Thank you for going against the "Stop hating games before they come out" crowd. These people don't understand the hatred and are just going against it because they need something to put blame onto.
Meanwhile SEGA is supporting their fans. Especially someone who goes by the name "Christian Whitehead" comes to mind. Someone who made Sonic fan games and ROM hacks made the best OFFICIAL versions of Sonic 1, 2, and CD and is the head of Sonic Mania, an OFFICIAL 25 ANNIVERSARY GAME. The official Sonic TH-cam channel even joked about Nintendo by making a comment on a Green Hill Paradise video saying "Brb DMCA time. Just kidding. Keep making great stuff Sonic fans." Looks like SEGA does what Nintendon't when it comes to fan games. If it wasn't for Kirby, Pokemon, and Smash, I would have left Nintendo a WHILE ago.
For me Nintendo is getting dirty, ignoring the problems with modern Paper Mario, ignoring Metroid´s birthday, I don´t care how much I enjoy their recent games, I´m losing respect for them. The original Paper Mario trilogy was memorable, and the modern ones are good as 3D Super Mario games, but it´s not Paper Mario, Metroid FF is good, and the best thing is that you can (slightly) play as Samus with an amiibo that it´s not in stores, Star Fox Zero sound horrible from what ive seen, personally, I won´t really take that much time to defend FF and Color Splash because, I don´t care about the FF hatebase that much now and Color Splash deserves it´s hate, I think something about Color Splash that people don´t get it´s that there are LET´S PLAYS, GAMEPLAYS, TRAILERS, etc., that demonstrate how it plays and feels, you I don´t think people have the right for call out Color Splash haters for not playing the game.
Nintendo basically reverted back to these ass backwards ways. How? Fans want a a decent online service on the Switch? Nintendo doubles down on the Nintendo Switch app. Fans wanted a brand new ORIGINAL 2D Mario for the Switch? Nintendo gives us "New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe" Fans wanna listen to their music on TH-cam? Nintendo goes after TH-cam OST videos of their music. Fans want a virtual console on the Switch? Nintendo only gives us NES servings on the Switch. Fans want big meaty games? Nintendo opts to release their games unfinished and then slowly trickle out the content that was suppose to be in the finished game. Fans get excited for "Super Mario Maker 2"? Nintendo kills the hype by axing the option to play online with friends. Other branches of Nintendo want to move forward with the times? Nintendo of Japan is stuck with Miyamoto holding the entire company back. Fans want a "Luigi's Mansion" remaster on the Switch? Nintendo puts it on the 3DS instead. Fans want a new "F-Zero"? Nintendo unapologetically makes unconvincing excuses as to why they will never do it. Fans want a pint of info about "Pikmin 4"? Nintendo acts like "Pikmin 4" doesn't exist. Fans want new original titles in long running franchises on the Switch? Nintendo shits out a port of the Wii U installments instead. See what I mean? Nintendo redeemed themselves in 2017, only to fall even harder credibility wise in 2018.
*Keep in mind that billionaire companies have different mind set from indie devs, while devs just want to make games they love, the massive ones actually need to make most profit as possible, they do can release good games, but their focus is profit first cuz they have investors to please or they lose everything, it is a price anyone who wants to be top in any type o industry must deal to keep existing, making experiencies like indie n failing or under selling it's not an option when u r this big, it may sound as I'm trying to make big corps looking good, but it's just a reality n I do hate how they change to be on top*
Great job. This was another wonderful video that I'm sure to be listening to more than once again. It would be really nice if the people who don't get it would watch your videos to get it.
nintendo should takes notes on sega... (unlike nintendo) sega likes to acknowledge that fans make there own games out of love for their charecters.... and as a result of this, a couple of people known for modding sonic generations... are now working with sega for projects like sonic mania & stuff.
us: common Reggie! give us mother 3! Reggie: how about you translate it yourself and play it in a gba emulator?? 5 months later... us: finnaly do- nintendo: you are DED us: noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! one of us: what the h**l is wrong with you nintendo?
+XIII Hearts I thought the stories of both Awakening and Fates were really good, and I thought the dragon vein in Fates was innovative! But to each their own
TheYoshiGamer I would watch Mangs' LP of Fates to get a good understanding on why the story fails on so many levels. But I'll try to explain; The concept of reclaiming your birthright in Birthright is a lie(because of Revelations). Having a main character who is blander than Kirito from SAO and have everyone fanatically love him/her to the point that they would jump off a cliff for said avatar, and everyone who doesn't like the Avatar are douches or literal possessed monsters who deserve to die(Slime monster Garon anyone?). The whole Nohr vs Hoshido conflict is portrayed so one sided with Hoshido being the pure country while Nohr is 99% assholes who love slaughtering people like pigs. SO many plotholes (why does the Vallite curse exist in game? Who put it there in the first place and for what purpose? Why can Azura only show the crystal ball to a Corrin and Leo and not anyone else? Since in Revelation we learn that the Hoshidan throne is a gift from Valla, and Anakos is supposed to have unlimited foresight and knowledge, why didn't he tell Garon about the throne? Since Leo apparently made teleportation crystals, why not use that to send Nohr insurgents into Hoshido? Also, Iago can apparently revive things from the dead, including a dragon, so why didn't he just revive the dragon to use that as a weapon against Hoshido? Gunter's betrayal makes no sense; Why is he working for the guy that Garon worships, which also caused his whole village to be killed? If he wanted Corrin dead, why didn't he just kill Corrin at any point before Ch. 26 of revelations? In the previous chapter he knocked Corrin unconsious. He could have easily slit Corrin's throat and blame it on Vallite soldiers. I could go on, but there are too many to list). Lots of repetition: Elise, Leo, and Camilla have the same "had a cunt of a mother whl only used them to get close to Garon" backstory. Azura, Corrin, and Elise again have the same "sneak out of castle, get caught by guards, and have a future retainer take the blame" backstory. Maps were constantly reused, despite interviews from IS saying that maps would not be reused. Supposedly important characters being absolutely useless: For example, you can cut Hinoka out of the story entirely and nothing would be lost. Lilith is a practical nonentity, despite being Corrin's actual blood-related sister along with the Awakening trio adding nothing to the story (i don't care what the DLC said about them. The fact that I have to go outside the main game for finding out information that the main game should have answered is objectively bad writing). Mikoto is an even worse Emmeryn, having less screentime before she dies, so you gave even less of a shit about her. Garon at times acts like a bad Saturday morning cartoon villain, the list goes on. Lifeless world: Every time I look at the world of Fates, I just can't imagine it as a real place. We never get a good look as to how the kingdoms work politically like in the Tellius series. We get no backstory on the world at large that is included in practically EVERY Fire Emblem game (those text boxes at the beginning of a game where they briefly explain the world at large). I also can't imagine how the world of Fates looks because they only gave us blurry Google Earth images to make a "map" of Nohr, Hoshido, and Valla. There is next to nothing given about the other nations that exist in Fates, besides the neutrality pact in Izumo that, when you look at it, doesn't make any sense, as we don't know what bad thing would happen to Nohr or Hoshido should they break the pact in Izumo. Bland characters: Outside of a few like Benny, Saizo, Scarlett, and Takumi, everyone just feels like a basic anime trope; Selena is a tsundere, Camilla is the hot milf girl, Charlotte is the gold digger with a good heart, Beruka is the silent emotionless assassin, Ryoma and Xander are stock older brother characters, Elise and Sakura are stock younger innocent sisters, etc. We hardly ever learn anything interesting, like quirks, about them that help make them stand out, like Ford in FE8 who has a hobby of painting, or interesting supports that show a characters growth as the game progresses, like Jill in POR or Duessel in Sacred Stones. Unnecessary Children: The children really should not have been here. Awakening used an acceptable method of time travel, but now they have gone off the deep end with the whole Deep Realm bullshit that now sets a scary notion that IS could use the Deep Realms as a way of lazy, contrived writing. Dragon Veins aren't that special: Outside of the Valla maps, the Dragon Veins hardly add anything interesting to maps and could be easily ignored. Good examples of Dragon Veins are chapter 21 of Conquest, where they were used to freeze the enemies in place while you escape and chapter 12 of Revelations where it was used to make new paths. Other than that the Dragon Veins serve as a mostly pointless gimmick that you can ignore. All in all, nearly everything in Fates screams of a rushed job. They spent too much money and resources for things like MyCastle and Private Quarters, and after developing the gameplay of one route (most likely Conquest), they ran low on resources and and to rush everything else; the other two paths, the story, the localization, everything is rushed beyond comprehension. Again, for more info on this, watch Mangs' LP of Fates.
19:58 And it's evident enough since Mario, Link, Kirby and Pikachu are the 4 poster boys for the Smash Bros series. However Mario is the one taking a drop in quality out of the four...man this raises eyebrows doesn't it?
as it should be, but id say its worth Nintendo to make the mario maker series, an expanded franchise like pokemon maker, zelda maker and such, even metroid maker.
Funny I never even knew about the Zelda one. Also Mark Haynes has another patreon that he is secretly using to get around Nintendo. I can kinda understand the Metroid 2 one. They basically made one of Nintendo games better that Nintendo is selling and gave it away for free.
I think it's fair for games that don't even sell in retail anymore. Even if Metroid 2 is/will be on the eShop, it still wouldn't mean much to their sales imo. Who actually buys those overpriced ports?
As much as I like Nintendo, some of their decisions are just downright stupid. As much as I fault Nintendo for taking down fangames, I think there are certain laws Nintendo are bound to in order to protect their IPs, and they probably have no choice but to follow through these DMCAs claims. They could have stomped these projects at any time, but they didn't. I'm sure Nintendo support these fangames, but by law they are forced to put their foot down. This gets into a broader issue where certain laws need to be more flexible for creative issue, but you may want to look for someone else who know more about this issue.
That, and the DMCA law is 18 years old now. The internet is in the era of TH-cam, no longer the era where fan forums were being taken down daily and creators were crushing their fans with DMCas constantly.
There are a few things I should clear up for you: 1) - Nintendo seems to have died down recently with taking down walkthroughs and let's plays of their games on TH-cam; at least from what I've seen. 2) - About certain fan-games getting taken down: Fan-remakes getting taken down are somewhat more justifiable than fan-games that aren't remakes; as much as I hate to admit it. 3) - Some of the fan-games of Nintendo's franchises that do get shut down were actually targeted by a people who pretend that they are Nintendo's lawyers. They do it either because they're trollers, or because they're con-artists trying to make a quick buck from doing that. 4) - While it is true that some of Nintendo's game tend do be gimmicky in very forced ways, I don't really think these problems are because of Shigeru Miyamoto. I've heard that he's actually been trying to teach a new generation of head developers for creating games, because he knows that he won't be around Nintendo for that much longer. He wants these developers to experiment and learn each game they've been putting out. P.s. I'm not entirely sure if all of these facts are true (in particular 3 & 4), but Nintendo is not really as bad as some people really claim. It's just that they are old fashioned, and still come off being more successful than companies that now rely on fans for help.
Actually, the Smash fanbase is kinda split between Smash 4 & Melee, mainly the competitive scene. Also, HAL Laboratories hasn't worked on Smash since they finished Melee.
***** Though I personally think that more can be done on the developer side of things to help unify both sides of the Smash community, hence your point about Nintendo needing to listen to their fans more.
I only watched 3 minutes of the video and I just had intense nostalgia of Nintendo when I was bit younger, and realized how long I spent playing their games for hours on end in my room. Those were the days. But the fact that they're taking down these fan creations who obviously support Nintendo and urge the people who willingly watch (or play) them, they blatantly urge viewers to support Nintendo's official work. And especially LPs (Lets plays) it gives people knowledge of the game the TH-camr is playing and they see how much the person enjoys it, it would simply ring in the viewer's head like, "Huh...this person seems to really enjoy this game, maybe I'll take some time to go out and try it for myself soon." Nintendo, this is free commercialization for you. These people that make these videos on their own free time and are doing it on your behalf because they want you to succeed. But when you bluntly take that away from them, what is the point? I never understood that logic. I understand that they don't want fans to copy their creations and sell it for money, that's understandable, but these fans put their hard work and tears into their creation for free, for entertainment, out of respect for your true work. I just wish they'd see that.
what ever happened to the fan made top-down Ocarina of time game that used the Link to the Past engine, now that was cool, and if Nintendo made and released a game like that, it would actually probably sell extremely well.
i have another reason why the whole wait till you play it thing is stupid. You're PAYING for thoose games right? so games like color splash ect. would be $60 thrown down the toilet
I think my amiibo collection sums up my feelings on Nintendo's properties. I have 4 Pokémon-I really like and continue to follow this series I have 3 Fire Emblem-I love the characters and the gameplay of this series Zelda and Kid Icarus have 2 each- I like some of their stuff, some not so much Splatoon has 1- I like the game, but there's only the one game so far Shulk-He's the only Xenoblade amiibo anyway Meta Knight-Kirby is fun but much of the same stuff No Metroid, no Star Fox, no Mario (except for Jr. because I love Sunshine)
***** So Nintendo has no right to protect their own IPs? They should just let everyone just do whatever they want with them? Ok, then I'll just take your video, repost it on my channel with a few minor tweaks, and claim that I am the creator of this video.
***** You say that, but you're thinking from one perspective, you have to consider Nintendo's point of view on this, this is not just business and cashcows, these games mean something to them, and people recoding them and claiming them as their own work, I can imagine how painful that must be when you're the original creator.
***** Taking the Mona Lisa and painting a few additional things doesn't suddenly make it your work, recoding an already existing game does not make it their own. If they made the game from scratch using their own code and assets then it's their's, but what you're talking about is plagarism. Nintendo may not have to, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't. You're missing some important aspects here.
***** Still, Nintendo is in the right, whether people like it or not does not change the fact that Nintendo is allowed to by law. Again, you have to see it from more than a singular perspective, and in this scenario you're doing just that. Try playing devil's advocate instead of getting mad and ranty, that never solves anything.
Okay, here's the deal behind AM2R's take down. This is more recent news, and wasn't known about until a long while after this video. Nintendo had started working on Metroid: Samus Returns in 2015, which makes sense because Nintendo probably didn't want their own remake to be overshadowed by AM2R. Pokemon Uranium could've been a very similar reason why, because Pokemon Sun and Moon were going to be released in a few months anyways, with the same thing happening to Pokemon Prism.
Making federation force would probably have made it do better, Nintendo likes slapping in existing ips on games that would have been a new ip making the game a one time thing instead of multiple games Kirbys epic yarn- old main character prince fluff Star fox adventures- Krystal most likely Splatoon- was going to be a Mario game because miyamoto wanted to add him It's a good idea to just make it a new ip, the only reason it'd go unnoticed would be because NINTENDO didn't market it enough like with splatoon, so federation force, no metroid, lots of marketing. Then confirm that Metroid would be at 2017 E3
Honestly, looking back at the Wii U era of Nintendo. I feel like Nintendo was desperate. The Wii U wasn't selling well because their marketing didn't inform the consumer well enough and made them think it was an add on to the Wii. When the Wii U was on store selves, I really wasn't interested in it. The only games that I wanted before going to college was New Super Luigi U. Being in high school I didn't have that much spending money. It didn't help that I barely saw any commercials for the console. I only got a Wii U after playing Smash for Wii U in college. The lack of third party support hurt them so some games were probably rushed just to get games on the Wii U. Smash for Wii U, the menus were a jumbled mess, unlocking characters was piss easy. You just play some versus matches and bam you got the characters. It wasn't like you had to play x amount of hours to unlock one character or play this mode with this character to unlock this other character. Yes it still had that Smash Bros fun and quality but I feel like it was rushed a little bit. Splatoon, it didn't that much map variety in multiplayer at launch. Probably due to the fact that the Wii U needed games and Nintendo was trying to sell more Wii U's. The HD Zelda games and the 3DS remakes. Most likely made to hold over Zelda fans till Breath of the Wild was released. Star Fox Zero, poor Star Fox Zero. I like the game and control scheme but it should have been optional. Also redoing the Star Fox 64 story. They made Star Fox 64 3D for a reason. It should have been a original story or something. I can see why they redid the 64 story because the last Star Fox before that was Command and that game had multiple endings so who knows where you would go with that. No new Metroid or F-Zero on the console. Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival. Definitely not the best way to get Animal Crossing on a console. When it came out with the Amiibo, I didn't feel like buying the game and then buying a whole bunch of Amiibo just to play it. I'm not too into Amiibo I only have 6 and most of them are Metroid Series Amiibo. The 3DS, probably what kept them afloat during the whole era. It made sense for them to port the games or have similar versions for the 3DS. It was successful. Of course the ports and similar versions devalued the Wii U. But they was putting games where they would sell and make money.
I would include Fire Emblem in that list of franchises that do not apply with Nintendo's drop of quality, since both Awakening and Fates have not only seen critical acclaim, but they are also big sellers (in fact both of them have even outsold Kirby: Planet Robobot). It's even getting a mobile game and Nintendo has officially considered it one of their major IPs. I know I'm kinda gushing about Fire Emblem at this point (I mean I do love the series), but I just find it incredibly odd that through out this entire video, you never mention it once. Regardless of that, great video as always.
***** Fair enough, I see were your coming from. I personally see Fire Emblem as at the very least a B-tier franchise. I consider Mario, Zelda, Pokemon and Smash Bros. all as A-Tier Franchises and Kirby and Doneky Kong as B-Tier Franchises along with Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing, Metroid and a couple others. You may disagree with me in some areas but to each his own. I think we can all at the very least agree that Fire Emblem is currently in a better position than most other franchises (namely Metroid,Star Fox, and F-Zero etc.)
***** And thank god for that, if it wasn't for Melee the franchise would probably of never came out over here or hell maybe not even exist at this moment.
I highly agree with everything that you said. Just like you I'm going to hope that Nintendo does an excellent job with the NX. Also I absolutely love your rant videos. They are very helpful for me because I can actually learn a lot of things from them.
There was a F-Zero title in development prior to the launch of the Wii. It was outsourced. Fell through the cracks sadly. As for quality IP that are satisfying consumers. I'd add fire emblem, pikmin(aside from the spin off) {personally I think the spin off can be good} Xenoblade, and splatoon to that list. Fire emblem conquest was a dream come true to classic fire emblem fans. And birthright was for newbies. While it has split up the community. It allowed for fair catering to both sides. After Awakening they found a brand new audience. One that was needed. And one that is more or less happy. New fire emblem fans are trying older games. And because of conquest. Older fans do have some good will after awakening. Awakening and fates have both sold over 2 million copies. So Nintendos treatment of the IP as a major series is justified. The mobile game will continue to expand that new market. Hopefully allowing for a bigger mix of hardcore and casual fans. Because in this particular franchises case. The divide has actually helped it tremendously. All three main Pikmin titles have been fantastic. Miyamoto's talk about Pikmin 3 was simply because he was upset it didn't sell as well as other WiiU games. When it's a project that he himself is especially proud of. Pikmin is a passion project for him. It can be understood why he'd be frustrated at Pikmin 3 only selling a million at retail when he worked on it for years and years to make it the best game he could. And that passion shows. Pikmin 3 is a fantastic game. Splatoon is a new Ip. But having sold about 5 million copies on WiiU. It is a new huge IP for Nintendo. One of the best things to come out of the wiius life in fact. The wiius equivalent to Pikmin in terms of "successful new IP" while it is saddening that the development team has stopped splat fest and updates. They kept that going for a year. About on par with most other companies support for shooters. That team was new, and young. And I remember one time where a developer attended a tournament for the game. And was moved to tears on stage at the passion people had for the game. More or less saying on stage that it'd continue. And it's safe to assume that a Splatoon 2 will be made for NX. Especially with e final splat fest having taken place a while ago. Leaving the team mostly unattended too. Xenoblade Chronicles X as the as good as the first title. It was still amazing in its own right. But one can see easily that X was the first part of something huge. Takahashi at monolith soft heard complaints regarding X and promised that come the next title that it'd be a balance of both games great aspects. Xenoblade X's amazing graphics, mechs, world, combat mechanics, and various systems. And the original games story, characters, emotion, and music. The resulting game will very likely be fantastic. I am very anxious to see what will come next for the series. I noticed that you brought up mother 3 at one point as well. I'd like to say that rumors have heavily indicated that it'll be released soonish. Coming from the same peril,e have been putting out rumors for the NX. When and if it does. That can finally be put to rest. Speaking of the NX. The console never had any indication of a September reveal. The promise was "information in the fall" fall literally just started a few days ago. Meaning that NX information is very likely going to be in the next few weeks. Adding to that point. Sony fucked up the PS4Pro and apple messed up the IPhone 7. Ironically, This will be a perfect time to strike in light of those devices disappointing. By the way. My friend got his hands on paper Mario color splash the other day with that preorder glitch. It's what sticker star should have been fro mother start. It's good. A hell of a lot better then sticker star, witch in my eyes was borderline unplayable. Fixings or at least working on a majority of the problems with that title. The reason they moved away from RPG elements with that series was simple. Super paper Mario sold almost 4 million copies. Versus the first girl that sold 1.3 million. And TTYD that sold 2.25 million. You can bring up the hardware success rate. But sticker star has been at market for about 3 years. That was roughly the same amount of time that TTYD had as well at market before GameCube was entirely phased out. I'd also points out. Being a late 2012 release. Sticker star was still working with a limited install base. Remover those retroactively absured "3DS doomed" articles that ran ramped through the web at those times? The 3DS's install base at that point was about on par with the game cubes life time sales when sticker star dropped. Meaning that sticker star performed on par with the franchises best in a similar time frame. Relative to both devices install bases. The core fundamental differences is that the 3DS took off well after more tiles started coming in 2013. As where the miracle GameCube needed never pulled through, and resurrects shifted to Wii. Speaking of numbers.... The wiius abysmal failure, and resources shifting to NX is very likely to blame for those quality drops. For example. In the development of twilight princess for the GameCube. The Wii version was an after thought when the game was nearly half way done. Something they thought of to give the Wii a strong launch title, history shows us that this was one of the single smarter moves Nintendo ever made. As twilight princess at launch gave the console an extremely strong launch tile. That many, many people were hyped to play. Fast forward to 2014 when breath of the wild became the main focus for the Zelda team. The WiiU was struggling. And smash 4 and Mario kart 8 want the miracle they desperately needed. The decision was made from the very beginning to make breath of the wild a launch title for the next platform. That's right. As early as 2014. Some resources began to shift towards the NX. In order to prevent the wiius failure happening again. Meaning that a majority of developers were from that point onwards had less initiate to get out solid products. And instead focused on just getting WiiU generation done and over with. So that people could start working on NX games to bolster that consoles line up. Giving it the fighting chance WiiU never saw. This is also the whole reason for the dive into mobile. By getting famous Nintendo IP into people's hands. They make people more likely to pick up Nintendo hardware and mainline titles. Pokemon go' popularity surge caused Pokemon X and Y, and OR/AS to top the game sales charts against new releases in August and July. And will likely have an impact on the already assured huge success of Pokemon sun and moon. It's the same logic for super Mario run and NX. All in all the only points you presented here I can really agree with. Or at the very least see as unexplainable you presented here was the ones covering Nintendos treatment of fan games. And even then. It's Nintendo of Japan calling the shots on this. NOA honestly doesn't care about Let's play videos. In fact they've supported them in the past. Through various appearances of miyamotos on famous users channels. And so on. To fix all of this. It comes down to one thing. Nintendo of Japan is the company that severely needs to modernize and not be so afraid of the modern world. Because they are the brains of the company. If they give an order to NOA to take down a fan game, or a fan video. They have absolutely no choice but to obey. And that's where the problem lies. What Nintendo needs most in my eyes today is simply younger directors in administrative positions within the company. The people currently running the company are 50, 60, and sometimes upwards to 70 years old. And then suddenly the pieces start to fall into place. What worked in business 30 years ago doesn't work today. If some fresh young blood were planted in some of the board meeting chairs. We wouldn't see anywhere near as much bullshit as we are seeing now.
I got chills where you said the "c" word and the "a" word and it sounded like you didn't want to say it, but it was still a great video, and should we say "sega does what Nintendon'ts"?
That's good that you don't like to follow the crowd and use an additional needs aspect as an insult when autism can be quite life-breaking for someone, and these insults are passed down so lightly like people with the use of gay slurs to replace 'stupid, dumb, negative feeling' with more 'clout'.
WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA *WHAO!!!!!* Before I watch the video, I just gotta say something. NINTENDO PUT THE BULLET ON MARK'S SUPER MARIO BROS Z REBOOT SERIES??? Even if it's a Patreon, *THE FUCK NINTENDO!?*
Haruhi Suzumiya LOL seriously? It was a *patreon* for pete sake. He was still going to make them anyway, along with his artwork, but here's the thing with Patreon. It's just supporting the guy in general, as he do that and his art. He's not FORCING profit, or demanding money, it's the people who CHOOSE to support it or not. He's not selling animations & games with their characters. So let me get this right. if an animators starts a Patreon just to do fun Nintendo/video game skits, and parodies, that's consider profiting off their IPs right?
Pioxys in legal terms, Nintendo can sue him, its dangerous when money of any kind is involved... fair use specifically states its not going to be financially viable. Donations or not, its Nintendo's property he has made money off.
I think that Miyamoto for how awesome as he was in the past, he is getting a bit older and his decisions show that. So maybe it is better for Miyamoto to retire for the better for Nintendo. Not to be all hands on into other teams but he needs to make his own separate game and his own separate team. Hopefully the NX will be a success but there is no hope for Nintendo if they shift into the Smart Phone market if the NX fails. Super Mario Run by all means they will have success but I hope that Nintendo keep their heads on straight.
Well, Nintendo does have the right to attack fanmade games. I means, the fans who created their games didn't have permission from Nintendo from the start.
I Know I Kinda Wrong But, I Think Nintendo Is "Scared" Of Their Fans Because One Of The Amiibo Truck Has Been Robbed. Now Thinking About It, I'm Both Wrong And Right.
I find it funny that the four franchises that Nintendo hasn't screwed up are the most consistent franchises in terms of quality, with Smash and Kirby being my favorite Nintendo franchises. Mario's mostly consistent too, but when taking the various spin offs (mostly Paper Mario) into account, Mario's losing some steam. It's sad to see Nintendo stumble so much this year. Aside from Smash DLC, Planet Robobot, and likely Sun and Moon, Nintendo's been fucking up left and right. I haven't played Star Fox Zero so I can't say anything about it, but the fact that it bombed in sales really makes me worried for the future of Star Fox, if there's even a possible one now. Metroid fans almost act like abuse victims when stuff like Other M and Federation Force are brought up, and the F-Zero community... don't get me started on them. I hear that Pikmin and Fire Emblem (that last one depending on who you ask) are also doing well for the most part (not sure about Pikmin 3DS), but apart from the four franchises that you mentioned (Zelda, Pokemon, Kirby, and Smash), Nintendo's been on a losing streak. Let's hope the NX brings about an era of Nintendo where they go back to their ambitious and creative ways. Also, let Miyamoto retire. God of gaming or not, he's been shown to have been fucking up franchises like Paper Mario because of his old school ways.
One of my favourite games of all time is Yoshi's Island on SNES, it had so much variety to offer. Every level felt unique, every boss and even mini-boss was memorable, the controlls were fast and crisp, the soundtrack was fitting from cheerful to intense, the final boss fight was craaazy, so intimidating and its artstyle is timeless. I had so much fun gettting to 100% cause of its great game design. But when I got Yoshi's New Island I was so disappointed, the game was so bland. Not much variety, mini-boss fights were just almost the same fights against Kamek over and over, even final bosses were boring, the controlls felt heavier and slow, the soundtrack was so boring all the way, the final boss fights were a joke and the artstyle is meh.. And that's how I feel about many Nintendo IPs nowadays. They're just so bland.. where is Nintendo's and Mr. Miyamoto's creativity?
***** Absolutely no offense to you, but it drives me insane when people call such a tiny, pun intended, game like Pikmin 3DS the 4th main series title. There's no way in heck that Miyamoto would try and present a handheld Pikmin as the next true generation of the main series Pikmin. It would be too underwhelming. This, this is its own thing.
Alvin Earthworm's patreon got taken down because he was getting money for using Nintendo's characters in his animations. I love SMBZ, and was upset when I heard about it, but I now understand why Nintendo did it. As for AM2R(and nobody quote me on this), I'm pretty sure the game wasn't funded in any way, so I don't know the reason behind that.
Metroid is only the tip of the soul-draining iceberg. Don't forget Paper Mario, Fire Emblem, that...one "crossover" with SMT, and Amiibo Festival. v.v I would also put Mario Party on there too, but for me, it doesn't deserve all the rage it gets because it isn't emotionally shocking enough when they change mechanics. Mario Party 9, 10, and Island Tour may have been underwhelming / average, but they are NOWHERE near insulting as Color Splash, Federation Force, Tokyo Mirage Sessions, or Amiibo Festival! That, and Star Rush actually looks to be a better way to change status quo without the vehicle system or negatively affecting the competitive aspect. Back on track...honestly, I'm afraid of what Nintendo will be by the end of 2016, and I feel that my Wii U will be the last Nintendo console I own. Sure, I'm not outright outraged by these games...but when will this cycle end? These games are not like Sonic '06 or Rise of Lyric, but they don't need to be in order to get these reactions. There's just plain bad and just "Nintendo Bad." It's like the new Ghostbusters movie, forgive the analogy: the only way to save time, money, and sanity is to simply avoid it, the extreme fans, and the extreme critics. That's how I see Nintendo's games today. >.>
+Boo Lyan I agree. Maybe, just maybe things will start to look up in 2017. I know that there's not just supposed to be Zelda coming, but Mario AND Sonic as well. Now, granted, this could change, but if we get the NX with these titles in the same year... It should be cool...
AM2R and Pokemon Uranium were taken down for taking actual assets from Nintendo's own games. AM2R seems to be using the Metroid Zero Mission sprites, and Pokemon Uranium.....You can tell from including actual official pokemon alongside the unofficial ones, the sprites are taken from the official Pokemon games on the DS.
I like Sticks the badger however. Paper Mario Colour Splash was Paper Mario Hell of the Toads. 12:41 I have to stop for tonight, good video so far, I like this type of video even if nintendo won't listen to it for a while.
i do have to agree with you on the video. but for me its specifically on fzero. im a fan of F-zero and racing games in general. but for F-zero, its been over 13 years since GX came out and we barely gotten any futuristic like racing games from nintendo. while captain falcon is still avalible in the smash bros series and in mario kart 8 with the dlcs, its kinda of a bs excuse that they need a "better controller" to make f-zero play better. gx worked fine with the gamecube controller since you have more accurate movement. if it were a motion control like the wii mote or wii u tablet then people will find it hard to control and be frustrated. now with future racing games in general there is hope like "fast racing neo" and mario kart 8's anti grav mechanics. lets just hope theres enough fan service to bring not just f zero but the other ips you mentioned. you really deserve to be a top ranked youtuber in the discussion category.
Wow are you serious? Nintendo is afraid of their fans? FOR WHAT? That makes no fucking sense! To me that just sounds like a polite way to say "We want to tell out fans to F Off" remember those days where they cared for their fans? Also I've been trying to make a Paper Mario fan series. But due to how strict Nintendo is with everything, Idk about that. :/ Also I hated the gameplay of Super Paper Mario. And no not just because its different either. But I agree that it had heart and an amazing story. The reason they probably didn't go with SPM even though it sold the most was because of the direction and story. Knowing how much they wanna gimmick and simplify everything, they can't do that with a great story now can they? Aside from that I personally agree with everything said in this video. I don't think Federation Force would've been a bad thing, but to release it on Metroid's 30's anniversary? As a Metroid Fan that's insulting. Now if this would've been sold alongside an actual Metroid game, that would've been a whole other story. I also agree with your statement of addressing the people blindly following Nintendo's logic and ignoring why fans are so upset. I don't like the art design of Color Splash either. ONLY from a character standard point. The structures and Layout are okay, but they're going way too overboard with the paper theme. Where everything is just paper, rather than it taking place in a storybook. Everything is just paper and that's it. It's made worse by the fact they're still reference that they're made of paper. Also I thank you addressing this. The Mario games for the last couple of years. Especially 2016 have been so poor/bland and mediocre lately. Mario isn't rally doing so hot. With all of his games ranging from meh to negative reviews. They're practically running every single one of his titles. The Sports games are becoming bland, Mario Party is now garbage, Paper Mario sucks in direction and gimmicks the only thing left for them to ruin is Mario Kart series! Please not the Mario Kart series! Also I hear people complaining about Mario Marker on the 3DS for not including online functionality. It's all fucking local! Seriously Nintendo? In an age where online is so widely used, accepted and generally the way to play any sort of multiplayer you still wanna suggest local? Honestly if it wasn't for me being a Legend of Zelda nerd, Pokemon fan or Kirby fan I'd straight up leave.
Nintendo are too scared to let their games be used outside of their inner circle even in a non commercial and profit free way so they just shut down anything that isn't made by them because they don't want people to begin to realize that their recent products in these franchises have been terrible (too late for that) and leaving them. Personally, I love Super Paper Mario's gameplay however I do agree it isn't how the series should be more than a one time tribute to Classic Mario (back before it became redundant to do so.) I want the original style back but even better than before. Oh, I absolutely hate the art style in Sticker Star and Color Splash. Whatever happened to how it was in the first three games where it was just Mario in the Paper Mario games and not a Paper Mario character? The first three games have canonical ties to every other Mario game series including the platformers both 2D and 3D as well as the Party, Sports, and Mario and Luigi games. There's nothing paper about the art style in the original games anyway. They're just sprites with 3D objects and a sylized background (Illustrated children's drawing for the first game, hand drawn comic book for the second game, and pixel art for the third game). The characters aren't made of paper and they don't exist in an alternate dimensional world that is accessed by opening a storybook. I hate Paper Jam so much for even suggesting that's the case when it canonically isn't because of the first three games showing otherwise. Since they existed first they have more canonical standing than it but the fact they even did that makes me so upset. SS, PJ, and CS honestly are non canon games because of this whole world and characters made of paper and how they're impossible to exist with any other Mario game except themselves. Not only that but the papercraft art style has been done so much better in other games before this, even Yoshi's Story on the N64, when it's in the cutscenes the characters look much better and even more like paper than this game and the cardboard effects are just as good looking there as they are here. I have a Wii U and 3DS and I honestly have hardly any games for them. Nintendo has done a terrible job making me interested in any of their games this generation. The only one I'm legitimately excited for is Breath of the Wild because it's the only game this generation that seems to actually be going all the way into evolving itself into something brand new and innovative while still keeping what makes Zelda so great. I really hope the NX's library is much better.
Brian Molinet Well mine is a fan series, not a game yet really. I'm not experienced at development yet, however when I do I might turn it into a fan game. But I do have OC partners I'm planning.
I'm sorry, but as much as Nintendo does to fuck up lately; they are no where near as bad as Konami. And that is Konami's Bussiness strategy. Except there is also a "Fuck our Employees" mentality there too.
The "dark age of Mario" is pretty much why I appreciate Super Mario Sunshine, my first Mario game - a lot more than other people honestly. I wish they could make a game with just as much creativity, Galaxy and 3D World came close but those are just very few games in the pile of generic NSMB and Sports spinoffs. I will say Namco Bandai lost my trust way before Nintendo ever did though with not only wasting IPs like Klonoa, Mr. Driller and Splatterhouse, but also ignoring fans who are VERY vocal about wanting a true Sucessor to the Pac-Man World games. I have yet to actually play the Ghostly Adventures games, and I heard they aren't as bad as Sonic Boom (Wii U) but the TV Show already has a poor reception and the reboot alone is what made Pac-Man sadly get the reputation of "Irrelevant" he is now, But even then - Namco Bandai seems to be abandoning their failed reboot and is possibly hyping up a return to the basics 3D Adventure for Pac-Man's 40's anniversary. Sure Nintendo has ignored other franchises that we clearly want like another Wario Land title or even a proper Metroid or F-Zero - But I had a grudge toward Namco Bandai more as they did it longer than they have. I'd REALLY be egar to hear you talk about them at some point as well.
I'm honestly starting to lose interest in Nintendo games because of the things you mentioned. In the 3DS direct, there was almost no game that really interest me (Mario Sports Superstars looks kinda intersting).
I'm sorry but I have to add two to the list of franchises that still aren't terrible: Fire Emblem (Some games that came out recently were really good) Xenoblade (Considering the fact that Shigeru Miyamoto made the original one himself, Xenoblade and Xenoblade X are both really good games)
Fire Emblem has certainly enjoyed a resurgence with the 3DS titles, yes. There's been complaints about localization and use of elements like a casual mode, as well as the use of different versions of software for the split in story in Fate, but otherwise yes, I would agree Fire Emblem is doing well. Xenoblade has done well and X was an improvement for sure, but I'd hesitate on crediting Nintendo with that. Most of development was done by Monolith Soft, and from what I understand Nintendo had minimal involvement beyond publishing and some executive decisions. Miyamoto wasn't really involved, and if anything the game was Tetsuya Takahashi's brainchild. That's not to say Nintendo did nothing, their publishing helped get the game done and out there, and the decision to even name the game Xenoblade, harkoning back to the older Xeno titles, was not just a nice nod to Takahashi's past work, but I'm sure helped turn a few heads in the game's direction.
The whole Fire Emblem being shoved down people's throats while F-Zero/Metroid/Wario Land/Starfy/Whatever were ignored, Especially during Smash kinda left a bad impression on some. Gaming can't just simply cater to one audience.
How about Nintendo's lack of catering to those that grew up on the brand, and now as adults want more mature experiences, without having to buy another console? Nintendo could easily cater to both younger and mature camps (they did well on wii) so what changed? So many IP's to pull from and yet just the same few over and over. I don't get their logic. For Nintendo to prosper again means catering to as many people as possible, but there are just so many times people can be burned by them...and sadly I think it's getting to that point (and before I get branded a hater, the NES was my first console and I would like nothing more than to see them on top again...or at least competitive)
I was more referring to the fact that back in the day you could have all of the major experiences on a Nintendo console (as well as the exclusives) and more recently they have shied away from third party....a mistake in this day and age if you wish to be competitive (and I already game primarily on PC)
Grumpy Gimp81 so why does this actually concern you? Seeing as sony is out of ideas and has closed down quite alot of studios, and Microsoft is not really doing much but there is some studios left, as for nx, there will be 3rd party, from what I've heard...
Because I own all the 7th and 8th gen consoles as well, smart ass (I have them for the exclusives) but I do prefer the features you can only get on pc.
Grumpy Gimp81 fair enough, nowadays im a retro gamer so i own quite a few consoles other than Nintendo (i own 2 wii us) my laptop is a potato and so i cant do much with that.
So, basically, Miyamoto is essentialy the George Lucas (Star Wars Prequels era) of Gaming...That would explain alot
miyamoto explains that George Lucas is his idol.
Thank you for going against the "Stop hating games before they come out" crowd. These people don't understand the hatred and are just going against it because they need something to put blame onto.
Admitting Faults is an important part of improveing. The hate in this case is justified but i wouldnt call it hate more worry.
+SuperMarioT
How likely is Nintendo to listen?
Literally every other gaming company does what Nintendon't.
i could think of 5 companies that do this (including SEGA)
square enix, sega, capcom, namco and even EA....
You're very well spoken, good video, mate.
Brian Molinet fuck off
I know I'm kinda off topic but does anybody know a good site to watch new tv shows online ?
@Bodhi Briar i would suggest flixzone. Just search on google for it =)
@Braylon Judson yea, I've been watching on Flixzone for since april myself =)
@Braylon Judson thank you, I went there and it seems to work :) I really appreciate it!!
Next thing you know, Nintendo takes down videos where Mario appears as a cameo for a split second
they don't even do that... Content id is better!!
Amazing video bro. I agree with you 100%
This video is perfect. You deserve more subscribers.
He deserves over 1 million subscribers if you ask me
Np you deserve more praise for real though.
+NintendoVeteran85 more!!!
Maria Flores YES!!!
+SuperMarioT Feeling so hard...? :|
U Deluxe"
Fans wanna listen to their music on TH-cam?
I can't get over that background music... Man, you've got good video game music taste!
Ah I see what you did, you added Ocarina of Time music so Nintendo will be able to see your video before removing it.
I actually have autism. It makes me sick when people use it that way. :( I agree with you.
i do too, coincidence or not? also i am MakerORMTtrolls on super mario maker 2. ID:NV0-TW9-J0H
i do too. coincidence or not? also i am MakerORMTtrolls on super mario maker 2 ID:NV0-NW9-J0H
Also, isn´t it funny that independent developers deliver want people want more that Nintendo? Just look at axiom verge.
I fucking love your videos you should be at 1 million subscribers in the next second!! Keep it up and I totally agree with you!
***** lol
sega also embrace the meme
Oh my! a fan game that would help us in sales slightly because of a reintroduction into our franchises? Better kill it!
All of those fan games violate copyright laws, I believe.
Yes, of course. I'm guessing Sega is more lax since they're not a big conglomerate company like Nintendo.
us: common Reggie! give us mother 3! Reggie: how about you translate it yourself and play it in a gba emulator?? 5 months later...
us: finnaly do- nintendo: you are DED us: noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! one of us: what the h**l is wrong with you nintendo?
Fire Emblem should be included in being innovative even to this day!
I wouldn't really consider Fates to be all that "innovated." Some gameplay changes were fine, but HOLY SHIT was the story bad.
+XIII Hearts I thought the stories of both Awakening and Fates were really good, and I thought the dragon vein in Fates was innovative! But to each their own
TheYoshiGamer
I would watch Mangs' LP of Fates to get a good understanding on why the story fails on so many levels. But I'll try to explain;
The concept of reclaiming your birthright in Birthright is a lie(because of Revelations).
Unfortunately, the only "Fan games" Nintendo allows us to make now is Super Mario Maker ones.
as it should be, but id say its worth Nintendo to make the mario maker series, an expanded franchise like pokemon maker, zelda maker and such, even metroid maker.
Haruhi Suzumiya Pokémon Maker sounds like a good idea.
20:00
Wait wait, is that a shrek?
That's a good point Kirby is just chilling and nobody has any issue with him.
i hope that miyamoto starts doing better but i also hope nintendo doesnt completely die
Color Splash has a little Thousand Year Door
A lot of people like Color Splash is batter than Sticker Star
Can u English?
To be fair, Nintendo does have rights to their characters. If they don't want support, that is their fault.
Who actually buys those overpriced ports?
that will get Nintendo to DMCA him, a patreon is fine but when you are directly benefitting on Nintendo's creative output then you will be shut down.
Absolutely true in every aspect in this video on how I feel about Nintendo today.
I'm the only one who likes Paper Mario color splash. I'm saying that. ok? ok
Oh of course Nintendo's afraid of its fans. The fans can do their IPs better than they can.
i actually never knew about the super mario 64 hd remake
But the hopes are a lot more important than just calling it dead
There are a few things I should clear up for you:
1) - Nintendo seems to have died down recently with taking down walkthroughs and let's plays of their games on TH-cam; at least from what I've seen.
Should probably make this a hashtag. And the answer is simple: LISTEN TO YOUR FANS!
Could this be just an artist point of view? They care more about being playing their games than buying them?
I'm just glad HAL has control over a good bit of Kirby.
If something happens to kirby I will lose it. >_>
And especially LPs (Lets plays) it gives people knowledge of the game the TH-camr is playing and they see how much the person enjoys it, it would simply ring in the viewer's head like, "Huh...this person seems to really enjoy this game, maybe I'll take some time to go out and try it for myself soon."
Nintendo, this is free commercialization for you. I just wish they'd see that.
but when you have gamebolt profiting from unlicensed games and the fact Nintendo need to be known as the developer for these games.
Nintendo needs to watch your videos.
They'll take them down
Who saw Shrek on the Super Smash Bros for WII U promotional art?
i thought the reason there hasn't been an Fzero game was because they quote "don't have any ideas for one"
*****
yea it's like anoumas resoning for Link being Right handed in Breath of the Wild
OK is it just me or does paper Mario color splash look good to me
it gets hate for being aesthetically a sticker star done right.
Ah, Man... and our family just got a WiiU for X-Mas in 2015, NX not even around then
Just wait for the NX (reboot)
Amiibo festival is a Nintendo game that shouldn't have ever existed and I have no idea what the fuck Nintendo was thinking!
what ever happened to the fan made top-down Ocarina of time game that used
the Link to the Past engine, now that was cool, and if Nintendo made and released a game like that, it would actually probably sell extremely well.
Yeh
i have another reason why the whole wait till you play it thing is stupid. You're PAYING for thoose games right? so games like color splash ect. would be $60 thrown down the toilet
I think my amiibo collection sums up my feelings on Nintendo's properties.
I have 4 Pokémon-I really like and continue to follow this series
I have 3 Fire Emblem-I love the characters and the gameplay of this series
Zelda and Kid Icarus have 2 each- I like some of their stuff, some not so much
Splatoon has 1- I like the game, but there's only the one game so far
Shulk-He's the only Xenoblade amiibo anyway
Meta Knight-Kirby is fun but much of the same stuff
No Metroid, no Star Fox, no Mario (except for Jr. because I love Sunshine)
They fear the fans is their fault? Maybe there's something wrong with the fans if Nintendo is afraid of them, ever think of that?
*****
So Nintendo has no right to protect their own IPs? They should just let everyone just do whatever they want with them? Ok, then I'll just take your video, repost it on my channel with a few minor tweaks, and claim that I am the creator of this video.
*****
I was making a point. And making people happy doesn't always outweigh what needs to be done.
*****
You say that, but you're thinking from one perspective, you have to consider Nintendo's point of view on this, this is not just business and cashcows, these games mean something to them, and people recoding them and claiming them as their own work, I can imagine how painful that must be when you're the original creator.
*****
Taking the Mona Lisa and painting a few additional things doesn't suddenly make it your work, recoding an already existing game does not make it their own. If they made the game from scratch using their own code and assets then it's their's, but what you're talking about is plagarism. Nintendo may not have to, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't. You're missing some important aspects here.
*****
Still, Nintendo is in the right, whether people like it or not does not change the fact that Nintendo is allowed to by law. Again, you have to see it from more than a singular perspective, and in this scenario you're doing just that. Try playing devil's advocate instead of getting mad and ranty, that never solves anything.
you know when a enterprise have problems when the wiiu sold less than the psvita
That Starfox Zero so much potential lost look like a good game yet there is no way to play it old scool style and remove the weird controler?
Okay, here's the deal behind AM2R's take down. This is more recent news, and wasn't known about until a long while after this video.
Nintendo had started working on Metroid: Samus Returns in 2015, which makes sense because Nintendo probably didn't want their own remake to be overshadowed by AM2R.
Pokemon Uranium could've been a very similar reason why, because Pokemon Sun and Moon were going to be released in a few months anyways, with the same thing happening to Pokemon Prism.
Paper Mario Thousand Year Door and Super Paper Mario were the last few great Paper Mario games.
this is why I subbed you m8 keep it up
+SuperMarioT np :D
Making federation force would probably have made it do better, Nintendo likes slapping in existing ips on games that would have been a new ip making the game a one time thing instead of multiple games
Kirbys epic yarn- old main character prince fluff
Star fox adventures- Krystal most likely
Splatoon- was going to be a Mario game because miyamoto wanted to add him
It's a good idea to just make it a new ip, the only reason it'd go unnoticed would be because NINTENDO didn't market it enough like with splatoon, so federation force, no metroid, lots of marketing. Then confirm that Metroid would be at 2017 E3
Is rewind chronicles gonna come out...and I hope they don't take it down if if comes out

SO in a way Shakira Miyamoto is becoming the next George Lucas.
Did Nintendo take the South Park episode "#REHASH" too seriously?
That should start as the newest hashtag or something.

That's good that you don't like to follow the crowd and use an additional needs aspect as an insult when autism can be quite life-breaking for someone, and these insults are passed down so lightly like people with the use of gay slurs to replace 'stupid, dumb, negative feeling' with more 'clout'.
Shit got real at 10:00! Nice work
I'll give Color Splash a shot. and I've played the first 3 games. Besides, it isn't like there's anything else coming to Wii U this fall anyway.
WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA *WHAO!!!!!*
Before I watch the video, I just gotta say something.
NINTENDO PUT THE BULLET ON MARK'S SUPER MARIO BROS Z REBOOT SERIES???
Even if it's a Patreon, *THE FUCK NINTENDO!?*
so he should be profiting off Nintendo's property! thats illegal so Fuck you!!
Might as well start a petition for making Link Nintendo's new mascot.
bawa wa wa ha! as if that will happen... better luck making sony an IP people give a fuck about!
Haruhi Suzumiya We're still getting better Zelda games than Mario games
Antasma1 true, and it's popular with females...
100%
God damn, the 2D Pikmin isn't Pikmin 4
***** Absolutely no offense to you, but it drives me insane when people call such a tiny, pun intended, game like Pikmin 3DS the 4th main series title.
There's no way in heck that Miyamoto would try and present a handheld Pikmin as the next true generation of the main series Pikmin. It would be too underwhelming. This, this is its own thing.
You forgot to come pair the Xbox fans to Sonic fans because we're all giving hate to them since the Xbox One.
Nintendo protecting there own Ips
Alvin Earthworm's patreon got taken down because he was getting money for using Nintendo's characters in his animations. I love SMBZ, and was upset when I heard about it, but I now understand why Nintendo did it. As for AM2R(and nobody quote me on this), I'm pretty sure the game wasn't funded in any way, so I don't know the reason behind that.
Consensus says AM2R was taken down for Federation Force. :/
+Boo Lyan If that's the truth, then I don't think Nintendo knows what Metroid is anymore...
Metroid is only the tip of the soul-draining iceberg. Don't forget Paper Mario, Fire Emblem, that...one "crossover" with SMT, and Amiibo Festival. v.v
I would also put Mario Party on there too, but for me, it doesn't deserve all the rage it gets because it isn't emotionally shocking enough when they change mechanics.
There's just plain bad and just "Nintendo Bad."
It's like the new Ghostbusters movie, forgive the analogy: the only way to save time, money, and sanity is to simply avoid it, the extreme fans, and the extreme critics.
HEAR THE FANS NINTENDO AND MAKE THE NX A GREAT CONSOLE (and a new good paper mario game:) )
*Fan work = Not profitable*
if they made a 2000 year clone then I would buy a wiiu
I like Sticks the badger however.
Paper Mario Colour Splash was Paper Mario Hell of the Toads.
12:41 I have to stop for tonight, good video so far, I like this type of video even if nintendo won't listen to it for a while.
I agree with you. especially about the fangames and the gimnicks.
I think Sports Superstars looks good, but otherwise, agree.
i do have to agree with you on the video. but for me its specifically on fzero. im a fan of F-zero and racing games in general. but for F-zero, its been over 13 years since GX came out and we barely gotten any futuristic like racing games from nintendo. while captain falcon is still avalible in the smash bros series and in mario kart 8 with the dlcs, its kinda of a bs excuse that they need a "better controller" to make f-zero play better. gx worked fine with the gamecube controller since you have more accurate movement. if it were a motion control like the wii mote or wii u tablet then people will find it hard to control and be frustrated. now with future racing games in general there is hope like "fast racing neo" and mario kart 8's anti grav mechanics. lets just hope theres enough fan service to bring not just f zero but the other ips you mentioned. you really deserve to be a top ranked youtuber in the discussion category.
Nintendo is on the verge of dying -my opinion
when mario run will be releasing on smartphones THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN!
Also I hated the gameplay of Super Paper Mario.
I´m also making a Paper Mario fan game series, huh.
Brian Molinet Well mine is a fan series, not a game yet really. I'm not experienced at development yet, however when I do I might turn it into a fan game. But I do have OC partners I'm planning.
CodeBox42
Good luck keeping Nintendo away from it.
CodeBox42 Yeah... mine too, except that I´m not using Mario this time.
NEW RANT LIKE LIKE LIKE
Also here why Nintendo is doing this; Because they follow the rules of
1. Fuck The Fans
2. Fuck The Games
3. Get All The Money
I'm sorry, but as much as Nintendo does to fuck up lately; they are no where near as bad as Konami.
And that is Konami's Bussiness strategy. Except there is also a "Fuck our Employees" mentality there too.
then you obviously haven't seen EA then...
It's funny nintendo is barely doing anything with metroid but they take down a fan game anyway.
nintendo thinks their own game is way better than fan game
I'm honestly starting to lose interest in Nintendo games because of the things you mentioned. In the 3DS direct, there was almost no game that really interest me (Mario Sports Superstars looks kinda intersting).
I'm sorry but I have to add two to the list of franchises that still aren't terrible:
Fire Emblem (Some games that came out recently were really good)
Xenoblade (Considering the fact that Shigeru Miyamoto made the original one himself, Xenoblade and Xenoblade X are both really good games)
Kid Icarus: Uprising was also a good game.
The whole Fire Emblem being shoved down people's throats while F-Zero/Metroid/Wario Land/Starfy/Whatever were ignored, Especially during Smash kinda left a bad impression on some. Gaming can't just simply cater to one audience.
I dont think you know how copyright law works
They closed SMBZ?!
their patreon....
For Nintendo to prosper again means catering to as many people as possible, but there are just so many times people can be burned by them...and sadly I think it's getting to that point (and before I get branded a hater, the NES was my first console and I would like nothing more than to see them on top again...or at least competitive)
then go buy playstation or build a PC, see ya!
The old Nintendo is better than new Nintendo until it fix everything but I don't know
nintendo's Terror? IWATA'S DEATH!
