Jolan tru, I have been a fan of Romulans since the 70's I absolutely loved this film! I am sick of the self righteous Federation and this is what I need. More Romulan films I beg you. Long live those beneath the Raptor's wings.
We have a great composer who takes elements from classic Trek music and molds into to a great theme! He did it with Dreadnought Dominion and now Warbird Valdore!
It was fun getting to see R.T. back as the Captain of the Constitution. I wonder if we'll see more of him in the lead up to the Farragut Forward fanfilm
I love how anyone can be what they want in these productions! My high school teacher used to cast us in rolls that stretched our abilities. This is great! Our "Sheriff" was a beautiful young lady. She was surprisingly good. As was your actors in this installment.

Yes I enjoyed this. But now you've got me wanting to see you as TNG Romulans on board a D'deridex warbird. Maybe the characters descendants or their younger relatives as being old for one of the Vulcanoid races in Star Trek is being 200 years +.
I’ve never heard of them. How dangerous can they be? I like the Commander! Awesome scenes of the Romulans looking forward to hand to hand, the Commander not neglecting the science outpost, staying to rescue the ground troops, and ultimately, accepting Starfleet help to save her crew, no matter her prickly facade and reply to her Centurion (who knows her by now). It gave me the feel of Balance of Terror’s look at the Romulans. Loved the cameos! The Vancians might be really belligerent and kind of creepy, but imagine getting left behind in the woods, with a concussion, next to the Romulan station. You’ve got to feel for the guy!
I think Romols would not be this aggressive. they or warlike sure but their tactical minded they would not just blindly attack and would know when to run
That makes sense. But Captains in our Navy can be as different as night and day. Different leadership styles, different strategies, different personalities... So maybe it's the same with the Romulans.
Loved this! The acting, the vfx, the music, all the battle scenes, it was all amazing! And loved the attention to the lore, like calling the Romulan Commander D'Varo as such and not captain, haha.
better than discovery? I dont remember or recall there ever being any sign of a Romulan Story arc ever being mentioned let alone bought up in Star Trek discovery let alone Star Trek Kelvin by the producers of Star Trek Discovery let alone JJ Abrams's trek so i must admit trek fan films like this have done what those in discovery and trek kelvin lacked the financial budget to do so.
Fantastic Episode! A great new cast! Joan Savage was perfect! Wonderful to see Michael Bednar as R.T. and Dean Rogers as Commander Morris. Great cameo from Frank! And of course Thomas Dye and Brian Holloway did not only a great job as their characters, but made top notch contributions in the consuming and makeup departments. The thing I can really tell, is that everyone had a wonderful time making the film! Here's to so many more!

".. our governments aren't on the best of terms, but I'm not one to stand by and watch an unfair fight...".. something to that effect.. the Constitution saw a Romulan ship being pummeled by a ship they had never seen. The underlying point was to "rescue" them.. but it was also a chance to get some intel on another race with superior weapons in case they ventured into Federation territory. Starfleet has never been ones to say ".. not my problem..".. so they came to their assistance. It's also nice to have the other guy "owe you one"..
@@gdavisohio Why not watch an "unfair" fight? The Romulans love unfair fights when they are attacking under cloak and actually call that honorable. Stay at a discreet distance, launch probes to get a better look and see what happens. Evaluate both sides, their tactics, weapons and abilities all while following that vaunted Prime Directive of non interference. Besides, who says the new race wouldn't be more friendly than the Romulans or might entangle the Romulans in a war for awhile? And Romulans never owe anyone anything. At this point, the Romulans are bullies and an enemy with no sign of wanting to change that. Lets them twist in the wind when they pick a fight with someone more powerful.

There would be a great deal of "in the moment" thinking like what our own battlefield commanders have to deal with .. or the police officers on the streets.. I tend to lean toward the side of when Captain T reported into base, he could say.. ".. we came, we fired, we kicked butt..." rather than.... ".. we saw, we hung back, we watched the Romulans get clobbered..."

When Geordi discovered how to purge the Iconian computer program from their computers.. they called over to the Romulans to let them now before their warp core imploded. Starfleet likes to take the high ground. in TOS, Kirk points out the "RISK is their business", otherwise.. why be "out there". Additionally, the Klingons were the mortal enemies of the Federation for sometime.. It finally took Starfleet coming to their aid after a Romulan attack to start bridging the gap between the two races that finally resulted in not only an alliance.. but for officers like Worf to be in Starfleet. The Romulans maybe very tough eggs to crack.. but enough overtures of friendship and goodwill will finally break that camel's back and they may come to the negotiating table. In our canon, the Romulans have these Vancians to contend with. They may NEED the Federation to stave off an aggressive race that threatens them.
YES.. Ensure you watch the Warbird Valdore short "One Day a Rooster, the Next a Featherduster".. It TOTALLY explains why there is a Romulan with a Southern Drawl!

Now, clear up some confusion for me, if you don't mind... The Valdore is a Romulan ship, but it looks like a Klingon K'tinga class? Did one steal the design from the other?
The Valdore is a heavy modified Klingon D-7. The Romulans acquired the D-7 in a technology exchange with the Klingons. We saw that in the TOS Episode "Enterprise Incident". It's also how the Klingons got the cloaking device.
Nice job... just wondering though... Why did the Federation ship intercede to help the Romulans? If they had to cross the neutral zone, it had to be for a very good reason... Not really sure what the story was about... but it looked fun. :-)
A little bit between the lines.. I'd just say.. remember what Captain Tackett said.. "Our governments may not be on the friendliest terms, but I'm not one to ignore an unfair fight". The Constitution may have ventured into Romulan territory, but they saw one ship (a new one they've not seen before.. so an opportunity to take a peek) against three unknown ships (again, a chance to get some intel on a new hostile race). They saved the Valdore and while the Commander didn't show much appreciation, she did merely order them to leave the area, and generally ignored their crossing into their territory. Plus.. now she "owes Starfleet one"... Bottom line though.. it was just an excuse to have an AWESOME guest star come in and save the day (LOL)...
Not sure what you mean here.. I don't believe anyone is "pushing" Star Trek.. Are you referring to Paramount + and all the Star Trek shows? That is no different than the current trend for Marvel Movies. These are money making ventures that the studios are investing in. If you are referring to Star Trek fan films, they are just FUN to do. Its a great hobby, I have been doing them for 10 years. I get to play dress up, meet up with friends from all over the country, learn about filming, camera work, light work, what goes into making a production, and when its shot, editing, scoring, and special effects. We also get to do this on a replica of a set from a TV show that that I have been watching since I was a kid. Why is it so important.. well.. I can say its important to myself and all the folks who are involved. Many of us grew up watching Star Trek.. it's part of who we are.
I also liked a great deal about it... the script, music , special effects, but the acting was not quite there. You/ they need to listen to how naval personnel speak especially in dangerous circumstances. Basically , the actors and actresses need to project more... From the diaphragm. It better makes one heard over the background noise, comes across the communications better and gives the officers more authority.... Also, it wouldn't be "phase" technology but rather dampening technology which could work but would likely affect you own non missile weapons.
Good feedback!.. We appreciate it, we do! Some of our actors are ACTUAL actors. Then we have folks like ME.. I'm no actor.. I'm just a fan having fun, so we just try our best. The Vancians are Inter-dimensional beings both technologically and biologically. They are invaders into our universe. So they phase energy and themselves from their dimension to ours. The "phase" technology literally means that they are phasing enemy weapons into another dimension, thereby limiting their effect. However, that ability is limited to a point..
Wellllll.. We wouldn't admit they went in "blindly". We did have the characters make some jumps to conclusions without facts in evidence. Just let it be said that the Starfleet Captain figured out that the Vancians were up to no good, and saving the Romulans was better than allowing another race which could be worse, getting a foothold in Romulan territory. They very well may have designs on Federation territory, and was better to help the Romulans beat them back.. PLUS.. it afforded Starfleet the opportunity to scan the Vancians and gain some very good intel if they find themselves in a skirmish with them again. Plus.. it was just cool to watch the them and the Romulans hammer them!

The TOS episode "The Enterprise Incident" established that the Klingons transferred some D7s over to the Romulans as part of an Alliance.

The Vancians are Inter-dimensional beings both technologically and biologically. They are invaders into our universe. So they phase energy and themselves from their dimension to ours. The "phase" technology literally means that they are phasing enemy weapons into another dimension, thereby limiting their effect. However, that ability is limited to a point..

excellent but im unsure of a federation starship blindly helping a romulan. for all we know the unknown aliens might be the good guys
Wellllll.. We wouldn't admit they went in "blindly". We did have the characters make some jumps to conclusions without facts in evidence. Just let it be said that the Starfleet Captain figured out that the Vancians were up to no good, and saving the Romulans was better than allowing another race which could be worse, getting a foothold in Romulan territory. They very well may have designs on Federation territory, and was better to help the Romulans beat them back.. PLUS.. it afforded Starfleet the opportunity to scan the Vancians and gain some very good intel if they find themselves in a skirmish with them again. Plus.. it was just cool to watch the them and the Romulans hammer them!
