One setting that I just discovered: you can turn on the ability to see exactly how the development lab has changed the players stats. Like it'll say "control by 10" or "infield range
Some decent trades there, I particularly like the one for the SP with team control. If you manage to stick around feels like collecting a wide range of 2.5 - 3 star prospects in trades is going to be the way to go. Hopefully then a few of them fully develop or get positive TCRs, or you can bundle 2-3-4 of them together for a better prospect at some point.
I also like the latest July trades you put together or agreed to thus far. Good stuff and you are positioned well money-wise; let's hope the Boss doesn't take that surplus and buy a new ranch in Montana. It's kinda obvious but I noticed that your team Def Efficiency has historically been top 6, but losing those key position players at season start really hurt your chances to turn batted balls into outs. I believe that is what was propping up the '25 and '26 A's pitching and losing the defensive advantage really hurt. Enough of Captain Obvious. 🤓 Oh, a request OSS- would you mind terribly turning on FaceGen for your players so we can put a face with all these new names? I would appreciate it! Hang in there man, I think you are doing great given the circumstances.
I know this is a challenging playthrough, but just how enjoyable is it? I had my moments with it too. I think things will get better but I think it may take a while.
Ha, that is a great question! I wouldn’t call it enjoyable at all yet, kind of feels like I’m reliving “Groundhog Day” every season. It’s been interesting, that’s for sure… if it doesn’t get a bit easier as the farm system starts to produce players then I will have failed, but think I may still be a couple seasons from seeing any material progress there…
Really disappointed that Manea proved such a bust for you. Really thought he might be solid enough to help push you to that .500 mark. Wasn't sure about adding Hamilton to that trade though. He's been pretty strong in your bullpen.
So this is just off the top of my head in terms of trade stuff before watching, have you considered enabling trading for draft picks? I personally feel that's a fair thing to turn on and in the end some of the guys you have might just be useful for nabbing a second or third round pick one or two drafts from now.
I have thought about it, but not seriously. My thought is it would just give me one more thing to try to exploit with the AI to make things easier for me. Now you could certainly argue i need to make things easier for myself to have any chance of success, but not a lever i am willing to use right now. If they let you only trade competitive balance picks like real MLB i would consider that, but i think widespread trading of picks would just let me take advantage of the AI and build an unrealistically deep farm system…

Thanks for the tip, I’ll have to figure out how to turn that one on!
@@oldschoolsportsdid you figure out how to turn it on? I can’t find it

I liked the trades that you did. I think you got decent value. As an aside, the correct way to refer to two or more gentlemen is Messrs not Misters.
Not in ‘murica…
In my Mets playthrough I actually played the A’s in the World Series in the year 2030. Maybe that’s your year

That path forward makes sense. Hopefully we’ll get a couple positive surprises in development… and the opportunity to stick around!

Can't win them all, and that trade may be a loss!
