I've used all of the DNA sources and they are all different. I'm 97% discovered and 3% undiscovered on Ancestory. Partly Ethiopian on MyDNA, and this one told me I'm 100% English.
I'm certain we have no idea what we are doing when it comes to this stuff.

Kerberos is a Greek pronunciation of a pre-Greek word word meaning “spotted”.
Hades, god of the dead, brother to Zeus, son of Kronos has a dog named spot…

    What a good boy!!!
I was glad to see you add the fur lining, not for aesthetics, but for comfort. The stiff leather could cause chafing and sores if he wears it without padding, same as if a human wears stiff leather garments without a cloth layer underneath. If you want to use this in summer when it's too hot for the fur layer I would recommend you make a cloth lining to replace the fur. Maybe you could model it like a saddle blanket for a war horse to keep with the theme.

Okay, but it IS so damn cute....I had Norse garb for my pet hen. Not armor; but embroidered linen, with amber beads. leather belt with buckle, small bronze thor's hammer, and to top it off, a sword made from a yarn needle; handle wrapped leather, and a pommel topped with a tiny bone human scull. (And a teensy bottle filled with mead.) Made a scabbard of leather, and attached it to the belt. She attended many events in Caid. (Escondido Renn Faire, The Potrero War) She knew when she saw people in garb that it was time to play! She put the whole attitude on with the outfit! I don't know how many people, who passing our tent with a "guard chicken" asked if that was SAFE..... One answer. Opposable thumbs. She is comfortable and confident in her garb, but NO she can't use the sword.......She has the ATTITUDE as though she can! She loved the pets and attention and got used to being addressed by her NAME, not as "my chicken" She passed at 6. It still breaks my heart to hear "EGGNOG????" from across the event as I enter. I'm okay they don't remember MY name, she was more special. I just miss her. Your dog is going to have a LOT of fun!!!!!!

9:45 I know, old video, but if anyone happens to see this comment take a look at the bottom left edge of the pebbler stamp.
If you slowly rotate it as you stamp along, it creates a more randomized look, and with the larger stamps you can even lean it around a bit to make slightly different looks for every smack of the hammer!
Repeating patterns can look good though, like here it's very evenly spaced, so I think it works quite well!

  • @Trollzey

Chicago screws with a backing washer and loctite is a great way to achieve the same look as a rivet with a smooth and sturdy backing that you won't worry about popping like a rapid rivet.

I doubt it would be a huge issue, but you may want to consider adding a permanent, soft lining on the inside of the armor if you plan on prolonged use. It's obviously not as heavy duty as a horse saddle, but those typically have blankets and soft linings to help with sweat absorption and to protect from chafing.

For the fur I would recommend to stitch a folded one inch wide strap of thin leather around the border to protect the fur from fraying and to enhance the longevity of the piece.

In regards to you mentioning D&D, in Tasha's Cauldron of Everything, there's a system for sidekicks. In my campaign, we only have two players, so we each have animal sidekicks that level up with us for balancing purposes. We each have flying animals, but you could easily do that with a dog if your DM agrees to it.

You should totally make bearded dragon armor! I would love to see my "scaly dog" Rosa in some. She was a rescue - morbidly obese and severely malnourished when I got her. She is doing great (7 years old now) but has some issues due to her horrible first year of life and in-breeding. I love her to the moon!

I made my dog some plate barding for Halloween once. Just her head, chest, and hind quarters. She was such a good girl she actually wore it. Once. She refused to let me put it on her ever again. I did the leather harness in a similar fashion, but not as cool. I get wanting to armor your pup!

Of course I see this now...I've already messed around with aluminum "armor" for a friend's MASSIVE DOGGOS (English mastiff and cane corso)...both of them have maille "shirts" (barding) and, because he loves dressing up, I made bat-wing "pauldrons" for the mastiff...he's the sweetest, gentlest dog around but he's so huge that, fully armored, he looks more than a little intimidating to most folks.

  • @bjornronaldson6017

My longest running DnD character had a giant (I'm talking the size of a war horse) wolf companion who became her mount. I ended up totally changing her build to synergize more with the beast. Everyone in our party had an animal companion, come to think of it.... Point being yes, you are a fool if you do not attempt to have a furry (or scaled) companion in your fantasy game life.

The strap that goes over the shoulder and in front is too far back. It will restrict the movement and will chaff after a while.
The best way to do it is just like a harness. Have a triangular chast piece with a longer "point/tail" running down the belly with one strap on each short point that connects to the back plate, best a segmented style for proper spine movement. Then, have a strap T style strap that is connected to the end of the long point with buckles that connect to the last segment of the spine protector. You can have a strap on either side in the middle of the triangle that connects to one of the middle segments for a more conforming fit as well as some side plates that's segmented and connects to the last strap.
You should take into account that a dog's spine has a larger range of motion than a human spine and is able to flex and deflex to a higher degree and the armor should take that into account and be more of a banded leather/metal design like the old Roman armor more then that of European plate armor.

  • @SilentSooYun
    @SilentSooYun ปีที่แล้ว

6:54 That's why you need a familiar or a homunculus or a Paladin steed, because then if they get hurt they just _poof_ away until you call them again
The final product looks totally awesome! But... it also looks like it might be interfering with his neck a little? Like his neck is rubbing so he can't lift his head as easily? I know we only got a little glimpse, and maybe it's the pelt making the harness look bigger than it is, it just seems like more of a scoop neck would be more comfortable. Oh, and one more (maybe smaller?) leather "leaf" extending the armour down his adorable little spine for maximum badassery

Nice. If you do a lot of tooling you can save time by combining a beveling tool with a dremel engraver. Just cut the s off, about an inch from the tip and then put it in the engraver. You might need to reduce the “handle” a little bit to make it fit in the dremel but it works great once you get it all to fit and get used to using it.

I’m wondering how to incorporate my bestest girl’s LED harness into something like this. An Eldritch fire vibe. And my bestest girl, Raven, could be your goodest boi’s sister, minus the white. Keep doing great projects!
