Chris, I am new to your channel and I have really enjoyed your videos so far. I love my Br03's. I started upgrading my system shortly after buying them, moving up from a used Yamaha YP-D6 and an AS701 integrated to a Rega P6 and an Elix-R integrated amp. I still haven't upgraded my speakers as I haven't found any yet that sound significantly better. I think Triangle really did a great job with these.

Thanks so much for introducing us to these speakers. I was looking for a secondary set of speakers for my office that were smaller and after seeing your video did a bunch more research. I ended picking up an open box in mint condition for $305. I can't believe how amazing they are and how much they punch above their weight class. I was also looking at teh comete series too from them, but these are going to be way enough. I've got them paired with a Sansui AU-555a and it's like they were made to go together.

Thank you so much, Chris, for this review! I loved the demo I got while visiting Crescendo Fine Audio and would really like to have these speakers! I really appreciate your insight!!!
What has worked for me having Triangles is not to toe in until they are broken in. I have higher end ones that say to tow in but that took some time. Any centering that was present got smeared by highs. Stereo panning was exaggerated and annoying. Straight out all of this was far far less fatiguing and really nice but you knew something was left to shine (at least for my American ears) After that break the center was clear with really nice depth and the highs were fantastic - lively and exciting. Just my 2 cents. Great video! (I’m also team horns low powered amps so I have a bias and have patience enjoy waiting for that sound to dial in. I use an alto sax to measure break in on tubes, amps and speakers. I’m a freak)
I would also add while I am a more jazz & lighter rock listener when I play the soundtrack from Blade Runner 2049 with the Taiko drums the Bro3s I think do a great job at reproducing them. In fact the first time I played that track at 10 feet away I could feel the air being pushed towards me by the speakers, felt like a breeze coming through the house. Personally, I had both the ELACs & these in my home to see which to buy & for me there was no contest.

Great review thanks, I am so tempted to try a pair of these speakers. Has anyone paired them with a Uniti Star? My man cave is 15ft x 7ft. Many thanks.
So I bought the BR02 about a year ago, and I found it to be veiled and dark sounding with not much clarity in the upper mid range or treble. Cheap audio man had a review of the speakers, and he felt the same way. And almost all other reviewers have mentioned that the bass is quite good and deep for the size of the speakers. So hearing you saying that the bass is not as deep and the treble and midrange are bright, just doesn’t seem consistent with my experience or the other reviewers. They are on sale for $319 now. I loved the fit and finish of the smaller brother of the speaker so I suspect the same exact high-quality fit and finish for this one but I’m afraid that the midrange and treble will be veiled for my taste.
Well, the BR03 isn't the BR02 and every person I've talked with about the 03 feels very similar to me in its sound performance. Take that for what you will.
I'm really interested in these as well and I'm sure I've seen the same conflicting reviews. It could be that they take weeks and not hours to break in and/or it could be a QC/material source difference in a manufacturing run owing to COVID or... anything else. I haven't checked into this so have no idea if it's true but in another channel/thread it was pointed out that the negative reviews were clustered around the light oak finished ones. Anyway, they're down to $370 now so I'm going to pull the trigger on a Walnut pair... and in a surprising turn of events I'll be able to compare them to the Wharfedale Diamond 12.2's that just turned up. $450, open box. I'm not sure if I can get them far enough out from my walls, and still out of the wya to tame the bass resonance but I thought I'd try at that price.
@@Alex-io6ky I fell in love with the Wharfedales and stopped searching! I paid $450 for a pair in their outlet and I can listen to these things all day.
Hey Vinyl Attack........................................ As a Marshall user, a musician & ubiquitous stand mount/subwoofer advocate, I ask why you would not propose an alternative to the subwoofer knee-jerk solution? They do exist. Some potential buyers may not be using these for electronic dance music, some types of pipe organ music or as home theater effects. This frequent buyer is one that is purchasing speakers to playback music comprised of non-synthetic instrument based music. For them, getting to 15Hz is not only unimportant but doesn't exist at all in the recordings they play. For a myriad of reasons, the objective is really about getting to about 40Hz flat. Equally important isn't just how low, but how well they sound up higher to blend with the next driver. With cone midrange's to around 250Hz & compression horn midrange's to about 800Hz. SubWoofers do a terrible job, if at all, with these desired ranges. For the alternative, I recommend extending the bass with drivers of similar design & construction. In this case, paper cone woofers which have an acoustic quality such as this 9:29 . Specifically, add a pair of Marshall 1X15 passive bass cabinets with a simple passive 2-way crossover. At about $300 bucks each, they'll be very competitive to a Sub's price and there's no need to buy stands for the stand mounts. Now, there is a stereo pair of LF drivers which will do a far, far superior job at blending with the Bro's and maintaining the tonal qualities of instruments all the way down. Acid Jazz, Funk & Brass 🔈🔉🔊
I just tried contacting the manufacturer. Let's see if they respond. I've been emailing and phone messaging the Montreal distributor, Motet, for the past couple of months about replacing a BR03 woofer at my cost and they have not replied to me. If you're buying this in Canada, don't expect a swift response at all when after sales service is required.
Hmmm maybe im too new to speakers but the BR03 has alot of characteristics that a good headphone should have. But yes from listening to my friends system i can understand why you would say its lacking bass as there isnt much upper bass bloat giving extra body to the sound. Personally i feel that the BR03 could use some silver in the system and clean sounding tubes to tame the bass a tad to bring it more in line with the vocals. Otherwise i could live with this until the 2022 comete comes out(hopefully with as little delay as possible) and bring it in line with the borea tuning esp the high end being so nicely done so that you can get soaring vocal extension.
Or you could get a mono cartridge. Jokes aside, these speakers are now available as the Borea BR03 BT with built in 2-channel amplifier: rather more expensive tho'.
That's a pretty broad range, so there are a host of options available. I'd probably look at amps that have a slightly warmer sound to balance out the top end of the Bro 3.
I purchased these and the Cambridge Audio AXR85, using the Fluance RT85. I'm not sure, or looking for advice, that the BR03 and AXR85 are a good match. I was wondering if you had any advice on this pairing. I have come to the conclusion that I'm not as great at hearing music as I thought. Considering Fleetwood Mac album Rumors, the copy I have Is the clear one from Walmart. I read everywhere that it's simply a terrible recording. I think it sounds amazing. I would like your opinion on the pairing of these two. Love your reviews!! Keep up the great work.
Unfortunately I haven't heard the two together so I can't really say. Besides, your opinion is the one that matters here. If you're not hearing what you like, you might want to look at something else.
I've had my pair for about 9 months. Before I bought them I watched and read all the reviews I could find. I haven't watched a review of them in awhile. Now that I'm very comfortable with these speakers I really enjoyed your review. I like all your videos and was very happy to hear you talk about something I own. I agree with pretty much everything you said, and two things in particular. Break in time. It was about 3 weeks for me, and worth the wait. Anyone interested in the BR03's needs to take that into consideration. Secondly, the music I listen to most is jazz, and it shines on these. Although I agree with you on the bass, I feel it could be quicker on these, but tonaly I love their bass. I actually have mine out around a meter from the back wall, and found that tightened up the bass, although made it less strong, but I do have them paired to a subwoofer and am very happy. Once again, great review.
I also think the sound on my pair has improved over time, but even in those first few days, they were fantastic. For me the bass is just fine as they are. I'm very happy with them.
Great fo Jazz listening. Absolutely; at least in connection with a Cyrus amp/Cyrus components. NOT so good for listening to "loud" music. Tool or Mastodon over these? No! These speakers are so good; they will become a classic and I will buy another pair. Thanks.
Ha! I used to have that same t-shirt. I sold mine at my store just last week because it was an "Asian" fit and even an XL was too tight for my fat body.

Am I hearing you correctly? A company that responds rapidly, helpfully and kindly to a person who wishes to review their product on-line is, in all probability, going to be the same with customers who have issues with their product. I'm not questioning Triangle's integrity, but apparently you haven't flown by commercial airlines recently or purchased items which have developed issues.

How about clasic rock ??
@@NsteveA any thoughts after listening to both speakers ?
@@Alex-io6ky I fell in love with the Wharfedales and stopped searching! I paid $450 for a pair in their outlet and I can listen to these things all day.
most reviewers think the sound is the opposite of veiled: Bright and forward

Another informative and entertaining video. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it.
Contact centre hi-fi instead . I got mines from them and I have a superb customer service
I'm using a small Fender guitar amp to play my turntable. Iiiiiii should probably get some speakers
You'll be glad you did.
Or you could get a mono cartridge.
Jokes aside, these speakers are now available as the Borea BR03 BT with built in 2-channel amplifier: rather more expensive tho'.
Could you suggest some amplifiers in 500-1000$ to pair with Br03.
@@thevinylattack thanks for the advice. I want to try the Bellari VP130 before I change anything.
@@SHAVEFAN71 I've heard good things about it.
I'm glad you liked it. I know I'm far from the first to get to these speakers in a review, but I still very much enjoyed it.
I also think the sound on my pair has improved over time, but even in those first few days, they were fantastic. For me the bass is just fine as they are. I'm very happy with them.
I can't believe are you for real😊
@ 7:07..... nylon string vs. steel string guitar. Acoustic Alchemy album "Red Dust and Spanish Lace" you will thank me later
Great fo Jazz listening. Absolutely; at least in connection with a Cyrus amp/Cyrus components. NOT so good for listening to "loud" music. Tool or Mastodon over these? No! These speakers are so good; they will become a classic and I will buy another pair. Thanks.
I pretty much feel the same.
Ha! I used to have that same t-shirt. I sold mine at my store just last week because it was an "Asian" fit and even an XL was too tight for my fat body.
It does have a bit of a funny fit. It'll probably make its way into my 'lounging around the house' category.
@@thevinylattack I got mine on eBay a few years ago. It was very long and fairly big around the bottom, but extremely tight under my arms and across chest. Maybe it was a manternity shirt?
@@TheAgeOfAnalog Mine fits roughly the same, although not as tight. It's just not a flattering look.
Reviews on this are split !
4 minutes of disclaimers, is there a review in here somewhere? Review starts at 6m43s.
It looks like you answered your own question.
@@thevinylattack That's because I'm awesome.
Les Freres Trois? No matter what you call it, the Triangles speak music fluently.
I quite like them myself.
how bout french fries?
No thanks, I just had a sandwich.
You trying to pronounce French stuff, being a native english speaker does not 'ruin' anything. What, you don't think the french ever pronounce english words, perhaps incorrectly? Are they ruining our precious english? Obviously not, quit being so sensitive.
. Exactly. I said the same thing to a Reviewer after he spent 4 minutes apologizing for their chinese pronunciations. Ridiculous & Scary on so many levels.

If you had the experience I've had with talking to companies and product reviews, you'd know it's a big deal. I stand by what I said as I'm certain Triangle stands behind their product.
got rid of these. easily confused by anything more than a few instruments. awful.
