This is the nicest place you've owned since I've been watching. Full size appliances, pretty colors, nice furniture and 2 bedrooms, porch, private setting. Perfect!
@@stercaland , I used to change ac filters in apartments, and I have dealt with some of these air conditioners. They usually have grooves to put filters. Thanks
I have a double wide mobile home with the same A/C system. It is called an "A" coil. Mine has the filters in the same place as you and I also have about an inch of water in the pan. It drains down that tube when it gets up to a certain level. Some people put bleach in the water to prevent mold growth but I never have.
So good to see you happy! Contentedness is a highly under rated experience. A dry nest, not too big, not too small. Just like goldilocks? Lucy is a sweetheart, Amigo. Enjoy this fine earned time.
Rusty - Congrats on the new home. Because the a/c blows down it's backwards from what you're familiar with. I'm assuming there's a fan underneath the coils. Usually the return air comes from below the unit, passes through the filters and is blown over the coils by a fan. Your return air is being sucked through the louvered door by the fan under the coil. You need to filter that air to keep the coils and the fan clean. Laying the filters over the coils is a piss-poor way to filter the air, but it's better than nothing. I suggest that you figure out a way to put filters on the back of the door so that after the air is sucked in the louvers it is filtered before it hits the coils and the fan.
Rusty I really think you done good on this one!! My favorite thing is the privacy you have on all sides. I couldnt stand having neighbors so close they could spit that far.
Hi Rusty, new place is looking great! You are correct on the AC, install the filters into the return air grill (that you lift off) and the "cut to fit" filters work best. The water in the ac cooling coil tray is pretty normal. The AC looks fairly new. Hope this helps! Have a great day and Happy Living in the new Place!
Rusty, may be a good idea to have some good gray 1 to 2 inch gravel poured and spread on your front area and parking areas to help with dust and mud when it rains…just a thought. By the way, your place is AWESOME and super PEACEFUL!! Cheers from SATX!
Good day, Rusty. Hope you have a wonderful day. You are right. That's how the filter goes in the A/C. Should get it service plus they can service is the heater.
I have been following your channel since darn near the beginning. Saw you living in many campers/homes/vehicles. This is the most ‘Rusty’ home, so far, purchased. I think folks just tend to purchase the wrong filters. Thanks for the interesting contents. It’s appreciated
The filters go as you had the one placed. I’ve even attached air fresheners on the filters for when the blower kicks on. The pan is to drain the system. Correct on the water heater, more effective & efficient to keep it turned on than try to heat the entire tank when you want to use it. Replace with instant heater if that need arises. Same with turning portable air conditioners off and on. Cheaper to keep the room cool, than to have to cool the entire area down after letting the cool air heat up. You do have a cool place.
Rusty, that AC reminds me of my old home... My current home, the filter is underneath that compressor. The bottom panel should be able to take off, and I would think there should be a filter. I think they have those panels flip-flopped, solid on the top, vented on the bottom. The water on that pan should have a drain to go outside. Also, there should be an intake valve or PVC pipe so you can pour a half a cup of bleach or white vinegar to prevent mold and clean your drainage pipe. Probably on the tray, where you saw that standing water. On the AC unit, there might be sticker of a local company hopefully you have more than one to contact. Another TH-camr he rebuilt his mobile home for a family of six, he installed 3 mini splits. I would think you would only need a big one in the main area and remove the old central AC, convert to a pantry.
Checking for leaks, etc. Smart. Man. Can I mention checking for any apparent mice damage under your home? Those cute little squeakers can sure make for some misery fast, and Winter is coming. 😊
Hi Rusty; In terms of the water accumulation on the coil tray, in South Florida we are recommended by A/C mechanics to add about 1/4 cup of clorox every few months to keep the tray un blocked and dry. That amount of water suggest that there is some sort of blockage in the tray. I would remove all the water with a towel and add the (1/2 cup) clorox to clear the blockage. Clorox also helps with preventing the growth of bacteria in the water. It would also help if you add another 1/4 cup down the line until fixed every few months. I've never seen an A/C that has filters covering the coil. Usually the air is sucked in from the bottom to be cooled by the coils and distribute outward. Great place. Enjoy it.
Rusty, that is a counterflow unit meaning it flows thru the coil on top of electric furnace to the ducts in floor. Where they placed them was correct. They were trying to keep dust and dirt off the coil. Not ideal situation like it was. A better idea is to have a filter rack over the metal louvered door that you took off. Mobil home units are the cheapest unit type made. Maybe two mini split heat pumps may work better for you. Good luck with your endeavors.
If you can't get a big ac, you could measure the windows and get some window units ac/heaters. It may be cheaper to go that route if you have to replace your ac unit. I could be wrong, but I was giving an opinion to your question.
I live in a single wide. You should have the metal filters that you wash and reuse (like the ones in a stove hood vent) Lowe’s should have them and they slide in clips
With respect to the filter, I have always had a house that has a single filter. What you showed us would mean 2 filters.. one on the left and one on the right of that coil.
Yeah, filters against the coil doesn't look right. Does cold air come out of floor registers? The intake vent (that you removed) does seem to be the right place for a filter.
That comment that says the filter is somewhere under the A coil is correct! It should fit horizontally in a slot. I will reserve comments on how the prior owner laid the filters against surfaces of the A coil......
The shrubbery makes for good privacy but blocks your views. I had grown fond of those fantastic views in NM. Nice place though ..filled with lots of stuff!👍🍻
That filter placement does not look right at all too me. On some units there is a place under the coil that allows you to slide the filter under it. I am wondering if these people have those panels reversed and the vented one goes to the bottom location. Also, once this minor thing is righted order some superior Merv-8 filters from Amazon as the ones that were left there allow way too much dirt through to the coils. The Merv-8 is a good all around filter that traps dirt and does not restrict air flow to the coil.
You need a AC technician to clean your central AC twice a year. They will change filters if you have them. I wouldn’t close vents off in any room . You will create mold
Hey Rusty! Its been a couple months, so I'm back to check out your new place. Wow, that's the most furniture you ever had, and I like it. You should meet up with the lady (Linda?)from Serene and Simple life, she builds a new house every year. Cheers! 🍺
Hi Rusty, beware, I had a water heater in my bedroom closet, it was all indoor access, I came home to a flood once, the water heater was moved outside after re-doing all the floors😬🤑
This is the nicest place you've owned since I've been watching. Full size appliances, pretty colors, nice furniture and 2 bedrooms, porch, private setting. Perfect!
Love to sit outside on the porch and listen to the rain
I love the porch. Such a beautiful and peaceful place to sit and relax.
Beautiful new home. Congratulations Rusty! 🎊 🎉 I wish you the best of luck! 🎉
Hey Rusty. I really like that porch area. Very nice. I hope this one works out very well for you.
me too...thanks
Hi Rusty, please open the bottom door of your ac unit and see if there’s a groove to slide in a filter underneath the coil.
Agreed. My filter sits UNDER the air handler as do most I've seen.

Very nice & comfy,Rusty! Your comfort is number 1. Be safe, always. Glad🎉 you're enjoying life as you are.😂

thank you very much
I would get a solid front door no window.
What a beautiful and cozy home you've made for yourself. Wowweee!
Open bottom door, on the furnace/AC
Exactly
Looks comfy! I'm glad you are back in our home state. Enjoy the day!🙂
So good to see you happy! Contentedness is a highly under rated experience.

This purchase was a home run. Congratulations.
I love your new home! Love all the beautiful colors. I think its perfect!!!!!!!
I live in an older mobile home. That's where my filters are placed, and it keeps a lot of dust out of your furnace/air conditioner.
❤ Rusty you better keep this place it is the most beautiful one you've had
I do like the colors in your new place. Looks cozy. Bet it was very nice sitting out on your deck when it was raining.

You have a great looking home. the rugs and wall hangings are so pretty. I love the colorful decorations. Very nice ,Rusty.
Glad you like them!

The filter goes in the top panel, I serviced mobile homes.
thanks
With that placement, the ac filter would have been more effective thrown out in the front yard.😂
Nice and yes you need the correct size filter for AC
Awesome digs.... enjoy it in good health Rusty!!!!!!
Beautiful home!
Very cute. The color added to it makes it look more like a house.

Nice to see rain out there. Like the house!
Nice home! I wish you lots of peace there, looks very comfy! I like audio books, too. I listen to my books to help me go to sleep.

I live in a manufacture home since 1985. Cheap living.😊
Also if the water heater is over 5 years old, always check for water leaks
Nice house.
What a lovely home Rusty. Another great buy 🙌🙌
You have all the privacy on both properties.
Aloha
Definitely a good idea to check the roof after a rain Rusty . I believe the filter goes underneath in the bottom. Need to remove other cover . 👍😁
I love that red couch!
Regarding the air con, if it ain't broke don't fix it! Filters are weird. Just have someone look at it.
Checking for leaks, etc. Smart. Man. Can I mention checking for any apparent mice damage under your home? Those cute little squeakers can sure make for some misery fast, and Winter is coming. 😊
It appears they stored the two extra furnace filters in that compartment for future use.
Cold water heater

👍👍 🌲🐶🐶🤠🐶🐶🚐🇺🇸🌲
Filter should be under the air handler bottom door.
Rusty they keep your coils clean
Yeah filter should go under coil
I like the rusty couch ! )
Its beautiful 🤩 and cozy now stay in Texas 😁
I’ve never seen an air conditioner like that before.

ok
What about 2 small window units on 110 AC , & use HVAC closet as a pantry, always think about resale that's what I do

Gorgeous Place, Brother Rusty!!!
Ya Dun Well, Sir!!!
Thank you kindly
Wouldn’t the filter go on the bottom behind the other vent. Maybe they were just storing the filters there.
I think the filter belongs in the grill
What’s better, living in a home with room or living in casita trailer, for you personally?
now, a home works very well
As Goldilocks would say "It's just right!!!". Hang on to this one.
What about a large floor vent?
👍👍
Nice diggs Rusty.
Nice spot. That's if you can stay, unfickled???
true
Cool video talk rusty lol 😆 😄 🤣 😂
A little bird looking out the window.
You won’t stay there long
🇺🇸Hey, Rust&Partner; Don't call a high priced HVAC guy. You're very well capable of sucking the water by yourself or get a Sponge. GODBless
