Maya: Arnold Rendering MASH Color

- Folks, don‘t blame me! This tutorial covers the long and tedious from a nice looking MASH colour distribution to rendering those colours in Arnold. Why so complicated? Ask Autodesk (Maya), ask Mainframe North (MASH).
You find a step by step text in my blog: www.maxschoenhe...
Pls check the comments by Mainframe North about this topic, see below.
Perfect, thank you!!! Insane that we have to jump through these kind of hoops to actually make use of MASH color!!
As always so clear and fun to discover the mysteries of Maya and Arnold. Thank you for all the research and discoveries you share with us.
You absolutely saved my life and totally made me laugh at "Jesus" LOL Thank you!
Thank you so much. How has this not been fixed yet !
Well, let‘s wait and see ;-(
thanks so much for the help. Now 3 years later and I still refer to this video - why haven't they fixed it yet?
i haven‘t seen any improvement here ;-(
Thanks so much, this was really helpful- I cant even see the colour node in the viewport, but at least i can see it in renders now!
you're very welcome. and if you feel like supporting this channel: patreon.com/uhr24
Thank you so much!! This video helped me a lot :)
Thank you for step by step guide notes. Very helpful.
Thank you, very clear tuto
Wow excellent job. Thank you.
Nice and fun. How make it work for a plane and rendering both faces? I just get the random color only in one.
awesome! thank you!!! :) needed some colored blocks fast. awesome
thanks, works fine.
but i noticed that the color wont render when using smooth preview for whatever reason (just smooth object)
please contact mainframe north about this.
I'm guessing that Smooth preview and subdiv rendering adds vertexes
You saved me. Thank you!!!
my pleasure!
Bless you thank you
Im trying to do something similar but my mesh is two combined shapes. Its a present with the wrapping paper one color and the modeled ribbon and bow is a different color. Is it possible to have the color node make the wrapping paper and ribbons be random colors?
hey, i'm afraid i cannot help. the MASH → Arnold colour problem has not been resolved.
Color Mash is tricky. I created 3 objects combined (no history) and distributed spheres (Mesh Face Centre and Flood) on it. Color Mash with Hue Random created black spheres in the first and third objects and the second was colored, but each sphere have colored stripes, instead of each sphere witha a different color. Bizarre result. The only object with correct colors (each sphere with a different color) was another fourth object.
Why the first and third object have black color, being the same mesh and the same Mash nodes? Mistery.
You are a champion!!!
sir my color node is off how to switch it on?
i don't know, my friend.
Thanks a lot, very useful
to see the color in viewport you must have legacy default viewport on
How can I change the background to black? I marked "Enable Background Color ", but it didn't help.
thank you , very nice
Many Thanks ! ! ! :-) You vids very helpful !! God bless !!
It's works, thank you a lot :)
Спасибо!
haha yes this is pretty standard workflow when it comes to color sets in arnold. next you should do vertex motion blur on fluid mesh. its similar but even more ridiculous.
i dont have that tab...
NVM YOU SAVED ME OMG
mine isn't working still
i cannot help you here.
Legend!
Why?
Joke aside, thank you so much!
Why Maya ! Why !?? Please fix this...
why don't these guys program this in, drives me bonkers.
WHY WOULD THEY DO THIS?!
Literally makes the color node useless with all these steps
many sighs... are you tired?
to see it in the viewport just go to your aiStandardSurface1SG and add a lambert to the surface shader and in the arnold tab add the aisurface shader
pfff
dennis, this tutorial is over a year old and maybe outdated. pls be tolerant!
@@Uhr24 I will, sorry for that. I just noticed it.
sighing is a must do to not get in asylum when using maya
