That custom Grievous torso looks so good, i especially like the neck connection The R2 third leg is pretty common usage, still nice looking Bossk upgrade one is unique, never seen someone adding longer arms to him With the rest of figure, the dual molded legs are truly game changers, it's sad that LEGO uses plain ones most of the time what makes these figures less accurate
Yeah sure, 1x1 round plate with open stud, bar 1l with angled hollow stud, 1x1 round tile quarter, 1x1 brick with studs on 4 sides, bar 1l with 1x1 round plate with hollow stud, plate 1x1 with bar handle on long stem
I’m personally ok with the official Bossk being regular minifigure proportions, but your upgrade to the older fig looks really great too! Also that Grievous is pure genius.
The bossk arms are surprisingly good but jdk if I'm convinced with just putting 1x1s in his feet but that was really the only way to give him the extra height he needed
Yeah I'm on the fence with plates too but this was best variant, anything else looked even worse. Tbh if lego had dual molded yellow/sand green legs that'd be perfect
Firstly, amazing improvements! Secondly, yeah the old Grievous torso mold is obsolete in my book. The fact that you managed to put so many details, make the figure taller, AND more poseable is phenomenal.
Your grievous design is pretty sick, surprisingly detailed for how few pieces you used. Another design I've seen, which I've applied to my grievous figure was extending out all of his limbs by using a dark bluish grey droid arm on each limb, connected by clipping the joints illegally. Looks pretty menacing and gives him a better height with the extra arm piece on the legs.
Yep. He was one of my first figures as a kid with the 2007 Soulless One. I lost him though. I think he either fell down the vent or one of my friends stole him. I'm still not sure where he ever went.
It is interesting to me that, for all of them I was content with the original, but then the upgraded versions just looked so much better when I saw them, and now I just prefer those.
think they are all great, but as everyone else says, General Grievous is just awesome. I am struggling (visual impairment is worse on screens) to make out all the pieces used, can someone post a wee inventory for me, please? Love the Bossk arms and height addition.

one of the things I didn't like about the general grevious that lego made was that you couldn't turn his head left or right but with this design you can which is really cool.
grievous design is AWESOME! Im getting back into lego and when I was a lot younger General Grievous was my favorite character in anything ever, the upgraded version makes his arms and body look waaay more like the movies/shows, and the new torso adds so much more play and variation with what you can do (eg: the scene where kenobi shoots him in the guts)
The grievous is amazing! I always thaught the ep3 lego grievous was to big like it was the same mold as for clone wars grievous. He is a bit thinner in the 3rd movie and you nailed that design🎉
The upgrade on Bossk wouldn’t work if you have his most recent version, which has his toes printed on. He’d have 2 pairs of feet if I used my Bossk lol. Looks great tho. That grievous especially, just simply amazing. Seriously thinking about upgrading my grievous now
i wonder if there is a better combination of parts to get better arm articulation for general grievous? the body is perfect but the arm articulation is the only thing lacking
i have found a solution but unfortunately for some it involves breaking a piece. the ends of the long rubber web slinging piece fit perfectly onto the bars that form his shoulders. connecting the arms to that piece instead of the bars allows for a lot better range of movement. i wonder if there are any pieces on their own that would fit in the same way
okay, to be honest this Grievous looks much MUCH better than what i expected, and now i need it, but i can't afford a new grievous figure and my current one has a lot damaged printing and loose parts :(
Agen Kolar and Saesee Tiin from the 2012 set Palpatine's arrest will also look up-to-date if you update their legs (Episode I Obi-Wan for Agen Kolar, and Episode II Anakin for Saesee Tiin).
Love the video. I like general grevious a lot more. Because the brick built torso reminds me more of lego. Then the first one just made me think of knock off lego. Also i think this video was a great way to mix it up compared to the first two.
i love that Grievous design, but i think that to make it the 2003 one it needs a few changes like the legs, they have a completely different shape in the cartoon that in the movie also the neck, but that's a bit hard to do cuz lego hasn't made a non-hunched grievous head :(
I believe they have made a non-hunched head, but it's for the older style of Grievous that was tied in with episode 3 instead of the TCW series. It's kind of in that odd/uncanny style that the older yoda head was in, but it might work
Built the general grievous and love it. Just reduced the waist height by one stud so only 2 studs tall and added 2 white wedge plates to the left and right shoulders
Gotta love how, aside from grevious, all of these are such small simple things that would cost lego basically nothing to do. Grevious i can understand as that would make him less playable imho but thats about it
Wich is why I take apart alll droids and grievious. Because even just standing still not being used. The links break. I could have had an droid army by now, but they have all been breaking something. Even normal arms on a minifig cracks up. Lego is like a car. You need to replace pieces from time to time😂
For R2’s third leg I use the cheese slope and 1x1 round plate with hole too, but instead of the short bar I use the lipstick minifigure accessory. Looks pretty much the same as your version, but I think it’s a cool alternative if you only have the lipstick piece.
that's a great idea, I've heard it reduces the gap between R2's body and open stud, because with my method there is teeny tiny gap there, but I don't have a lipstick piece :p
I prefer to use a half-pun with a stud on the end, with a cheese slope on the stud, then inserted in the peg hole, as this is what LEGO uses in the games, and works well.
The modifications on the figures make them all look so much better, they’re really impressive!, also I know it technically doesn’t connect, but you can use a curved tooth piece to make R2’s middle leg sit flat on the ground,
This video popped out on my main page an I don't regret watching it. When you were editing captain Antilles I looked randomly on my LEGO shelf and noticed the guy from dinosaur skeletons set has exact those dual-molded legs and I can actually make the modification myself, thank you :D
That Grievous looks awesome, great video! For my R2 I use 24246 & 32828 and from the side this looks pretty cool. It also flattens to nearly any surface as you can rotate the tile. Might be worth trying.
As simple fix to the R2 third leg, which is what I did with all my astromech droids, is to use the same triangle piece with a *”LEGO Half Pin with Stud”* technic piece
The R2 upgrade is something I've always done for my astros. But it does bother me that it doesn't meet the ground fully. Great upgrades all around though, especially grievous.
