    I thought cast ones do less damage as they snap off absorbing a lot of the impact like a crash zone whereas conc milked ones will flip and bounce the bike damaging the frame ,I use American milled nitrile crash bobbins and frame protectors saved my bike from a lot of damage I could not afford to pay .however mine were not real life s enarios but on a race track learning and pushing my snd the bikes limits 😊

    Bro. I got a brand new anniversary R7 yesterday and dropped it twice today… I’m getting every protective thing I can tomorrow and not touching it till then lmao.

      How the fuck did you drop a brand new bike twice in one day.

    • @jadsmvs8651
      @jadsmvs8651 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just low sided my R7 2 days ago. Have the Akra full system. The carbon fibre heat shield saved the muffler and protected the plastics but I did a few hundred worth of damage in total.

      @@Armchair_Economist it’s my first real bike. I had a grom for 6 months before that and wasn’t used to the weight of it. Pulled into a parking lot and tried to put the kickstand down and it didn’t go down all the way and flipped right back up and fell on me, wasn’t too bad but the blinker got fucked up and I still haven’t fixed it but it’s not that bad. The 2nd time I brought it back to my house to show to my family and did the same shit except I was just trying to level out the weight on it and it just fell on me again and it didn’t do any damage before I got it back up. Haven’t dropped it since then and have been more careful. It really just boiled down to the fact I was not used to the weight difference and where the weight on it was at but after getting used to it I throw it around like nobody’s business. Definitely a mistake not taking it slower though.

    In the philippines rearsets are way expensive than frame sliders so we choose frame sliders

    And with the fixed pegs they are like crash protection anyway. Win win. Between rear sets and frame sliders your fairings won’t even get touched in a low side.

      I think the tank would catch some rash/dents.
      We need aftermarket tank sliders. I haven't seen any, my RC8R has them from factory. The bike in general was engineered to eat crashes pretty well tbh, case covers stay out the way in my, luckily, limited experience haha

  • @順番配給
    @順番配給 ปีที่แล้ว

    Rearset is a dumb upgrade in my experience, slide and it either snap or bent, atempt to bend it back will snap then anyway and yes it does protect exhaust but handle and side fairing will eff up anyway, better go with frame slider since it does make a different.

  • @callmeJACK_
    @callmeJACK_ ปีที่แล้ว

    I definitely agree. There will be a chance in your whole lifetime riding a bike that you will drop it once or 3x. Better to be prepared and protected and be squid like gixxer riders.

    Remember those times you've gone a little too far into a corner and your pegs scraped a little?
    That's the reason your pegs are foldable.
    With these pegs, it would've been a crash.

    • @jamesevans4534
      @jamesevans4534 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The aftermarket/ racing ones will be higher up though surely? If you're leaning over further than a WorldSBK rider then it's probably a crash anyway.

  • @ihateeverything3972
    @ihateeverything3972 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Fuck cast aluminum, it's just too brittle.
    I never thought of using non-folding rearsets to mitigate some of that crash damage. 2 for 1 if I ever build a little Ninja 300, those got the pegs too low and in hindsight I should've fitted some adjustable ones.

    • @adobomoto
      @adobomoto  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t think they’re worth it for a small bike unless you go ebay ones. Quality rearsets are pricey

  • @maceinmyeyes6915

    Just crashed the other day. Bike went sliding and the right side peg/rear brake bracket snapped in half and the peg just snapped because of the cheap aluminum casting. Definitely will upgrade but man $500 for rearsets vs $80 for frame sliders 😭
