I am a U.S. Citizen of 45 years with a Bachelors degree, served a year in Americorps and work in the trades. When I realized I couldn’t afford to live in Colorado, I went back East. I couldn’t imagine just showing up in a random mountain town, where many are struggling themselves and expect to be showered with necessities. This is beyond what it appears on the surface.
When you open your borders to third world citizens, expect third world problems to expand. We have an existing homelessness issue of our own citizens, to add in a competing number of those born from outside our borders, simply adds to the problem.
I'm glad you support taxing the rich more so we can redistribute it to homeless people, maybe if you'd say that offline too we'd make some positive changes happen.

Law enforcement are explicitly told not to check immigration status in most of Colorado. I have since moved away but Carbondale is my home town (family still there) and I can tell you there are already thousands of illegal immigrants that comprise likely over 50% of the local population. I have NO CLUE why this story is presented as only these 125 people when that is not even the tip of the iceberg.

I am in Panama. My California driver's is valid here. He can use his driver's license from whatever country he is from in the states. I can't drive here unless my immigration status is legal. They always ask for my passport to verify that I am in the country legally. That is a big difference.

You can drive in the US with a valid foreign driver’s license from many countries. And anyone can purchase a car with cash here. Problems arise when you try to register it. You need a proof of residency and insurance.

Sorry about that. We have the same problem in Germany. For example they put 60 "migrants" in a hotel in a town of 80 citizens. People of the town cried because of that. Our goverment does not care. They didn't even informed them beforehand. It is all escalating over here too. They are flooding our country with people. Instead of giving them cash money they changed to a prepaid creditcard system - no more cash or transfer to account. This seems to scare off some of them. But unfortunately not all of Germany practices it yet. It is all so bad. The town has to be honest and tell them there are no places to live and if you don't have a home and if you can't clean up properly no one will employ you. They must be told there are no homeless shelters and the town cannot afford to feed them. They also need to be told that there aren't an unlimited number of jobs, maybe 10- 20 seasonal jobs and most are filled by the residents of the town.

I work in Fort Collins along with recently arrived illegals from Mexico, Guatemala, and Nicaragua. They were the ones who left Denver right away because of the numbers. It's a statewide issue now.
