William Angel: Using the Leiapix 2D to 3D Conversion App to Produce Stereoscopic Images

His slideshow illustrates how he has used the Leiapix 2D to 3D conversion app to convert some of his regular photographs into stereoscopic images. He believes that these images illustrate some of the situations where a 2D to 3D image conversion yields better results than taking two images in sequence that are slightly offset ( using the “cha cha” step to the side method) and then combining those two images into a stereo pair. This would include situations where there are people and animals present in the scene.

Facebook has a 3-D conversion also but it just moves back-and-forth in tune with the 3-D. You have to turn the phone one way take a screenshot turn the phone the other way take a screenshot and then intentionally placed the two images together in the parallel format. It doesn’t do badly.
