Thanks, those shots provide a different perspective. I need more practice with the drone to make the drone turns smoother. Also more confidence in flying in tighter areas. -Marc
Great video! William and I will have to make a trek over there in due time. Were still trying to get settled here in San Crisanto. Beautiful country none the less, isnt it??
Hello, Marc and Paulette. Awesome videography, Marc! San Miguel architecture is beautiful with all the brilliant colors. I love all the lovely landscaping, greenery, and tropical plants, and Parque Juarez is inviting with its trees, greenery, and stream. Much of what you show in El Centro appears as though it may be pricey and upscale, not sure if it is. Hotel Rosewood is about 3 times pricier than even a superior room on an upper floor with Chapultepec view at the Hyatt Regency in Polanco CDMX! Wow... It's a lovely place, but an expat haven is not for me. Mexican people are the greatest asset of Mexico; I would prefer to be around Mexican locals over being around expats and all the tourists there.
Hi Markas, It is more upscale in terms of pricing for sure. A lot of the artisan markets cater there to that. That's part of the reason that we chose San Luis Potosi is that it's not an expat haven but we appreciate the fact that some people need that. In many ways San Miguel is a softer landing for expats. Thank you for your kind comment about the videography, it's always a work in progress. -Marc
@@TheTwoTravelersInMexico Hi, Marc... Understood about some needing a 'soft landing', but I'm really more with you and Paulette, and do understand and appreciate your choice of being in SLP.
Great video! We must've just missed you. We there Friday! It was a last minute decision to detour from Queretaro. A good friend of mine who lives there was out of town but came home early. We were mostly catching up but we walked around for a few hours. We definitely have to go back and spend more time visiting. But I think even a few hours was enough to confirm my suspicions that it would not be my choice to live. We LOVED Mexico City but just like they say about New York, "a great place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there". For both cities, I'd add, "unless I was really wealthy". Park Ave vs. Bronx, Polanco vs whatever neighborhood we drove through that smelled like sewage.
Great video, love the drone shots. In the late 90s and early 00s San Miguel de Allende was getting too Americanized for my taste, but it looks like it swung to a more artistry vibe which is good. I might have to give it another try, although like you mentioned the costs are going up there so I doubt I would ever live there, but some places are good for just a visit
Hi Mark, there are a lot of places including where we live in San Luis Potosi, Queretaro etc. You just have to decide what kind of climate you want to live in.The Mexican people are very welcoming. Mostly they aren't trying to take advantage of you they’re just happy to have you in Mexico. -Marc
Thanks Tracey, there are more expats in San Miguel, it's a more "artsy" community. I think that San Miguel is prettier but it's more expensive then Lake Chapala. Probably a closer comparison would be Ajijic and San Miguel but in my opinion San Miguel is prettier then Ajijic. -Marc
Again I noticed that you do not leave the tourist areas, so again you are not really exploring just going to your comfort zones good for you for having a good time
Thanks jbsmith. We did venture out somewhat off video. We have done videos in outlying areas but we find that people just aren’t interested in watching videos in those places. -Marc

“Immigrants”, not “expats”, since you don’t have the concept of “patria”!
You are correct. People expatriate from their home country and immigrate into a new country. Thanks for watching and commenting Carlos. -Marc
