters, but also have 3 Bonfires to make up for it. It will still be a dominant deck as it currently is in Master Duel.
The deck is very susceptible to hand traps in MD though. I’ve opened many a hand where I’ve been forced to normal summon a hand trap and fire off OSS and just hope they don’t have Ash. Hell even just stopping SE Ash with an Ash, Imperm, or Veiler can be turn ending if they don’t have OSS or the Diabelstar engine in hand to continue extending. Really crazy how not having a 3 of ROTA hits the consistency enough that the deck becomes noticeably more susceptible to hand traps. Doesn’t help that the deck just absolutely can’t play under Maxx C. Your standard combo lines will give your opponent a quarter of their deck extra to use so you’re often stuck ending on functionally nothing.
@@dariuspenner2528 I don't think the deck is that bad against handtraps. More often than not, I open a SE ash or a Populus and part of the Diabellestar package or OSS. The deck benefits from having so many starters and opening multiple. Also, (and this part isn't a justification of the deck, just sharing my personal experience) I find that one of the best plays into a maxx C is setting up the field spell with Flamberge in backrow + I:P. That'll give them 2 or 3 draws at most and allows some level of interruption, not to mention Flamberge's grave effect on the opponent's turn swarms the board, slowing down an OTK
@@harrya9458 Yeah, a lot of the power isn't necessarily the deck's ability to play around hand traps, but instead the fact that it can play so many hand traps and other non-engine. If a game becomes throwing hand traps to disrupt each other until something gets through, snake eyes will often win those. Also the Sinful Spoils Silvera trap is another way the deck can play around Maxx "C".
