Some work in jobs where they compete with Americans and some take jobs like working on a dairy farm or in a chicken processing facility where jobs are not filled easily. I'm a Democrat and I know too many people are crossing the border. More people than we can handle. And a few bring violence or drugs, but most people just want to work so their kids can have better life. I find that the illegal immigrant situation across Colorado has only increased racism for the Latino American community I belong to. Most 3rd and 4th generation legal immigrants of Latino Descent like me are at the bottom of the pole for employment, services, and overall opportunity. A lot of the hotel and food industries pay unrealistic wages to illegals around Aurora, and Denver. They would rather pay someone less than $9/hr than pay an American a “Average wage”.

I used to work for a staffing agency. One day two men walked in and asked to speak with me. Probably ages 30 and 55. We all sat down and the younger man said he would speak for the older man because he didn’t speak English. I said okay. The question was put to me regarding, why, the older man could not get an assignment at a particular factory. I told him that position requires a high school diploma, must be able to take verbal instructions and read and follow written instructions. He said, well if they just show him what to do he will do it! I said, no he does not meet the requirements. The younger explained again to me, if they will just show him what to do he will do it! Believe it or not, this actually went on for a couple minutes. He just thought it was okay to send someone to a work assignment when they couldn’t even speak a word of English and had no proof of any education at all. He continued to explain to me, that the man was tired of day labor and wanted a good job with good pay. I told him to get proof of his education and learn to speak and read English. He started to argue with me AGAIN. I said, look this is the United States of America and if a company requires certain education and skills they have the right to ask for it. Now, get your proof of education and learn to speak and read English. Then you will meet the requirements. That finally sunk in. They left and I never saw them again. You have to put the ball in their court and say “you do this and then”…. Because if you don’t, they will just argue with you and try to get you to feel sorry for them. It was just crazy.

I find that the illegal immigrant situation across Colorado has only increased racism for the Latino American community I belong to. Most 3rd and 4th generation legal immigrants of Latino Descent like me are at the bottom of the pole for employment, services, and overall opportunity. A lot of the hotel and food industries pay unrealistic wages to illegals around Aurora, and Denver. They would rather pay someone less than $9/hr than pay an American a “Average wage”.

What are they gonna do after kicking them out without finding housing? They can always go back to their home countries. No one asked them to come to the US. Therefore, the US is not obligated to keep them here illegally. Plus, they were told that they are to try and find a job and a place to go while being in the shelters. But many of them keep thinking they’re just gonna live in them shelters for a long time for free and not even try to go out to find a job and a place to live. Not anyone else’s fault but their own for not doing what they are told.
They can go back to their country where I’m sure they have family and friends. Who the hell ever heard of going to a whole other country that you don’t know anything about. I used to work for a staffing agency. One day two men walked in and asked to speak with me. Probably ages 30 and 55. We all sat down and the younger man said he would speak for the older man because he didn’t speak English. I said okay. The question was put to me regarding, why, the older man could not get an assignment at a particular factory.
I told him that position requires a high school diploma, must be able to take verbal instructions and read and follow written instructions. He said, well if they just show him what to do he will do it!
I said, no he does not meet the requirements. The younger explained again to me, if they will just show him what to do he will do it!
Believe it or not, this actually went on for a couple minutes. He just thought it was okay to send someone to a work assignment when they couldn’t even speak a word of English and had no proof of any education at all.
He continued to explain to me, that the man was tired of day labor and wanted a good job with good pay.
I told him to get proof of his education and learn to speak and read English. He started to argue with me AGAIN. I said, look this is the United States of America and if a company requires certain education and skills they have the right to ask for it. Now, get your proof of education and learn to speak and read English. Then you will meet the requirements. That finally sunk in. They left and I never saw them again.
You have to put the ball in their court and say “you do this and then”…. Because if you don’t, they will just argue with you and try to get you to feel sorry for them. It was just crazy.
And that's one of my many qualms about this issue. They are coming here illegally, no plan, no money, no English, completely unvetted, yet they have an attitude of entitlement. I find it disrespectful.

Most don’t speak English. Their kids are being enrolled in school and the accommodations for them is a tremendous financial burden. The hospital staff is overwhelmed in some of the “sanctuary cities” and that’s not fair to them. If we stop helping them they’ll stop coming.
exactly, our current society infrastructure simply does not have the capacity for them. Even if they were skilled and fluent in English, we just do not have enough jobs, food, homes, etc. to support everybody at this rate.
