  • Eric Welch, Lecturer in Jewish Studies at the University of Kansas, discusses the importance of agriculture in ancient Israel. Eric discusses the process ancient people used to produce wheat, grapes, and olives. Special emphasis is given to olive oil production and the ancient city of Ekron.
    Additionally, Eric discusses the process archaeologists use to study ancient people's agricultural resources and processes for gathering those resources. By looking at these aspects of ancient life, the lives of those who are recorded in the Bible become more clear to a modern reader.

    @3:14 trying to be relatable is a sheer way to lose the interest of someone who wants to learn about the Bible. after saying The Old Testament is "boring" he lost all respect from me as someone who was suppose to teach me. and because of that i cannot finish the video. have some dang confidence, The Holy Scripture is nothing to be ashamed of, and it is far from boring.
