It's the same here in Australia, Stacie... Traditional Australian country music (known as bush ballads here) are no longer played on the radio. Country music is now referred to as "cross over music". Unfortunately, it is more pop than it is country. I miss the story telling values of a good country ballad.
Country Music will survive - we have been truly blessed to live when all these amazing musicans were creating and singing- so many talented artist gifted us with beautiful songs.
