I had the same thought process for the square riddle, except I didn't make it all the way through and had to take a help card. Upon seeing the instruction card again here, I just realized that the last line about the corners was also instructions for what to do after putting the square on the book page. Sometimes I guess I just need to reread things a few times. I think answer card 24 is probably the most cruel of all the wrong answer cards in Exit so far.
Thank you so much! That's very kind of you, and we're delighted you're enjoying our videos! We just recorded the next one so there are definitely more on the way! :)
It's so fun watching you both solve these! I am really enjoying the series so far. Loved that little square puzzle near the end. These games are really clever!
They really are clever, aren't they? I'm genuinely in awe of the people who make the Exit the Game products because somehow they've managed to continue to keep things fresh for soooo many titles in the series, as well as the Advent calendars too. And I'm so glad you're enjoying the videos too - we're having a lot of fun making them, and I hope to carry on doing so for a good while yet! I have a lot of games stockpiled for them too... :)
This one is definitely one of my favorites. Everything seemed logical and so inventive. What a little gem. I then played Pharaoh which seemed bland (some of the puzzles already in the lab and the cabin were revisited, but also some cool things). The Temple puzzle was sometimes very surprising, and the Catacombs were nice too. I can't wait to see you play the next one
Thank you so much for your comments and I’m really glad you enjoyed it! We’re having fun solving them and it’s interesting to compare the older and newer (in future videos) Exit games!
I always enjoy the Exit the Room games - most of the puzzles feel well-balanced, although there's usually one per box that I think is a little unfair. *SPOILER FOLLOWS:* In this one it's the ruler one - there isn't really much in the way of specific hints that you should study the back of the game book so carefully! There are so many ways you could be finding a value and I think it does need more of an in-game (pre-hint) nudge.
@@drgareth so true. the mysterious island was quite a painful challenge for me. there were several puzzles there that I just couldn't work out how to do them. Its like I needed to be telepathic to guess. Such a situation isn't so satisfying. this one wasn't too bad but that ruler was pretty well hidden! lots of fun, thanks again.
Yes, I reckon we'd find things easier by and large if we laid everything out without overlapping all the time - but then it would end up too small on the camera so it's a compromise between being able to watch along and actually being able to solve the thing in the first place! :)
33:40 is why you should put back the answer cards in the deck. I would have put that riddle far later in the game if I was the constructor. I believe you had removed a few cards which made it harder.
No, all the cards were in the deck - I am really fastidious about putting the answer cards back, funnily enough. It's lucky Laura could read the numbers since I struggled. :)
Thanks for watching, and thanks for the recommendation! We definitely will - it's been sitting on the shelf here for a while, so we will get round to it at some point hopefully soon! :)
If the yeti (assuming that's who it is) *really* wanted you to stay there forever, they'd clearly make the puzzles unsolvable. Or just not give you any puzzles in the first place, like most kidnappers 😂 Also...I thought it was Gen Z who were supposed to be bad at reading clocks 🤣
Haha... glad it's not just me! I know 'araf' is the Welsh for 'slow' (since it's printed on the roads), but didn't know 'aros'. I grew up in Wales, although we left when I was 10, but they didn't teach any Welsh at my school. Since 1990 I think it's been compulsory - shame I predated that!

Answer Card 24 is savage!! I'm still not over it 🤣 thanks for watching, and hope you enjoyed the playthrough!
These games are so cool, i loved the code on the back of the cards, that was really unique
I love watching you two. You're both so brilliant and genuine. Can't wait for the next one.

@@drgareth yay! Can't wait to see which one you do next.

Some nifty little puzzles in this one. 🎯

Covering up all the clues for the Dream island at 27:50 was perhaps not a good move? 🙂
Good thing Laura was there to rectify that mistake a minute later.

you should also make a video of the gate between worlds

Great

Weirdly, I also played Countdown with the AROS cards, only i kept it as aros which is the Welsh word verb to stay/to wait. 🤷♂️
Yes, the stories don't really make much sense but as you say my clock-reading was BAAAAAD! :) Lack of practice, clearly!

I bought the sinister mansion and played along with you. Is cheating if I got one answer from your video instead of the answer cards? Lol
Definitely not cheating! :) You can pause the video more easily than you can avoid accidentally seeing the whole answer card, too. Probably. ;)
