Mergim - the puto bumbong was cooked in the traditional way (in the tubes). They put it in the steamer to keep it warm and prevent it from drying out.

The Puto Bumbong you got was cooked traditionally but was cooked earlier. So it was just taken from the warmer instead of made to order.

The long hours of meticulousa nd painstaking preparations and cooking time that goes with it is remarkable. That's why its so tasty, so crispy delicious and mouth watering. You should have partnered your favorite Puto Bumbong with a few more slices of that tastiest lechon you have encountered. That would have made your street food dinner experience a blast combination. Great vlog Mergim! Do more vlogging and you're nearing 50K. Gaining more subscribers in just a month staying in the Philippines.
The closest thing for a Visayan version of a Kabayan would be BAY (pronounced BUY). It means friend or buddy in Cebuano dialect.
If you're still here by September, that would be the start of the BER MONTHS. It would more appropriate to eat Puto Bumbong and Bibingka as the Xmas countdown starts then.

Part 1: I divided this into 3 parts, ive been trying for 6x already but all my comments were gone, maybe its too long, anyways the next location I suggest for u to visit is LABANGON-TISA, 2 Baranggays adjacent to eachother, the most unforgettable and very famous local night street foods in Cebu City, everyday you can go there, its already a residential area, where mostly people go there to eat after a very tiring work, or after party & after drinking just to eat local and cheaper food outside the city proper, its 24 hours the only place open, its in the residential area where you can witness the daily life styles of the Cebuanos, its used to be 24 hours but due to the Pandemic some will closes at 9pm others until midnight, I suggest uou go there at 6pm........to be continued

Mertim -- Looks like Puto bumbong is the comfort food of all comfort foods. I can understand the hesitation with the first syllable of the second word. FYI, don't confuse "Puto" with "Puta" (21.12) when referring to such delectably delightful dessert.
I told you, a lot of people searching about "Cebu" in TH-cam. Look how fast your subscribers have grown when you came and started vlogging about Cebu. Before all this, i'm sure it was slow for your channel.
I wish it was true…in fact he went from 6.7k to 43k subs in just roughly 4 weeks in his PH season 1…while in season 2 mostly in Cebu he only went from 43k to just 46k in 3 weeks…he’s slowed down a lot…I think it’s partially due to YT algorithm…and everyone watching whether subs or not should LIKE every vid…to help Mergim get more views!! just love this guy!
