Flex Paste WINS and prevents infestation from reoccurring by sealing off any small or large holes that could possibly give rodents entryways into your home. Thanks for such a Flextastic Flex Paste review! 💪
that’s what i thought the test was going to be, it probably would’ve been more efficient honestly. like if you have a mouse hole at home would that be enough to cover it
I'll bet if you were to fill the hole with steel wool then used the flex paste to keep it in place that would do amazingly. Probably have to use less paste that way.
I would recommend copper mesh instead of steel wool; many Rodents will still chew thru steel wool while the taste of copper is very off-putting to Them.
When I saw the black flex paste over the hole, it brought back memories of Road Runner cartoons when Wile E. Coyote would paint a black tunnel entrance on the side of the cliff. That's just how my mind works.
Doesn't matter. Electrical wire gets wrecked all the time. It's only a matter of time before there is a breach. Galvanized steel is going to last the longest. The bigger the gauage, the better.
@@stonent I thought that too but they seemed to chew mostly in the middle of the paste over open part so that kinda proves they knew there was a hole under.
Had a mouse problem at work, pest control came in and tried to use foam to fill gaps outside that they were getting in through, areas around utilities coming through the walls and places where the foundation was cracked. Foam is apparently tasty. What I did is make a giant syringe out of pvc pipe and a dowel and injected concrete into the holes. Works great.
@@godschild5587 - Where do you come up with the 99% figure, "God's Child?" How about Europeans? Asians? And remember Mathew 7:1-2 "Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again."
One (possibly the main) reason why these pastes work is that they completely block airflow, and therefore smell, so the rats don't waste any time with that location. If you leave just a small hole in the middle, they'll probably at least _try_ to get through it (and I suspect they will be able to).
That's good to know. I'm in pest control and I watched the mice and rats try it and I was waiting for the squirrels thinking they would go through it like butter. I was surprised that they didn't. I suspect it tastes really bad. Was it still gooey in the middle where they chewed it? I know birds don't like stuff that's sticky.
It could be the taste. it could also be that's it's flexible, making it hard for the rodents to get a good grip on it with their teeth. They're probably much better at hard surfaces with little to no give and the flex paste is just too flexible for them.
I thought it was a no-brainer. Rodents can't get through a surface, however soft, that their teeth can't get a purchase on. It would be difficult even with a pair of blunt-nose pliers. What did surprise me is that neither squirrel nor an army of rats went long enough--weeks--at that wood edge.
@MegaCarboman Your absolutely right that they will get out. But that changes the behavior from just food driven to survival driven. It's not really the same experiment.
I believe rats have very poor eyesight. However, their sense of smell is extraordinary. I imagine, a petroleum based product might deter their sense of smell, especially with a screened hole nearby which attracts them more to the prize.
I think the reason they went for the mesh instead of the paste was because they 1.can actually see the seeds 2. Are probably used to being able to manipulate mesh easier than what looks like a solid wall 3. Dont like the taste of the paste.
I think I would’ve made a trap and then have the flex seal covered hole the only way to get out to truly see if it would work, because if they’re trapped and are panicking to get out, that’s a completely different story rather than blocking them.
Shawn Woods , How about Flex Paste Clear? I suspect the Flex Paste black is blocking off the view of it to some animal so the chew mark isn't as many as the wire has
Entertaining video, but I'm not sure this proves 100%. I'd be very curious to see the opposite experiment: If the rat was trapped in the box, could it chew through flex paste to get out?
We have used flex paste for several repairs. The biggest repair was our broken wheel barrow. The bottom got cracked by a rock being dropped in it. We used about a quarter of a container and it's fixed and holds water.
Hello shawn could u do a video using cintronella oil to see if it works then try peppermint oil. Thanks I have rodent problem trying to keep from paying exterminator.
I was enjoying my birds today at the feeder and low and behold a darn mouse house mouse climbed the pole too the food ! Now to set traps at bird feeder!
I bought the Flex Seal tape and had to return it, it didn't fix the leak in my hose and was hard to work with. It's like human fly paper! I bet it would make a great sticky trap!
