@peterdixion Yes Dynasty was good , Even John forsythe said interview, that still wasn't the classic Dallas was and he was right. Even doe Dynasty still did well in the ratings.

@waltersabo8192 , Yes I do agree with you Aron Speilling was a great producer . Now I like Dynasty , I remember listening to interview by John forsythe saying Dynasty was hard show to make and it still wasn't the classic Dallas was. Even doe Dynasty did well in the ratings at the time.
Aw my mother, my aunts, cousins, we all watched this show religiously and after the show my cousins and I often called eachother on the phone to talk about the highlights and cliffhanger. R.i.p. mom❤

My Grandmother and I lived 150 miles apart, but when we got together, we always talked about Dyansty and Falcon Crest. Our favorite character from Falcon Crest was Emma Channing( Margaret Ladd), but we always called her Emma Samms. We first did it by accident, then later on purpose- I think as a tribute to both actresses.

This is mesmerising to watch , I used to watch it on British Television when I was 10 years old I remember even back then I was hooked. The cast the costumes the acting the glamour it’s beautiful all on screen Aaron Spelling was truly a genius. It’s pretty sad that not only they don’t make beautiful movies like they used, the era of glamorous soap operas like dynasty Dallas Falcon crest are sadly no more. 😢

They should have taken Dynasty... turned it into a 90 minute presentation and added some of the Colby characters, instead of creating a separate series. It would have been an absolute powerhouse!!
I wasn’t a fan of the Colbys. I agree it didn’t need to be its own series.
This was my grandfather’s favorite nighttime show (and he hated prime time soaps). He had to be in his chair every Wednesday night. :)

The opening intro to this show was so intense, that I needed to step outside for some air.
My twin sister and I used to watch this with our mom. Our dad used to call the show "Dy-Nasty".

Dynasty best prime time soap opera of all time I don't know why CW thinks they can replace the original series sequel are never as good as the real thing.
Well it's not a sequel and it's more a Gossip Girl type and it is good and very over the top. It's not the 80s. It's just a different take. Liz Gillies is a fantastic Fallon but they're more an extension of the types of families Gossip Girl had and not Dynasty. it's very much its own thing.

T.V. shows aren't grand like this anymore.I miss it, shows like Falcon Crest, Dallas, Knots Landing. Big budget and glamorous The 80's were the best.

every time the male charachters pops up they're accompanied with fountains, towers, waterflow, bottles etc. and the contrast .."the open ones', in Locklears case, a door. love the 80s mind game
Its the door to a safe indicating that she is a gold digger.
A lot of the male characters are juxtaposed with erect buildings with the shots often going up to reveal how tall it is or the fountains ⛲️ or a 🍾 bottle spilling or an oil well gushing does not go unnoticed!
When this show began I was in 7th grade and I was in my 3rd year of college when it ended..... interesting
Very impressive opening and always loved the opening theme. Really too bad the show had jumped the shark by the end of the previous season.
I loved dynasty
my dad and mom they like to watch alot.
Much as I love Dynasty, this was the beginning of the end for the show as it had jumped the shark a few months earlier.
The manchurian massacre was definitely a jump the shark moment. Though not as bad as the dream season from Dallas.

@@gaynorpatterson2915 They were in the spin off: The Colby's which dealt with Jeff's extended family and the rivalry between him and his cousin, Miles [ turned out to be half brother via Heston having an affair with Jeff's mother played by Kathryn Ross due to them both being in love with Fallon [ now portrayed by Emma Samm's whom I thought brought out the vulnerable side of the character and the less tarty, bitchy side that Pam had done, not that Pam wasn't great though ]. The silly bit was the UFO abduction storyline.

Yes she was. The actress and character were brought onto the show, to fill the HUGE void of Pamela Sue Martin's Fallon leaving. In my opinion, the show never recovered.

The difference between the classic show and the new one: the old actors exuded classiness and breeding, the new actors are like trash picked off the street and dressed in good clothes. Class always shows through.
It’s a lot like Battlestar Galactica that way. The writers of the reimagined series just don’t understand what made the original characters endearing.
I find the new actors entertaining than the old ones except for Dominique and Alexis
