Man, f*ck covid. The fact that we were all (including myself) learning things about this "new" version even though it came out in early 2020. Just shows how much play and tournament time was lost. Hype top 8 still!
I'm new in the competitive scenario so I really don't know anything about any player, so... could someone explain me the context about the cheering from the casters going all to Masoma? Is that because Byakuya is a low tier character? I don't know... at least to me, both players were doing really amazing.
This was super hype! Gotta say, as someone who doesn't know a lot of high level UNI, I'm disappointed at the commentary that is kinda just reacting and shouting to everything, this game has so much combo time where you can explain setups, instead of just keeping quiet and when the setups land screaming "YOOO"...I feel this happens too much on more "niche" games, people are too hyped about seeing their game being played so they lack at explaining why things are happening
Not sure how people still think it makes sense to compare a game that just got out to another game that went through TONS of versions and updates ... seriously ...
@@yagami999913 I'm not talking about gameplay but the visuals. I guess it's because of the characters. Melty is more about regular weapons and melee while UNIEL has all kinds of powers and unique magic stuff like Blazblue.
@@cavendish2925 come on you know damn well that comment will be mainly interpreted as them talking about gameplay 😄 As for the preference for UNI, it probably has to do with Melty Blood being based on an old visual novel. I can definitely understand UNI being more attractive to the public with it's more modern anime direction.
@@yagami999913 Not at all. I immediately understood what he meant when he said "looks better" - I took the word literally. Also in what world are UNI's visuals even considered a modern anime? I don't get it. Just because the characters brandish unusual weapons and magic powers? Personally, I just find UNI characters cooler-looking in comparison to Melty's from a general character design perspective. That's all there is to it. Nothing to do with old vs new anime direction, which is nonsensical as it implies that older anime have nothing like the kind of characters UNI does - nothing could be farther from the truth.
Red blade lost alooooooot of weight good on you man
"We dont mash, it's abare, it's different" Brett the king
This was so hype. Makes me want to pick up UNICLR again but it's annoying not being able to find matches sometimes

because Redblade has been one of the best in NA for quite some time now
Byak is pretty high up there, given his mobility and setplay, extremely dangerous in the right hands
Masoma is a relative "new comer" to the scene and underdog, and Redblade aka "Joe Yabaiden" is the returning champ from previous tournament.
@@ATLFunkyP wow, that's really awesome and motivating to the new players (like me) getting into it
@@ATLFunkyP Didn't brkrdave win last time?
MBTL is somewhat ok to me but I rather want a a new sequel of UNIB
Probably won’t happen for a while sadly. I hope they make a true sequel though, not just an expansion

Well they confirmed it, so...
@@MsMvsc frl?
Anyone know the matchup between Byakuya and Wagner?
Really common high level matchup. Both can mulch the other off one or two defensive mistakes. Byak 5a OP

1:28:42 will it kill
Am I the only one that finds makotofox’s commentary a bit annoying?
My partner recommended me this game and I have over 500 hours on it now, greatly recommend but unfortunately I have to say melty better
Melty
Too much chuuni in melty, very cringe. Good game but embarrassing to play.
UNIEL looks better than MB...
Maybe it's just for me tho.

I kinda agree. Visually speaking UNI does appeal to me more.
