I follows your first video . And changed my first timing belt 😊. I made a video about it. Would you give it a view and tell me how it did ? It’s very subjective how tight to tighten the belt

Hi ,I actually did comment on your cambelt video you did about 5 months ago..,not sure if you seen that. ..,.you did well for a first time.How did she run after that?..Sometimes you may need to make some adjustments, because the intermediate pully moves off it's mark quite easily when you slip on the new belt...,so best way to do it is to make an adjustment at the distributor,. ensuring the rotor faces the mark on the distributor....if that's not lined up you will have sluggish performance,or it could be too advanced,and you will get some pinging,and engine running too hot.
Always good to keep an eye on the timing marks after a cambelt Change and after you have driven the car.When tightening the belt,you should just be able to flick it with thumb and forefinger about 45 degrees...If it's too tight ,you will hear it making a whining sound.,so then just back off the tension a little bit .

@@pjs-golfmk1-diy oh just spotted it 🙈😂 head like a sieve. Running great. I used your video and it helped so much. So thank you 😊 had a water leak and I’ve a rust bubble under the windscreen at the bottom . Not sure how to remove the windscreen

@@stevenharpervw ok .cool😊👍. Rust bubble under windscreen.,.Typical on the Mk1,.I also have,...so will have to attend to it soon..I never yet did a windscreen removal job..,will have to get someone in the know for assistance.Will try and do a video.
