People mistakenly think Kentucky Fried Chicken changed to KFC because they were adding grilled chicken when advertising "healthy alternatives" in the fast food industry was a trend. But what really happened is that legislators decided to trademark the name of the state. So anything that had "Kentucky" in the name had to pay royalties to use it.
I enjoyed the segment about companies that changed their name. I knew about Kadabra, but not the other two. When I was a kid, I learned about a very famous company that was originally called Haloid Chemicals. They figured out a way to make copies of documents, and changed their name subsequently to Xerox.
Bobby bone and pauly bone would be a Great idea! People will naturally kinda pick a team or a favorite depending on whos bones they agree with more often

I've got a bone. How about when you want to hang with the boys and y'all plan on getting together, and one of the boys shows up with his girlfriend/wife/whatever without saying anything.

My father grew resentment towards his family who thought this way, My Father had 5 kids, he started noticing people stopped inviting him to big events, he put 2 and 2 together, he knew people hated the brady bunch. All in the while my father invited people over and those people brought their kids, unexpected friends, and would always be treat them like family and my dad would host to the most... coolers full with beer, bbq to serve until tomorrow, but when our family was considered, it was a problem, it was like inviting an army to them, hey, it is what it is. Its not on the invitor because when people started sending letters where there is a limited number of guest per family, we never went, out of pride, my Dad would, out of pride, not go at all. Limited number of guest per family, we were the biggest family, like wtf, no. you treat guest like family no matter if there invited or unexpected, idk, this one was triggering to me, lol. I like the bones because we can all relate in different lenses. congrats on this pod, i love it.
I live in Indianapolis and we have the Triple-A team of the Pittsburgh Pirates, they are the Indianapolis Indians. They are not changing the name, despite some blowback when Cleveland changed their name. There is no negative connotation to the name. I can understand “Redskins” being changed because I don’t think anyone would appreciate a team called the “Rednecks”. I can understand and respect that, but Indians?? I don’t understand that one. Plus, there are College and other professional teams that aren’t changing their names I.E. Chiefs, Braves, Seminole’s, Fighting Illini, just to name a few. Plus, you have predominately white people chanting and waving their arm during the games, yet, that’s still allowed.

Bobby is in the wrong here. Framing it as "so your kids are allowed because it's your house?" is beside the point...what I *think* Paul is trying to say here is that his kids understand the ground rules enough to where it's nobody else's problem. On the flip side, it's unfair to his kids to host a party for adults and as a result expect his kids to entertain other people's children. I remember those days of being old enough to stay out of adults hair but young enough to be expected to entertain other kids (who were a lot of the time even friends) just because there was a gathering. Paul just doesn't want to be rude and say "look, my kids don't really want to babysit their friends tonight, so if you could find a sitter I'd appreciate it".

Long winded 🦴 related to this episode - I Love Paul. Honestly. Hes a great guy. TVE and AYG haS got me through some real tough times weird as that may sound. But ive heard Paul MANY times now say "were giving it to them for free they get it for free noone should complain" like its a 250$ giftcard lol. Not for nothing but you dont spend time,$, production,and promotion to talk about specific topics w. Your friends Just as a bonus for fans. Its for $. Yes some podcasts make millions some make hundreds. Regardless w. The views you will eventually start to get like tve,AYG etc. Youll get ad revenue, $from youtube views and or donations possibly you can sell merch. AND it puts new viewers on to you as well and helps you move tickets. So please dont treat fans like charity cases you do philanthropy for weekly lol. Its borderline insulting. Some ppl are fans of certain podcasts and $ is so tight rn they cant afford 8$ extra a month for a patreon. My 🦴. Love the pod and bob and Paul. Mikes grown on me as well lol.
