- Today, we'll continue a time-honored tradition and take a look at my full collection of EDC gear, watches, knives, pens, and lights, and I'll show you the gems that have stuck around, and talk a bit about them.

Thanks for giving us insight into your "problem." Personally, I have more watches, fewer folders and way too many fountain pens. I can't even remember how many full bottles of ink I've collected. I share your pain. An empty drawer is a terrible thing to waste.
In Gratitude I Am fortunate I took Nicks advice and stay away from watches....
I can use the sun for a pretty good approximate or if I really want to get get detailed I don’t mind pushing a button on my phone or better yet just ask someone...like SIRI...LOL.

Hey Nick...great run down on your current collection. Both beautiful and practical collection of folding knives...and other EDC items. I mostly like your tool box. I’ve been looking on the secondary market for a Gerstner, without much success...but oh well. Happy New Year to you and yours...may you have a wonderful 2020.
Gerstner cases are designed for machinists. Who makes knives? Call them what you want, they are machinists. No trade has a more intimate relationship with materials, especially steel. So this makes perfect sense.

Kirk Veesaert lol I don’t have quite the extensive collection nick has but a little tradition or ritual I have with myself is every time I get a new knife I sharpen it and shave with it. Obviously with some exceptions like when I got a spyderco civilian lol. I’m stupid but not that stupid.

Nice video to close 2019. I am actually waiting for the same Gerstner International chest set, since my knife collection has grown from some 20 knives at the end of 2018 to close to 100 by the end of 2019 and need a nice storage solution to place them plus my other EDC accessories.

I've still got my Fenix UC35 (v1) that Nick recommended a while back. Looks like he doesn't anymore. Still a great light for the glovebox since I carry a smaller light for EDC.

I just store my knives and flashlights in a pelican case. I might consider getting one for my watches as well. A great way to store gear on the more affordable side of things.
The key is just making sure that you're not building up humidity in there. Look into some re-dryable silica packages

Great show and tell, and there is a fine line between hoarding and collecting..I should know...besides knives, I collect beer cans and whisky, the beer cans are empty, the whisky Is definitely not.

Knick, are you ever going to venture into Chef Knives..German, vs.Japanese ,Chinese, USA made.... Blade steels vary wildly. Handle material as well..kinda like folders.

Do you have a pen that you buy and keep in bulk in order to lend out or not worry about losing?
They look like engineer boxes for their precision tools... some of them are very pricey. I'm a mechanic by trade and my tool chest cost me over $5,000, not to mention the roll cart either. So, for me to say engineer boxes are expensive, believe they're expensive.
