- Turbine Driven BFP or TDBFP is a boiler feed pump which is run by turbine It increases the overall efficiency of the powerplant because motor driven bfp takes 3 to 5% of power generated at the station . To avoid such a huge energy loss we use steam turbine to drive the feed pump .
The steam used for this turbine usually taken from IP turbine but in case of lower load or emergency we can run it by using APRDS steam header
STEP TO TAKE IN SERVICE
1 Open all drains and vents of aprds, IP extraction, seal steam header and turbine casing
2 Insure turbine is on baring speed and JOP and LOP are running
3 Do sealing of the turbine
4 connect the turbine with condenser by opening turbine exhaust butterfly valve
5 Insure suction valve and recirculation valve is open and discharge valve is closed
5 Give command for 0 rpm speed
6 Do trip reset it will provide oil pressure in governing rack
7 Open stop valve and give speed to 1000rpm
8 Roll it to 2500rpm by increasing 500rpm per command

how flow sharing is done and speed calculation,biasing
Feed Flow sharing - In auto mode the speed(rpm) of bfps is equal so suction flow also equal
Speed of Bfp -It is controlled by the resultant feed flow or output of feed demand formula (by various c&i loops ) At the same speed(rpm) tdbfp and mdbfp has equal suction flow because of the same design. In tdbfp the turbine control valve controls the speed as feed flow requirement.
Biasing - it is Differential temp (sep outlet-saturation temp) if we increase it feed flow goes down and when decreased feed goes up
Correction - if the controller calculates feed demand and we want to correct it due to some reason then it helps
