@@vm2003 The Warsaw ghetto uprising didn't cause the Holocaust, it happened halfway through the Holocaust. It happened because the Nazis made a conscious decision to kill every Jew they could get their hands on, not only including but *especially* the children.

I've yet to see any criticism on TYT about how both Hamas and Hezbollah won't be satisfied until Israel ceases to exist. It's in their charters, so how is peace possible if these terror organizations won't accept Israel existing? Furthermore, I've yet to see any criticism from TYT about how both Hamas and Hezbollah use civilians as shields. Despite this, TYT sees Israel being on the same level as these terror organizations.

He reduces everything to occupation. How can he keep claiming that the occupation is the sole issue, when you consider the extremely hostile rhetoric from Arabs towards Israel prior to the Six-Day War, i.e., prior to the occupation?
      Examples:
“Our basic objective will be the destruction of Israel. The Arab people want to fight . . . The mining of Sharm el Sheikh is a confrontation with Israel. Adopting this measure obligates us to be ready to embark on a general war with Israel.” - President Nasser of Egypt, May 27, 1967
“The Arab people is firmly resolved to wipe Israel off the map” - Cairo Radio Station, May 22, 1967
“The existence of Israel is an error which must be rectified. This is our opportunity to wipe out the ignominy which has been with us since 1948. Our goal is clear - to wipe Israel off the map. We shall, God willing, meet in Tel Aviv and Haifa.” - President Abdel Rahman Aref of Iraq, May 31, 1967
“We shall destroy Israel and its inhabitants and as for the survivors - if there are any - the boats are ready to deport them.” - Shukairy, Chairman of the PLO, June 1, 1967, speaking at a Friday sermon in Jerusalem

Cenk's "honest" reporting is like a defense lawyer's 'honest' portayals of their client against the prosecution's case (In this case Israel is the prosecution to beat). The lawyer can't actually lie, they can't actually testify, but they can selectively pick and choose the 'facts' they wish to bring out through testimony to make their case.
Cenk perfectly makes the case for one side of this thing, like a good honest lawyer does for his client ;)

When you drop a bomb on civilian houses and Hamas militants are hiding under the civilian houses, and before dropping the bomb you warn the civilians to leave that area (and let’s not forget that many of those who don’t leave are either Hamas members in civilian clothes, or civilians supporting Hamas), is this wrong? In other words, you can’t attack Hamas anywhere, since it’s been proven that they hide in schools, hospitals, under cemeteries, or in UNRA facilities, while Hamas can launch its rockets from anywhere. (What country warns its enemies in a war where they will be attacked?) Cenk is obviously sad, and he surely wants the Israelis out of the territory from the river to the sea. Or have you forgotten what “from the sea to the river” means?

In the 70s, 80s, and 90s, Middle Eastern countries amassed considerable wealth from oil and gas. Rather than channelling these funds into education, research, and technological advancements to modernize their military, they chose to satisfy their primary customers in the West and embraced extravagant lifestyles. Conversely, Israel leveraged its democratic framework to forge alliances with Western nations and invested heavily in its military and security infrastructure. As a result, Israel is now enjoying the benefits of these investments, with no neighbouring state posing a threat to its security or existence. For Arab nations, the situation may be dire as oil and gas reserves deplete or become obsolete. Their only recourse may be to hope for internal disruptions which can weaken Israel from within.

The reporting of Young Turks about the 2020 conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh was balanced, but clearly favored the Armenian point of view, and was certainly better than the majority of American press coverage. For example, see the Young Turk's show "Armenia-Azerbaijan Conflict Escalating. The History of the Tension in The Caucasus" on Sep. 30, 2020.
Cenk wrote an opinion piece in Nov. 1991 in The Daily Pennsylvanian (a student newspaper) where he denied the 1915 Armenian Genocide, but he has since renounced what he wrote, and done it repeated and publicly. The fact that you say that he "denied Armenian genocide" without telling people that he changed his position shows that you are just trying to smear Cenk and the Young Turks and have no interest in the truth.

It's tough to navigate the Israel-Hamas conflict because both sides have valid points that often get drowned out by the noise of corporate media. Hamas' attacks, like the recent one at a rave, are clear acts of terrorism, and Israel has a right to defend itself. But when the response causes widespread civilian casualties, we need to question if it's going too far. What’s often missing in mainstream media coverage is that many people in places like Gaza, Iran, and Lebanon don’t support groups like Hamas or Hezbollah but are trapped under oppressive governments and militant rule. Blaming them ignores the complex reality of living under regimes where dissent is dangerous. Corporate media tends to "both sides" these conflicts, but The Young Turks Network stands out for actually digging into the truth and holding all sides accountable. They don’t sugarcoat the issues, which is something you rarely see in traditional outlets. The responsibility falls on everyone involved, but we need to recognize the ordinary people caught in the middle without real power to change their situation.

While it's true that Israel's establishment in 1948 involved the displacement of Palestinians, implying that nothing significant has happened since then oversimplifies the issue. Yes, Israel has a complicated and contested history, but that doesn't justify Hamas' recent attacks on civilians, which are acts of terrorism. We can acknowledge the historical grievances while also recognizing that targeting civilians isn't the way forward. Your point touches on a common bias-framing the conflict as if history only started in 1948 or on October 7th. The reality is that both sides have suffered over the years, and glossing over Hamas' violence while focusing only on Israel’s actions misses half the story. Corporate media does tend to "both sides" this issue or focus on sensational headlines without context, but that’s why sources like The Young Turks Network are important. They break down the full history and provide a more balanced view, addressing the real grievances on both sides, rather than sticking to tired narratives. If we want real solutions, we need to stop cherry-picking history and face the entire truth.

I was talking to a friend about this and it's definitely complicated as an American Muslim man of course when Muslims are being attacked and killed it hurts. The land has always been an issue but I think if other countries would have stayed neutral this might be resolved by now. My opinion is when people continuous fight each other eventually they will start questioning themselves and eventually maybe start working out negotiating etc. politicians and politics always make things like this go longer than they have to. The whole thing is just sad 😭😭
