I wish lego would make more sets like these. 10 bucks, three figs, small but cool build Edit: This is the most likes I've ever gotten which is pretty cool
i agree 15-20 seems more realistic, but battle packs I think is something different, they never did movie/shows based scenes in battle packs, it's usually just a lame vehicle while old small sets were focused on actual piece of the scene
You forgot inflation with a 20+ year difference between the old vs. the new. The $10 dollar sets would be over $17 today (Lego would probably round it up to $20) A $7 set from '02 would be over $12 today (Lego would round it up to $15). THINK.
yess, thanks for feedback on this one, I just realised that some people did not stare at old set pictures as much as I did :D will do next time for sure!
In 7113 Tusken Raider Encounter, the original set appears to feature a 74-z speeder bike, which is inaccurate to the movie. Thankfully, you seem to have correctly reverted it to the Zephyr-G swoop. Nice!
It's crazy how many current LEGO issues the return of this set format would fix. Inaccessible Minifigures? Fixed. Not enough bricks to use for custom builds? Fixed. If Lego just released these to appease Prequel fans while they charge 70 quid for their 10th TIE Fighter. It's a win win.
I miss the little Lego sets. They're a great small gift for the nephew that give him something to do that doesn't involve deranged predatory content that phones push on him.
This is so amazing. I had all these sets as a kid because my family didn’t make alot of money but mom and dad still wanted to treat me. This is really something else. Thank you
The retro sets have a super fun vibe to them. The newer sets miss the fun feeling that the originals gave. Like the first tie fighter they released; it wasn’t even the right color but it sure is cool as hell. Especially the pilot figure. I really appreciate the thought behind the original starwars legos. Or at least what I think the thoughts behind them were.
Back in the day, Lego set out to make a Lego Star Wars line. Now they strive to make a Star Wars line out of Legos. What I mean is that in the 2000s, Lego used what they had to make sets based on Star Wars scenes, even if they were a little inaccurate they had charm. Now they want to make the most accurate sets because they’re trying to go for a collectors market, not a toy market. So now they bend over backwards to try and make Star Wars toys out of Legos at the cost of the charm/soul.
I really like the building techniques used and my favorite was the speeder bike for how uniquely designed it was with the selection of parts. Rest were really good too!🤩
Those are actually pretty good for modern versions of the sets. Also those Droideka builds are great. Also, good use of the bucket handle on them as well.
Great builds! Every one was unique and good, contemporary re-imaginings of the OG sets. Super cool to see, and absolutely makes me wish we would get sets like this still. If LEGO released your builds as sets, they would all be instant buys. That said, I would have liked to see more time spend showing the finished builds (sort of like how set reviewers do) and less time seeing you actually build them. Even better would have been doing side-by-sides with the existing sets, really showcasing the updated versions - but of course, you'd have to already have all the original sets to do that. Unless people are trying to recreate your builds, which some people may but certainly nowhere near the majority of people watching the video, I think the video time would be much better used being able to see what your versions look like and/or how it compares to the OG sets than just seeing you build the sets. Overall though, good video, great builds, would love to see more! The set designs are good enough they deserve better presentation!
thank you so much for detailed feedback! Yes for me it was a struggle to provide value for both audiences, those who want to see it built and potentially recreate it and those who are more interested in the finished product and its' features, my ultimate plan is to learn how to do pdf instructions and show less building (maybe like a timelapse) and more of the product and the idea behind it and just link the insturctions in description. That said thanks again and stay tuned for more :)
one of the best speeder bikes i've seen lately! also absolutly love the boba fett rifle, its sucha simple build yet captures the look of the rifle perfecty
very lovely video idea. Due to nostalgic love for the subtheme, would you be interested in transforming some of the small Adventurer's sets? I imagine the miniature scale vehicles with 1 minifig to be difficult tho if it's not a car...
7101 is done already (spoiler: you can watch my shorts but I will post another 5 video soon) 7104 and 7106 lego pretty much did, so not sure if I will remake those
Very nice video. Like the Jabba's prize and the qui gon sets the most. I have the frozen Han and qui gon by themselves, and now want to build similar displays for them.
thank you! Actual Han figure fits to the carbon piece in that remake I did btw, but I decided not to include it because original one did not have it :)
I really loved those smaller scale set pieces when I was young. It's a shame they don't do them anymore, because I'd much prefer those than the microfighters or those awful mechs.
incredible builds - in future you should add pictures of each of the sets rather than just the name of them and then after each build have a side by side
I thought this was a great idea, especially adding in the play features. Two things i think would be interesting is to have the piece count for the updated version, and even if you don't own the old version, to still put a picture up side by side to compare them
Your Sandakin build is actually better than the original in my opinion. The speeder feels more in scale and really sleek. The shaping of the front is perfect with the exo-force arms of the bike is my favorite part. I don't think anybody has been able to match the aesthetic of the first Droidekas Lego made, mocs or sets, but at least yours kinda bridges the gap between new and old.
I worked at toys r us when the 7201 final dual set came out. I bought a few then, and later found it at Kay bee on clearance. I built an army of imperial officers and stormtroopers for an empowers arrival display. I quit collecting around the time they went flesh tone, rather than yellow. I put old obi wans hair in the officer to make Tarkin.
The cool thing about the han solo one was it was a set of two mini builds and a bigger build you could put together to get jabbas palace. This was such a cool format I wish they did again, much easier to buy the sets in bits than one massive purchase.
agreed! These days we rarely get "compatible" sets, maybe new tantive boarding counts but it's just a long hallway, would be fun to build a scene from multiple small sets
yess, thanks for feedback on this one, I just realised that some people did not stare at old set pictures as much as I did :D will do next time for sure!
I’d love to see Lego redo small Lego sets like this and charge about 10 dollars. It’s an awesome idea, we get cool Lego figures for cheap, and Lego gets more money from adults who like these sets because they’re nostalgic. It would be a great idea!
I hope to see a remake of old battle packs next! My first Star Wars set was the Hoth Rebel Battlepack from circa 2009 and it's actually what got me into Star Wars. I see other people commenting about their nostalgia but I'm too young to remember these sets.
This is something I've been meaning to do too. I had some of these sets and really wanted to get the others since they were tiny scenes where you get a small build with some cool minifigs. A good start for the Lego Starwars side of things. i owned the 3 sets on the bottom. But now they are all beat up and I've grown out of the classic minifigures in favor of newer more detailed figs. So This vid hit my inspiration to remake all my older sets and upgrade them visually. You should make a series out of this. I've already done an At-st, and also, not an old set but I made the Mando n-1 quite smaller too. Here is the huge listof sets I own that I wanna re build and improve without making them less lego-esque: Droid Escape 7106 Battle Droid Carrier 7126 Jedi Duel Dooku/Yoda 7103 Tusken Raider Encounter 7113 Twin-Pod Cloud Car 7119 Final Duel II 7201 Jabba's Prize 4476 Rebel Snowspeeder 4500 Clone Scout Walker 7250 General Grievous Chase 7255 Jedi Starfighter and Vulture Droid 7256 V-wing Fighter 6205 Tie Interceptor 6206 A-wing Fighter 6207 Slave I 6209 Y-wing Fighter 7658 -Naboo N-1 Starfighter w/ vulture droid 7660 -Jedi Starfighter with Hyperdrive Booster Ring 7661 -Hyena Droid Bomber 8016 -Darth Vader's TIE Fighter 8017 -Freeco Speeder 8085 -Anakin's Jedi Interceptor 9494 -Desert Skiff 9496 -General Grievous Combat Speeder 75199 -Anakin's Jedi Starfighter 75214 I've got a long way ahead of me but I'm going to enjoy every second of it. 4:04 im pretty sure the technique would only be considered illegal if it pushing the limits of what the lego piece can do. so basically if there are no stress marks on the piece when you click it onto another piece or if the piece has no stress marks when you remove it from another, you are good

Wish they would make sets like this again, seems like playsets are just reserved for higher price points and lower price points are always vechicles. Some small movie scenes with 3 figures $15-20 would be amazing
Would've been nice to get a picture of each set you remaking, without need to google it. Didn't passed the true Lego Star Wars fan exam to know each one of these
There were two more of these little sets. A little set called Final Dual 1 that had Darth Vader and the Emperor on his throne and a set with C3PO and R2-D2 at the door of Jabba's Palace. I owned all seven of these sets (and a lot of others) that I gave to a needy child, as I lost my home several years ago. Everything from the Hoth version of the Millenium Falcon to these little sets. Over a hundred sets in all, not to mention a few vintage sets I got as a child, including the original Knight's Castle. I kick myself everyday for giving them away.
Your builds make me wish Lego testing an Ideas-style vote for a 'nostalgia' set that would be part of the yearly lineup. Or maybe a May 4th GWP that is like the BD troop carrier, but takes the middle-tier purchase. Like what you did with the old $10 and below sets.
we need to get that anakin minifigure, and honestly a lot more episode two sets (besides clone sets) more often. when was the last time we got anakin, or obi wan, or jango
i like all of them. all show a scene from the various star wars flicks. while they have created a bigger updated one already, it would be interesting to see if you could build a small but updated version of vaders transformation set scene from revenge of the sith.
This is a great video so far (commenting at 3:51), but the second build hurt my soul cuz it included an illegal building technique (a building technique that can lead to your piece breaking) but yeah they look great and fun to build
The door is definatly illegal, you can see the stress on the flat plate. However, I believe it is possible to do this snot technique legally, using one of those new shorter side conntor bricks, but I don't have any of them to try it out.
I don't know for 100% sure (I wonder if there's a way to check also) but at least by the feel of it, it goes in and out nicely like all legal connections would so idk
ok but the fact they had the audacity to make an anakin massacres tuskens set makes me wish they made a set where its just hooded anakin with like three younglings and the actual build is just a locked door
I added a paulderon at my boba fett minifigure from the mech too before seeing this video, like this it's the perfect and most accurate boba fett minifigure so far
I wish lego would make more sets like these. 10 bucks, three figs, small but cool build
Edit: This is the most likes I've ever gotten which is pretty cool
10 dollars back then would now be worth 18 dollars today
These tiny sets would be like $15-20 nowadays and don’t we have something similar in battle packs and such?
I think these days it'll be either two figs for 10$ or 15$ for three, kind of like the minifig packs
i agree 15-20 seems more realistic, but battle packs I think is something different, they never did movie/shows based scenes in battle packs, it's usually just a lame vehicle while old small sets were focused on actual piece of the scene

THINK.
That build with the arches is a legal build, as long as no piece puts major strain on another unconventionally then it’s a legal build
Looking back, it's crazy they made a set of Anakin killing the sandpeople. Also crazy that after 25 years they've never once made a Shmi minifig

Very impressed with this brick built droideka! People have been struggling on these for years and this is a super solid look in my opinion!

LEGO was wild enough to make a set depicting a slaughtering of a whole tribe of people, i’m kind of glad they’re not remaking that one
Not just the men, but the women, and the children too
A sand people apologist?
@@jwebcoding7289 considering they’re an allegory for native americans during the old west era it’s a little hard not to be one
This EE-3 is Amazing!
Excelente trabajo, con pocas piezas haces algo muy detallado, nuevo sub, saludos
gracias y bienvenida!
Both Final Duel sets were among my very first Lego sets. I'm old.
Lego would be able to charge $50 for each of those
I love love love that Swoop Bike....
thanks, I love it too!
hey That’s pretty good❤
thank you!
"Tusken Raider Encounter" is a funny way of saying "anakin slaughtered all of them as vengeance" but suppose lego had to soften it up somehow.
shh don't tell them :D
Bro redesigned the Tusken, not only the men but the women and children too
ok but the fact they had the audacity to make an anakin massacres tuskens set makes me wish they made a set where its just hooded anakin with like three younglings and the actual build is just a locked door
haha yeah that'd be a fun set :D
The technique used for Jedi Defense 2 is not illegal at all
i use to have anakin with the tuskens when i was kid
Need to do this for 7201. It was my first ever Lego set and I'd love to have it again.
definitely do it, I personally have them both side by side on display, looks great :)
I added a paulderon at my boba fett minifigure from the mech too before seeing this video, like this it's the perfect and most accurate boba fett minifigure so far
Yess 🔥and also it costs not as much as ucs version
