Abby and Nate :That was a Great Video! You two had a blast flying and that is what this Hobby is all about! It was heart warming to watch . Thank you so much! I also just picked up this plane.
Some fancy flying there Nate. Doesn't look like that plane has any limits. Your flying was great Abby, nice crash at the end there Nate 👏👏😊😊. Very capable plane. Good review. ⚓⚓👍👍💝👍💗👍👍⚓⚓.
Nate, you can program elevator down when flaps go down so it keeps flying level. And a little clear tape would keep that canopy on if someone doesn't want to glue it.
Hi Nate and Abby I just purchased this plane . I thought this plane was the best one I've seen you guys review and has all the things I'm looking for in a plane so a big thanks guys for showing this plane cool! Cheers!
Great plane, the first one I owned had hundreds of miles under it's belt and many cloud surfing missions at 5,000+ feet.. However since it only has foam hinges it eventually failed and suffered a complete destruction. The new one I am building has hinges on all the flight surfaces. I would highly recommend you do it too if you plan on any long range flights or cloud surfing.
Glad to see that you have now flown and reviewed 2 planes that I own. Both are great and I will enjoy the maiden of them. I am just disappointed in myself for spending much more for them than the deals that you keep getting lol.
The way you are flying in this video if they fly like that, might be a good idea to reinforce the wings, wingtips, and underneath with package tape. 😎👍😄😋
Great video guys! Excellent camera work Abby👍🙂👍🙂👍. Even when it went into the sun and came back it was visible the entire time. Some of that has Got to go into a montage. Lol
Added the landing gear, lights and cut in some flaps. I forgot how solid this plane flies. The install of the front gear tiller will cause some to go insane, or be institutionalized, but other than that the upgrades were easy, but time consuming. The front wheel strut that comes with the Sonic is crap, but I had just finished upgrading the Eflite Viper’s landing gear, so I had the Viper’s old nose gear sitting on the table. Turned out both nose struts were the same length even though the Viper’s has the curly Q spring added. Rear mains are about as simple as it gets. Now it lands well on any surface, including some sketchy, unlevel, mostly grass strips.
Hey Nate, when I click on the link for the plane it doesn't seem to have the motors included. DId you also have to get them separately? Thanks for replying.
Looking at what sonicmodell has on banggood, if the ones you have had have been as good as they appear to be, you simply have to try those wings, the 600, 900, 1030, and 1213 mm, i cant decide which i like more
Pity that there's a price boost just based on your review, and would have liked keeping the PNP and lighting bundle available for reasonable. BUT the main reason for the comment, any time you have a twin motor like this you really should look at separating the motors into two channels so you can do differential thrust and get stupid with flat spins. Flat spins are not just for Ultrix. Also do you guys do any more traditional kit builds, like foamie profiles and such?
OMG! Awesome flying. I want to get into RC planes, but I am gonna wait until next year after the FAA reg's either go into affect or change in some way. What is your opinion and worries about the new reg's coming soon?
We left our comment and made a video talking about the subject. I'll say this though. No matter what happens, I'm not going to live in fear of what might happen. Especially when it's so far down the road. I will live life to its fullest every day and fly my planes. Even if something changes, odds are I can still fly my toys. If our government seriously ends up prioritizing foam toys over actual things to worry about, I'll be jumping ship, lol.
Dam ive never heard of sonic model before but this is a good plane. This plane have 0 tip stall. Flying that low while turning is very scary for planes that I own bc theu tend to have a slight tip stall but this plane seems like it's on rails. Good find guys!!!
Sonicmodell makes a lot of great planes...suprised you never heard of them: Binary nanop talon evo orbit dart dart 250G ar wing mini skyhunter talon gt rebel dart xl extreme f1 wing skyhunter skyhunter racing hd wing also the Kopilot stabilizer with return to home for $40!
I have looked everywhere for prop data for the motors that are in the power pack and can’t find anything. Was looking at alternative motors since I have my own servos and esc’s and don’t need the whole power pack kit.
Thanks guys I have this plane. Did you know that there's a camera Bay you can buy that fits in the space underneath and holds a GoPro camera. I've set mind up for FPV. Pan tilt camera on front 1 camera on top facing rear and GoPro underneath facing down in camera Bay. Also have the NAV lights and landing gear. Two 3000 packs can get 40 minutes flight time. Also have zohd co pilot light autopilot system on board with return to home. I love this thing. Thanks for the vid
Thank you for your nice demo, I was wondering if it came with landing gear? Guess I can look it up. Followed you guys for a long time, best wishes Mark B.
Yep...! All you have to do is provide everything the Plane NEEDS...! (For around $165 Bucks, that is!) Nice looking plane, but I think my money will be spent elsewhere. (I DO Love the design and flight characteristics, though!)
I’m sorry I’m going to unsubscribe do to my bank account I can no longer watch you any more. 😭 I just cannot afford this anymore. Nah, I’ll keep watching thanks for the video as always great job, man is this starting to get expensive... lol
Umx turbo timber, delta ray one rtf, or the little cub rtf. All by Horrizon hobby. Timber is the best one, but you will need to have a transmitter. Dxe is $60
Nate I doubt you've had time to add the lights, the landing gear, or flaps to the Sonic Binary. Lights and flaps were a few hours to install, but the front landing gear.... I had to look up who came up with this little set up. And the directions were worthless, just a picture. Turns out the front landing gear was designed by the Nazi's in World War II and given to Prisoners of War as a form of punishment. My advice, leave on the landing skid, buy the lights and cut in your flaps. Save the landing gear, give to someone you don't want to see for days, or you want to drive insane. It's the perfect gift for someone in Solitary Confinement. With that said, it's a fin plane to fly. Very steady, great in gusty winds. Really solid foam/airframe. Easy to takeoff and land. Thanks for putting the video together.
If you really want anything R/C Trust them. I have bought alot of R/c ,and they are a great rec for anything R/C you want to buy. I am truly a fan. They no what they are talking about. They are truly great on you tube. I have bought R/C just because they say so, and is all worked well. With R/c boats, hope you dont hit the trees in the water, lol, bought some of thoes boats really so cool, do you guys ever done R/C sailboats, there very cool. Just a thought. Love you guys.
Thank you for your video, 1st time I see this plane flying like crazy! Please note this is not a beginner plane or if you use it with a small battery (2200 4s or 3000 4s mah max battery) which is not really suitable for long range fpv. Using larger batteries will make this aircraft unstable at low speed.
Wow what a plane for $100!!! I've never seen any plane for $100 that can drift on while on the ground and fly back out like this!!! What a stable plane!!!! Vokantex rc you guys have a competition for fpv planes for around $100!! Better step your game up !!
U got buy one those water planes.. I'd like to see that.. lol!! And are u guys going try get redcats kaiju truck 1/8 ?? I see bunch other TH-cam guys buying them or getting them for bunch reviews on it.
I have a old Losi speed t that has been sitting for 3 or 4 years the remote doesn’t work now it did have some acid on the batteries but I cleaned it everything worked fine before it was sitting any ideas what it could be
This is a great plane and I have a few Sonicmodell planes myself and I'll be getting this one soon but the way you're flying this plane isn't what this plane is for or ment to do LOL This plane is made for long range FPV or mapping. It is too bad the electronics kit is NOT included for that $100 price tag. Very awesome plane though! You should get a Sonicmodell Skyhunter and check that out. There are 3 sizes for the skyhunter and I have the mid sized one. Very cool plane to review! =)
If you click on US warehouse, its on special for $89.00, but that's without electronics, motors, landing gear, etc. By the time you buy everything, it's $230. Quite a ways from $100. I think I'll look at the UMX Aerocommander again:-)
two totally different planes....try putting multiple cameras, pan and tilt, 40 minute battery, high power VTX and a GPS sytem with return to home on the aero commander...I love the AC but it is a different type of plane.
I can't believe how cheap it is. I was sure it was gonna be 250. WTH! So awesome! Do you reccomend a receiver that is very budget friendly? I think I am ready to buy a receiver so I can take advantage of many planes that are BNF. Thanks!
@john doe For me it is 88 dollars from US shipping. They recommend a receiver that is 50 bucks. And yes. A battery is 50 more bucks. But at least I will have the receiver. And. I knew it was BNF. for a 100 dollar plane BNF, this is amazing. The carbon Cub is over 300 bucks I think.
@john doe All good! You are just trying to help! I appreciate that!! I am a very new flyer with a small amount of hours under my belt. Fear is holding me back from getting better planes hehe. Buy plane. Crash Plane. Cry. LoL. But. Money wise. It makes sense to buy a receiver that can plug into BNF planes. But wich receiver do I buy. I am poor so money is very tight. Can you recommend a receiver that is very cheap but good enough and can run all of the planes?
@john doe why compare it to the CC....that'ts a completely different kind of plane. if "beginner friendly tech" is what you want you can inexpensively put that in the Binary

@@jaredrobson769 yep, so by the time it's all said n done the price is up there. I'm not saying it's not worth it but there's others i wouldn't mind emptying my wallet on lol.
Put this plane together (minus the FPV equipment. I’ll save that nightmare for a rainy 3 day weekend) I’ve prided myself on never looking a manual or a TH-cam video on a build over my 4 year/25 plane build, but this was the hardest. I’m still not sure how the ESC’s stay in place under the wing. The entire build the one thing that kept popping into my head was the line from “TR” In Talladega Nights when he said, “I gotta tell ya Granny, this blows!” This is a tough build. I love the plane, I love the sound produced by the motors, but I’m scared to death to fly it. I’ll of course maiden it without all the FPV equipment, and with a Lemon Rx gyro with stability. Lots of weird stuff going on with the build, like linkage the wrong length, wire lengths, flaps nubs you cut out yourself, a canopy you have to trim out as well as the plastic skid on the bottom. It’s built, it looks awesome and I have the backup replacement plane already in the Online Cart... There’s a lot to go wrong with this one.
Hey guys - Thought I would bug you to make a quick reply on an OLDER review you did - TheRcSaylors 2 years ago The HBX 12889 Thruster is an extremely unique RC! See my comment yesterday or basicaly - How has this Thruster held up? Have one in my cart on a few sites and waiting to pull the trigger depending on how well it has held up.
Nate, your flying is becoming pretty awesome! And your knowledge is obviously expanding!! That's great. And I am assuming that it is Abby flying during the drone shots, and she is doing a great job flying, too! Speaking of which...you really should talk about the current FAA proposal that would require a Remote ID (RID), similar to ADS-B used for remotely identifying aircraft for all unmanned aerial vehicles, that is, drones, model airplanes, etc., as well as having to pay a registration fee. The RID would probably cost a couple hundred dollars in of itself, plus registration fees. And only the major uav manufacturers, like DJI who have their aircraft certified by the FAA would be able to sell them in the US. It would basically render *all* other existing drones and model aircraft that were not under 250 grams illegal to fly in the US. Check out this video: Our Hobby...
Hey guys - Thought I would bug you to make a quick reply on an OLDER review you did -

The HBX 12889 Thruster is an extremely unique RC! See my comment yesterday or basicaly - How has this Thruster held up? Have one in my cart on a few sites and waiting to pull the trigger depending on how well it has held up.
Do a mini F-22 raptor jet
