  • Should solo female nomads be afraid on the road? Is the RV life dangerous? Is fear holding you back?
We are in beautiful Sedona, Arizona now, dispersed camping in my airstream "Lickety" Boondocking is fun! But fear and anxiety can come up traveling alone. Here I talk about what has helped me cope with solo nomadic life.

Fear is your brains alarm system of a potential problem situation that you don't have a plan for. Exam and understand the fear and develop a plan for how you would deal with the situation if or when it comes up. Practice the plan if you are able. Physical training may be useful. Seek out advice if you don't have confidence in your plan. Knowing what to do when a situation comes up will give you the confidence in yourself and your ability to deal with it. That confidence will replace your fear and anxiety.

Great message. So true… most solo women on the road hear these fear based messages. I don’t pay them any mind. Keep rolling!

The is John from CC37 with the 3 legged dog. Enjoy your videos including this one. They pop up on my TH-cam feed as soon as you release them.
Just to keep it really, while camping with a lot of CC37 group. I was robbed and the driver of the getaway car fired his weapon 12 ft from me. I assumed I was hit. He fired at the ground but at night it was impossible to see the direction. When he fired I screamed. He assumed the bullet hit a rock and a fragment hit me. That was totally possible.
Many in my group were a witness to this yet when later interviewed by Bob Wells they either did not admit to some risks of this lifestyle, or it was edited it out.
So your advice in this video is good, but still be vigilant - like you said.

What I learned from this event is never come out of you rig to investigate a disturbance. Had I came out of my rig with a weapon in my hand, the burglar would have probably shot me. So, stay in your rig and do not defend property. If someone steals your stuff, buy it again. Much cheaper.

Your Puppy is a great part of your self defense plan! Practicality does dictate that you should have some form of self defense that will even your odds for survival because bad things do happen to good people. Suggest a 22 rifle (perhaps a Ruger) with a clip load as I believe they are legal in all 50 states. Be safe young Lady and never ignore your instincts! Good travels to you and your Pup!!
