That's a lot of damage from a deer but many cars have been written off from a deer collision..So many variables with this type of collision, speed, size of deer, angle of impact.
Hopefully that now it’s just parts and no repair/paint, the cost for repairs goes down a lot. Current hourly rates on repairing vehicles is insane right now.
I'm always amazed at how much damage hitting a dear can cause. If possible I would be curious to know the total parts costs on this. Does Tesla offer dealer discounts on parts? Recently I cracked the windshield on my 2022 model 3 for a 2nd time (132,000 km). The cost to replace at Tesla in 2022 the first time was just under $1,000 CAD, this time they want $2,200 CAD 👀
@@daryl9799 Nope. The Windshield is not $3-$4K, it's $2,500 (that include labor). Not a bad price for the largest windshield in the auto industry (and it's made out of more durable borosilicate glass).
Glad to see you back with a new informative video! Would you say this was affordable? Or was their discussion of insurance totalling? It seems that’s what they want to do in most cases. I know you did not there, but have you had to replace tires due to an accident. It seems the new TPMS sensors may be a new tech vs what’s the usual. I’m just curious if you have had experience with the ECU recognizing the new TOMS and providing readings.
The hood and front facia of the Cybertruck (and all other vehicles) is not structural except that on the Cybertruck it spreads the impact out. It's not unusual that hitting a deer at speed will total a car or truck. Listen to the expert, John said Cybertruck handled the impact impressively. It didn't need a new radiator or any draining and refilling of the cooling system. No painting and prepping adjacent panels to match the new paint either. No clearcoat either. The labor was only 10-20% of the total repair cost.
One other thing I notice is the absence of fluids ! The shop could not be this clean with ice cars also the body repair people are I bet pretty happy going home in same cloths ! Lol that they came too work with .
I guess parts are going to be pricey why because nobody is selling parts yet at parts stores so I guess right from manufacturer at this time and we know that price don't we .
I’m guessing a $15-$20k collision repair. I believe the inner frunk structure is a thinner stamped SS similar to the SS inner doors. Notice the lack of paint/coating applied to the inner structure. It’s bare stainless steel just like the frunk A-surface skin that is seen from the outside. It’s laser welded together as you mentioned, just like the doors. Otherwise it would suffer from galvanic corrosion due to attaching two different metals together.
Please provide a cost comparison for an F-150 and Rivian for similar accident
We'll be sure to compare costs to repair in a future video!

Wow - that was really interesting. I look forward to future episodes.

I’m sure the deer can’t wait for FSD to be fully developed
It probably was.
@jackylsmith8138 Huh? Your comment doesn’t make sense
Just sat down for tea & whoala, what an upload! Thank you so much ❤
voilà?
Thank you for watching! We hope this video was a nice addition to your tea.

Would love to see the assembly process as well. Maybe time lapse?
I like the straight dope. No bs.
Fascinating.. Thank you
Thanks for watching!

What is being blurred out?
The gigacasting has a large sticker that has the vehicle's VIN, so unfortunately, we have to blur it out. Sorry about that!
In case anyone is wondering, these guys are in DE. Thanks for the video.
Missed your videos. Please post more content!!!
Thanks for always tuning in! We're implementing a regular uploading schedule in 2025 - stay tuned!
Instaling Aftermarket bumper Roo bar would be good idea 😊

Ouch I wouldnt doubt that cybertruck windsheild being 3-4k.
If it makes you feel any better a replacement windshield for on my 2020 civic Si was $1300 at Safelite.

@@ROBMACDUI Nothing makes sense anymore. It's a piece of glass and even when done exactly by the book takes less than an hour to install.
@@daryl9799 I heard it was close to $6,000

The Cybertruck automatically recognizes new TPMS sensors as soon as you drive the truck. It's seamless.
Just FYI, the inner panel of the hood is also stainless steel. It is just another grade of SS.
thank you

That exoskeleton doesn't seem to provide much structural support as claimed. Just bullet proof.

Google “crumple zone”
The front end isn't supposed to be, it has to crumple.
Seems to need just as many parts as a regular truck, just shows on the outside less damage.

deer hit wrong truck
I hope the Deer is okay !

Blurred out for what reason 😮Booooo!
This sounds much more expensive than a conventional repair
no painting required, along with no grille, radiator. AC condenser, etc with their fluid replacement
"Tesla Cybertruck's Durable Design" - so is a brick.
I think it can’t be to stiff because of collision crumple zones. It needs to break because of safety for occupants and other vehicles on the road
