This is so helpful, thank you man! Getting my Vektra Neo soon hopefully, ordered it on black Friday. Trying to gather all the info I can before I get it, and these videos really helps me out!
This is super helpful. I saw a stuttering ignition someone made for a profiee that flashed white, went black, then lit up red. Been trying to emulate that on the CFX. The font was called Senate Majority. Wondering if I can program the pon and poffs myself or something.

Hey, great Video! Did U use an unstable blade profile for the Video? I want to have a normal flickering blade with a white ignition on and off. Whitch is the right for it? Didnt get it right at the video.
Hi, could you tell me your blade profile settings for the one you are using? I really like the red/orange flow profile like that. I know how to go about it, but when I copy the Jedi Fallen order ones from Nick’s spreadsheet, I can’t really tell much of a difference. Also, when I try to do this and turn the blade on and swing it, the swing noises don’t play until a few seconds later. Do you know how to fix this? Thank you
Hi been watching a lot of you videos, I been looking around how to recreate the ignition they use for "the tragedy" in kyberphonic channel. Starts with the first color and kind of transition to another with color white in the middle.
I have a cfx saber and a Proffie. I noticed the Shock baton font on Proffie starts the ignition on both sides of the saber and the CFX only ignites from teh bottom. is there a way to get the CFX font to behave the same as the Proffie Shock baton?
So if I bought a neopixel lightsaber from aliexpress, is there away to add custom ignition/retraction? I really need to know if such a thing is possible. Thanks!
Hi lando! I really enjoy your vids and really helpful!! The best part is your “real” and it shows so thanks!! So on the topic of your vid, (I’ve been out of saber game since around black series 😭) I have the new Sabertrio heavy grade neo Senza ordered and have been vigorously researching and came across a font (I can NOT find any info on 🤬!!!) for Darth Sidious that had the best ignition/retraction and swing I’ve heard and seen! Like a pre power up before flash pon and almost like the star flake poff!!! Only vid I’ve ever seen it in was Sir James mmp 2.5 korbanth custom review @ around 22:18, the second Sidious font preon and off!! Not sure if it can be done on CFX vs Proffie but I’m really eager to find this font and your very knowledgeable with both lol! Thanks in advance!!
Unfortunately, that sort of effect is not currently available on CFX boards, only on Proffie. And typically, the blade effects that you see are customized through the soundboard, not from a single soundfont.
Lando Sabers ok gotcha, that’s what I was wondering about but not quite there yet w code but soon! Do you by any chance happen to know who or a link to “Fernando”?! I hear him referenced in a few vids but can’t find anything or where to get or check out his fonts?! Even if he only does proffie id like to see what he’s got for when I do get a proffie saber!
@@NeoGarrett9 I believe that's referring to Fernando Darosa, who does development on the Proffie soundboard. Proffie is an open-source board, meaning anyone could develop for it, but I think he is one of the top developers.
This entire video only uses one soundfont: "The Second," by Kyberphonic & KSith. It can be found on Kyberphonic's website, and comes with the Proffie version in the folder as well!
Hey man quick question. The tip flare color on my saber is this lime looking color while yours looks white here. Do you happen to know what config parameter I would change to fix this?
So you’d need to change the color of your flash on clash to change the color of the flare. You’d need to see which color profile you’re using (start_color in your font_config.txt of the specific font), and then go to your colors.txt file. Once you find the corresponding color profile there, you’d need to adjust the fcolor parameter in that profile accordingly. Mine is set to white because I have the fcolor set to 1023, 1023, 1023, 0. Hope that helps!
Hey so all the details about my saber are shown in my first video, as well as my Q&A video. It’s a Sabertrio Vektra, in Matte Black Anodize finish, with a 32” Neopixel Heavy-Grade blade. They can be bought on Sabertrio’s website at sabertrio.com and their store reopens on August 31st.
@@dugoo3405 Yep! Sabertrio makes 1000% sure that every hilt they design has no sharp edges, so that they can be spun and played with in a comfortable manner.
It really depends on your height/arm length. I am only 5’9, with average length arms, and I personally favor the 32” blade. My blade is also heavy-grade, which also adds a substantial amount of weight over its mid-grade counterpart. The 36” blade is “standard” in that it is the correct size per the movies, and is the default when buying from Sabertrio, and most companies. The 32” just felt like a better option for me since I’m not very large, and it would allow me to swing it comfortably. The 36” Heavy-grade would have been extremely heavy for my taste, and would have thrown off the balance of the saber quite a bit. The same can’t be said for the mid-grade versions of the 32” and 36”, as they are, if I remember correctly, less than half of the weight of the heavy-grade blades. It’s all personal preference, but I prefer the 32” heavy-grade because it’s not too long and not too heavy. I was very adamant about getting a heavy-grade blade just in case I hit the saber on things. Hope that helps!
@@LandoSabers thank you so much. This helps me decide, as I am 6'2" so I will probably be getting a 36". The only other question I have is would a 36" heavy-grade weigh so much as to be uncomfortable or super unbalanced? Would it be better to go with the 32" regardless of my height?
One of my buddies, Darth Koopa, is 6’2 and he uses a 32” blade on his Sabertrio Reaver. If you check out his video “The Most Realistic Lightsaber”, you can see how it looks compared to his height. I personally cannot speak to exactly how the 36” heavy-grade would feel, but I do know that it is rather heavy. I guess it depends on your strength as well.
Yes! In each sound font’s “font_config.txt” file, there are parameters for Blade Timings, meaning you can tune the ignition speed to your liking by changing the timings in milliseconds. I sorta show that in my video about sound fonts :)

It will likely be set to 0 when you buy the font. The blade timings is probably something else I will change, as I want it to be a bit slower to be accurate to the scene at the end of Rogue One.
Lando Sabers how do you know which sound font you are changing? In other words, if I want a different ignition for a specific sound font how do you know which one you are editing?
@@danielburke2973 When you change an ignition or retraction style, you're changing it through a specific blade profile, not sound font. Each sound font has a "start_blade" parameter in its font_config.txt file. That number pertains to a certain blade profile in the saber's config.txt file. I want to say that Sabertrio already configured 6 or 7 blade profiles, pre-installed. Within the config.txt file, there are the style_pon and style_poff parameters. By changing those parameters to the numbers (0-9) that correlate to your desired ignition or retraction (which are shown in the video and in the screenshot from the CFX manual), you can activate those functions. You can have 20 sound fonts that all use the same blade profile, meaning that every sound font will have the same ignition and retraction. You could also have 20 sound fonts that use 20 different blade profiles, meaning that you can *technically* customize the ignition and retraction for each sound font, because only one sound font is using each blade profile. I personally have all my original trilogy sound fonts set to an original trilogy blade profile I added, meaning all of those sound fonts have identical blade effects and ignitions/retractions to the original trilogy lightsabers in the movies. Same goes for the prequel and sequel trilogy sound fonts (minus Kylo Ren, as he has a different blade profile for the unstable blade effects), so each of the groups has its own blade profile, which I apply to all the sound fonts that fit the description. Hope that helps!
