      That is kind of you to say. Sometimes I wonder if I'm clear or confusing in my explanations.

      I thought you were very clear and included all the little caveats (that I can remember anyway). I've decided that next time I introduce this game to new players I'm going to start by showing them this video.

    This is great, how come it only has 45 likes?? I've just sent it to a friend of mine who might get this game for her daughter. The other videos are cool too. Here's an idea for a video: a complete playthrough of Sylvion. I believe it would be cool. At any rate, keep up the good work :)

      +James S. Well thanks to you I now have 46 likes!! I've never heard of Sylvion before. I will check it out. Thanks for the kind words. Keep watching as I'm nearly ready to upload my latest video. Cheers!

    Great review! We just ordered this game after watching it on TableTop and your review is awesome at filling in the rules and gameplay gaps. Keep up the great work.

    I just found your channel, and I LOVE your videos. PLEASE keep making them! I have a huge shelf of games I can't get friends to play, and a projector I can play your wonderful videos on while we play the ten games they WILL play... Maybe I'll finally get a Takenoko game in!

      Thanks a lot. I will continue to make them. Hopefully your friends will come around.

    great vid. Someone just asked me via WhatsApp what the game is about, and rather than trying to describe it (and waffling on for ages) i shown them this vid. very informative! ☺

      That's great! It was my goal to help new players get familiar with the game before their first play. Mission Accomplished!

      I really appreciate the kind comment. I watch and rewatch these videos a hundred times during their creation - it's sometimes hard to know if they are good anymore. I'm glad that people like them.

    Wow Greg, this is great. I remember playing with Stikfas a long time ago! I almost had forgotten about them. I love your animation and, don't take this the wrong way, but your voice is really soothing! How do you do the cool parts where the tiles look like they are floating in the air? I don't see a hand or anything!

    • @GregoryCornell
      @GregoryCornell  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the kind comments. Your opinion about my voice being soothing may be unique :) If you are referring to the part where he is choosing plot tiles, they are simply being supported from behind or underneath. That's usually done by taping something to the back like a card. If you look closely at my other animations you can spy some of the things that support the flipping pieces as well.

      Gregory Cornell How many frames/shots do you do for a typical scene or movement? Obviously the more minute the movements, the smoother it is but also more time consuming. Do you do the voiceover beforehand and have the animation match or the other way around?

    • @GregoryCornell
      @GregoryCornell  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      sygyzy It all starts by writing the review. Then I record it and add background music. Then I begin to animate to the sound. You can see how many frames I shoot per project on the end title plate of each animation. I always animate at 12 frames per second (a hold over from learning to animate on film). So if I animate a scene, I try to build in some holds (places where the action can pause for a bit). Then if my shot runs too short I can copy the frames in the holds to increase the time of the scene overall - and vice versa.

    Do you get to score an objective card as soon as you see the layout satisfy the condition on the card, or do you score only on your turn?

    • @GregoryCornell
      @GregoryCornell  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Completing any objective cards takes place on your turn only.
