Petit montage vidéo fait sur un de mes jams musicaux fait à 100 % avec mon MiniBrute d'Arturia. Les sons de synths, de même que les sons de drums, proviennent exclusivement du MiniBrute. De plus, j'ai illustré ici une facette plus calme du synthétiseur. Voici ce qui se passe quand la Brute s'endort et coule dans les abysses des songes...

There is no chance for that! But, with some noise, filters and enveloppe and maybe just a touch of a Brute Factor… cheers ! 🙂

Un morceau vraiment magnifique que j'ai découvert par hasard en recherchant de l'info sur le Minibrute. En quête de puissants sons de basse pour mes compositions, "Brute's deep dream" m'a permis de me conforter dans l'acquisition de ce synthé dans sa version SE. Encore bravo !

De Arturia, j'avais déjà la Spark et le Keylab et je suis allé direct prendre le Micro et le Mini chez notre fournisseur audio Sonovente ( car je suis intégrateur en solutions audiovisuelles ) et à deux pas de leur showroom

I also find this song really showcases not only Franco's very interesting composition, but the Arturia Mini as well. Well, and the great recording/production skills.Pushing a button and pretending to play only works with big name "producers" with too much cash and little imagination or heart. Minibrute has a softer side, who knew!

Il est vrai que quelques fois ça peut être frustrant la synthèse sonore, surtout dans des contextes, comme ici avec le MiniBrute, où nous n'avons pas accès à des pré réglages numériques prêts à l'emploi. Mais quand on se donne la peine durant plusieurs soirées de paramétrer nos synthétiseurs, cela fait du bien pour l'ego bien placé ensuite !
francolamuerte Tout à fait Franco! Tu as absolument mille fois raison,l'emploi d'un synthé mono est tres fin pour obtenir quelquechose,avec juste ce qu'il faut d'effets aussi!

sounds good man! i love the brute for it's glitchy, broken, screeching sounds, but it also does an awesome job with smooth, dark, and beautiful sounds, which you have showcased very nicely. rock on ^__^

Damn that snare sounds good! I can make a great sounding tom, bass and hat on the Minibrute, but all my snares sound terrible. Great job on this!
Thank you illDiology ! I worked hard on this snare. It was a very long " try and mistake " process ! I don't know if I would make a good quality snare an other time ! It's the magic of analogic manipulation !

Sexy track! I like the slow, soft sounds. It can be hard to get them out of the Minibrute, but you pulled it off!

Je me suis intéressée à ta chaine car j'ai trouvé beaucoup de point éminant, la guitare que tu pratiques vraiment très bien. De plus, je comptais m'acheter le minibrute et je suis donc tombé sur tes morceaux et tes tutos. cela ma plus que convaincu d'investir pour un premier clavier analogique. et pour finir j'aime bien les ambiances horrifiques que tu produits, cela correspond au projet live que je suis entrain de monter. tu es un artiste dans lequel je me retrouve. Je te contacterais peut être pour d'éventuels cours lorsque je serais en possession de mon clavier :) .

Ah tu parles français ! lol Merci à toi ! Alors pour le snare, évidemment je n'ai plus le paramétrage précis que j'avais fait étant donné qu'il n'y a pas de sauvegarde de patch possible ( sinon les feuilles de sauvegarde ou une photo, mais j'suis paresseux pour ça et j'aime l'idée que chaque compo est unique ). Mais je peux te dire que j'ai travailé ¸avec le générateur de bruit du MiniBrute, avec un Low Pass Filter avec une certaine dose de résonance, une enveloppe de filtre courte et une dose de Brute Factor !

En effet, quand on slaque un peu le Brute Factor et qu'on ne monte pas trop fort les sliders d'oscillateurs et qu'on utilise des enveloppes très lentes le MiniBrute peut être ample, souple et profond. For the kick : Noise Generator as a sound source. Some filtering and Brute Factor + a short filter enveloppe attack ! :)

francolamuerte De rien c'est moi qui te remercie pour ton partage,j'en ai un minibrute parmis mes synthé depuis le début,je me remet petit à petit au son,il faut dire que lorsque tu creuse il excelle avec un seul oscillateur il est très efficace,je l'ai associer dès le départ avec un rocket au cul comme 2 ième oscillo les 2 ensembles c'est une bonne assos et en ce moment je l'experiment avec un de mes waldorf pulse,un pulse + donc brancher en cv c'est de la bombe les deux ensemble,bref bonne continuation entre passionné on se soutient

Really enjoyed your two songs with the Brutes. Very original sounding and also managing to soften the sound and make it sound so different than what you would expect from most of the videos on youtube of these two synths is really impressive. I really did not know it was possible to make these softer evolving pad sounds. I imagine the effects over top help take away a bit of the more of the harsher edge.
Do you use software effects mostly? Anyhow it sounds great!!
Like you mentioned it would be really interesting to compare the sound with and without effects just to hear what kind of sounds from the brute are sounding so soft and evolving in the final mix.
Thank you AVincent2 ! I use some of software FX of course ( EQ / Compression / Reverb / Delay / Chorus / Multiband Compression / Limiter etc. ). But the basic sound without FX is already smooth. I upload a compartive mp3 ( with and without FX ) with my other jam ( Arturia MicroBrute & MiniBrute Song : Lush ). I post it this compartive mp3 today on my Facebook. Although the fx really make the completed piece sound fantastic I see what you mean that the original sound is still really smooth as well. I think you have some of the best Mini and micro songs on youtube. I just recieved the microbrute and really like it. I'll let you know if I ever upload anything from my microbrute.

Beautiful sounds. Do you believe the Minibrute has a softer side the micro doesn't? (maybe because of the double EG).
I think the Minibrute have a " softer side " more than the Micro Brute because the Minibrute have a Noise Generator, and with a little help of this noise generator we can blur the edge of the raw waveforms.

Merci 2RoMaideN ! Impossible d'avoir les réglages puisque je ne les ai pas moi-même. C'est ce que j'aime avec ces Brutes, ça fait vraiment des compositions uniques. Ceci dit, j'envisage peut-être de faire un tutoriel pour montrer comment obtenir des sonorités de nappes calmes, spacieuse et chaude avec les Brutes d'Arturia !

Hello Joey Agrelo. My cam is the Panasonic HDC-TM900. I Use After Effects for the vidéo editing and some effects such as text, fade in, fade out, some grain fx etc. On my monitor here it's only the Windows Media Player ! :)

Yeah en effet, même pour moi parce que je ne fais jamais l'effort de sauvegarder mes patchs ni par les feuilles de papier, ni par des photos des interfaces. Le truc c'est que quand je pars vraiment dans mes inspirations, je ne suis plus le " Franco La Muerte pédagogique " mais... " l'artiste " dira-t-on. Et mon art vient avec une part de " gossage " comme on dit au Québec. Avec une part de heureux hasards légèrement contrôlés disons. Bon c'est pas grand chose, mais dans cette vidéo je montre au moins quel a pu être souvent ma logique de synthèse pour me créer des percussions de type " snare " avec le MiniBrute. I want to buy a minibrute too and i'm not allowed to play chords on a monophonic synth right ? so how you've managed to play the chords at the beginning ? can i use for a example a chords plugin or something like that :P ?

Thank you Philipp Kleingarn ! A MonoSynth don't allowed you ton play chord, it's true. But, like my composition here, you can generate chord with a MonoSynth with a multitrack sequencer. I record the "bass" track of my polyphonie first, then I record the " alto " track and then the " soprano track " of this resulting chord. Cheers !
francolamuerte I think that multi-tracking is like unknown areas for many used to massive 128 voice sample playback synths. Good work!

Is the Minibrute "naturally" out of tune like that? I am getting one soon, and I actually hope that it doesn't track very well. I have enough synthesizers that stay in tune and I really want one that goes nuts on its octave scale :) That is where the magic comes from!
Yes the Slope and Offset of MiniBrute are not perfect.

Merci à vous edourdvdv ! Pour les drums avec le MicroBrute c'est plus difficile, étant donné qu'il ne possède pas de générateur de bruit ( Noise ) comme sur le Minibrute. Mais en utilisant l'auto-oscillation du filtre et en générant une enveloppe de filtre rapide et appropriée, il y a sans doute de quoi faire ! :)

how'd you manage chords on a monophonic synth?
/ kurp / ok, take a C major chord for instance. First recording 1-root C, second recording, 2- third E, and last recording for the fifth, G... and so on ! Cheers !
