    If you ever have the worcester with the vent tube on top of the kebab heat exchanger.. what I do it drain the boiler at the point by the diverter. Then put the vent tube into a bottle of system cleaner, open the vent tube and syphon all the cleaner into the boiler..... pressurise the boiler, isolate flow and return, and run the hot tap on low temp and it will flush just the plate out.. Once it's been ran for a while until temps are stable on high... flush cleaner out and open flow and return valves... always works for me..

    • @Heatking
      @Heatking  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I knew about that strategy mate but for some reason didn’t associate it with the plate, I just assumed it cleaned out the main hex.. what a donut haha. Thanks for the advice Brendan! 🫶🏽

    All plates can be cleaned using similar chemicals,they're mostly made by specialist companys.
    A tip I was given was measure hot outlet and return temp and expect ideally 1c diff.
    Yes advise power flush and filter if not fitted.

    I used to work for Worcester and in my opinion the 25. & 30i ERP is the best model Worcester ever made. The easiest way to test a plate blockage is to measure the flow temp by the display temp and then measure the hot water outlet temperature either at the tap or pipe underneath. The temperature difference should be 10 degrees max. So if tap reading 50, boiler should display 60. If more than this like 20 degrees etc, plate is blocked. 👍

    • @Heatking
      @Heatking  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Kev, would you say this method above only works on Worcesters or all plates? I was always taught to measure the flow and return difference in the boiler like I’ve done on this.

    • @kevincranfield5235
      @kevincranfield5235 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All boilers are different. Manufacturer specific. This as far as know only works for Worcester. Ideal you would test return temp and hot water outlet temp, less than 5c is good, 10 or above etc would be blocked. I’ve done a video on the ideal on Allen hart channel ages ago.

    Just be careful on worcesters, youve got to realise that boiler can only produce approx 11l per min, if your opening up that hot tap fully at start, it looked alot more than that and the heat transfer wont happen and cause the boiler to overheat. Its one of the biggest callouts i get and when i tell customer to turn hot tap open a quarter of way it will give the heat transfer the best chance and pretty much make boiler stay on. Also worth noting on those 30i erps, the diverter motor/paddle tend to get weak and put heat down the flow due to blocked plates. In my opinion, there one of the worst theyve made, cdi range is so much better. Good video though mate. I would never use acid, just replace. Ive seen blokes getting some nasty burns.

    • @Purebeltersteve
