How do you use the audio to control the color with soft transition between colors? I was about to use output frequency to control the color, but the colors change very abruptly...
Hi, Can I MASH a Fall-Off object again? I give audio to the Fall-Off object of a MASH Network that I have set offset. I want to apply this to offset as well when the sound is in motion. In other words, I want the Fall-Off object of the Offset to move synchronously while the sound is playing.
Unfortunately it's difficult to animate an extrusion on a polygon object along a curve, simply due to how extrusions along paths work. You will definitely need to pre-extrude the faces you want to animate, since there's no way to actually animate the act of extruding. Once you've done that, I would suggest adding a Curve Warp deformer using your existing curve. Once you've done that, you can increase the Local Translate of the polyExtrudeFace node to have it follow the curve and you can animate that. However, because the deformer works at an object level and not a component level, you may need to tweak some of the other settings to get it looking just the way you want.
Good morning, I would like to make two requests, first to teach how to correctly use the particles of maya 2018, the other and the correct use of the render layers of maya that look like that of photoshop, but do not understand how to use them because when configuring and saying that certain layer has one object and I try by the same in another to render with error overlap. Thank you for your attention and keep up the good work.
Can we use the audio node to create an animation of colorful lighting devices that light up according to the rhythm of the music, each lamp as it turn?
Yup. In that case, you'll want to use lightbulbs as primitives (instead of cubes). You'll probably need to increase the emission/exposure too in order to make them very bright.
This message is for Autodesk. I love the idea of being able to do 3-D art and animation, but the software is often expensive and difficult to use. Someone needs to develop a 3-D program that isn't expensive and is easy to use even for an absolute beginner. Something that allows the artist to create anything from creatures, characters, buildings and a wide range of environments. Even a means of generating sound effects built right in. I love your Sketchbook program, it's easy to use and intuitive and I had no difficulty using the program. I almost needed no instruction and I would love to have a 3-D program just as simple to use.
okay you rendered but how did you play the animation without dropping the individual frames into like Premiere Pro? bc I can't get music to sync in Premiere Pro and individual rendered frames don't automatically play in Maya...so tell me your secrets please
Unfortunately, you will need to composite the batch rendered frames with music in an external software. Maya doesn't have built-in sound export functionality (since that's not it's specialty). That said, there are some alternatives to Premiere Pro such as Microsoft Video Editor (free), Windows Movie Maker (free), Open Shot (free), Camtasia, or iMovie.
@@Autodesk_Maya thanks for the fast answer I'm knocking my head off here to get it to sync. I can render the images and use in premiere or after effects, but it wont sync like it does in maya. Premiere only does 1.00 sec per frame but wont let you put 1.25 seconds or so to time it right. After Effects shows the music but I can't make it play. How oh how did you do this?
@@sabrinaflipse7732 I actually use a free software called DJView to play the sequence and then record it using Camtasia. Then I sync the music in the Camtasia editor.

But, don't know how much hardware support does this software need(I.e. processor and ram of cpu) and what have I to do to get this software. I would be really grateful if I can know these facts. so, please make me know. thank you...

when you right click on pattern attribute (rotation Z) to set key, I try and it doesnt show up (set key).. what am I doing wrong? im using a imac, and have already set the mouse to "one button" in maya preferences. still doesnt do anything. only if I right click on object it works. but I want to right click on the attribute. thanks.
hi! thanks for your reply. yes, Ive tried enabling 1 click, secondary click and third click. but it doesnt make any difference.. im using an imac with a one click apple mouse, but when I enable 1 click in maya's system preferences I can right click on any object on the screen. just not on a pattern in the attribute editor.
In that case, I think this may be a bug. For the time being, I'd suggest reporting the bug here: download.autodesk.com/us/support/report_a_bug.html?SelProduct=Alias%20Design and then using the Channel Box since you can access the same attributes from there.
This step is specifically to get the Color Node to show up in Arnold renders. Because the Color node uses Color per Vertex (CPV) data to determine the color of each point in the MASH network, we need to export that CPV data to get it to show up in the Arnold render (ordinary Arnold renders don't use CPV data for display).
@@СаматМелисуулу-о8д No, this only applies when you use the Color Node. If you color the primitives just by assigning textures, you don't need to export CPV data.
Hey..you mentioned that you did some math to get the color change to happen on beat...Do you mind sharing that math? My math sucks lol. I have a beat that is 77bpm...and I want color to change every 4 beats. How would I go about doing that???
so 77 bpm = 77 beats per 60 seconds. Divide both by 77, and you get 1 beat per 0.78s (approx). If you're running at 24 frames / 1 second, then that means you have a beat roughly every 18.7 frames / 1 second. Therefore, you're looking to change the color once roughly every 18.7 frames. There are some rounding errors in there, but this should get you close enough.
This is so underwhelming. I wanna be good at Maya so bad, as it is an "industry standard". But the tutorials u find online are always lacking with a quiet community and have really mediocre results. If you search for Blender or Cinema4D tutorials, its much more lively and they always show fully how to make really insane cool stuff that looks professional.
why dont just watch C4D mograph tutorial and create it in maya all you need to know is the technique, the result you can apply in maya and maya MASH is grow powerfull and powerfull, i don't know, but in some point maybe it already defeat C4D mograph, of course its my opinion, maya have bright future with MASH and now MASH have integration with Dynamic, which is a ground breaking feature in the last 3 year, maya have grown strong and full of passionate people develop it software, im not natively use maya from start, im start from max n c4d, but maya have convince me to convert

is there a way i can do this using the color node on instances??? the color node greys out when i have instances instead of geometry
Unfortunately, the color node is only supported on repromeshes, just due to the way the algorithm works.
