you would have to simplify the answer from 14:30, the answer would be y=45-x as teh question says to give the answer in it's simplest form.

Not quite but I can see why you'd think that. The angle marked y is the angle we're looking for and I got y=90-2x. I'd be able to divide by 2 if it was 2y=90-2x however that's not the case.
I hope this makes sense!
