RIP April Stevens - she just passed away at nearly 94 years of age. April, born in 1929, turned 37 in 1966. No one could have guessed it - she seemed here as a very young (early twenties) performer. Such was the music market, then as now - young and younger was demanded, and nothing else! Bless her pretty and talented heart. Condolences to brother Nino.

Pure and unadulterated GOLD! And to think this was recorded LIVE in the 1960's! Recordings like this were extremely rare (except for Ed Sullivan's show). Oh and did I mention how lovely April was back then!?! Thanks for sharing with us old timers!
I'm captivated by these two. They were both so multi-talented and such excellent singers. Most of this compilation looks like it was taken from the same television special. All of the vocals are live with the exception of All Strung Out, which is a lip-sync and is absolutely brilliant! I'm so enjoying getting familiar with their music. The fact that they're both drop dead gorgeous is just a bonus!

The songs were part of an hour long weekly prime time show in Australia, Brian Henderson's Bandstand. This was from 9/3/66. You can find the entire show on You Tube. Most acts were Australian.
