Bam grew up spoiled with no responsibility for his actions. His parents obviously loved him, but did him no favors by letting him running amuck. I used to get anxiety watching how he treated his parents, while everyone else thought it was ‘cute’.
Yeah, this definitely goes back to when he was a kid. His parents loved him but didn't give him boundaries and that lack of boundaries is now bearing self destructive fruit.

People are trying to help him and the amazing Dr. Phil is freely giving his valuable time to help him and he's resisting. Stop thinking and just accept the help.

Your Worst Nightmare I’m only 21, went to rehab in 2014 and I know exactly how it goes. Definitely not something easy but if you have the right people and team around you, you can get sober but after that it’s all up to you to stay sober.

Its going to be a rough road for Bam. I have partied like him into my 30s now I am 45 and have not done drugs for 10 years, but now that I am clean I feel the effects of all that abuse from my younger years, mentally an physically. And just 3 yrs ago I lost my 8yr old daughter, so trying to get by in life has been extremely difficult.

I grew up watching Bam on tv and I've always known things would go south eventually. I didn't think it would get this severe though. I really hope he accepts help fully and gets better.
As a recovering alcoholic/addict myself I disagree with their strategy here. You need to treat the substance abuse first, get all that junk out of his system. Then you can start chipping away at the psychological and physiological issues.

I mean if you relieve the stress , it'll be easier to quit. I had to literally tell people I left the country so I can get sober. I live in Vegas and drugs are everywhere, I had to be in my house for months to get away from it. I told my mom I didn't trust myself going to work alone cause I'll just skip it to get coke. I was 22 getting driven by my mom and having her make sure I go to work, it was embarrassing but worth it. 2years clean, proud of it every day
substance abuse is just a symptom of the underlying problem, hes been to rehabs that obviously doesnt work

But in this case, Bam isn't abusing drugs (there was only Adderall found in his system) and he isn't crazy because his family was plotting against him to take his money.
He lost his best friend in the world. He didn't know how to handle that pain, so he turned to whatever he could to numb it. Eventually you can only numb it for so long until nothing works anymore and that pain comes out even stronger than before
I've lost a lot of people as well but didn't turn into an addicted blob of self pity.

Brandon Novak was homeless and selling his body for dope. If both him and Steve-O can get sober, so can Bam.
I feel like even though it didn’t seem like it at the time that Steve-o actually wanted help. I think Knoxville’s intervention helped him but he had to do the rest on his own. Which I feel is the big difference between Steve-o and Bam.
Bam lost his best friend in the universe. I can't imagine what that would do to me. Drugs and partying aside, losing that bond is core-shattering.

When I was a kid, I remember going to blockbuster and seeing a lot of Viva la Bam on the PSP shelves. I didn’t know what it is obviously because I was a kid until decades later 2021 (21 going to be 22 this year) saw the same exact Viva La Bam Video for PSP but in a Thift store and I said to myself in my head “let me buy this and see what is all about”. Paid like $3 dollars for it, go home, put in and play the video on my psp (I’m old school lol) and saw some episode and I got to admit it was funny and stupid at the same time similar of some TH-camrs, Instagram users today done like Bam however some will be highly controversial like the girl who ate the tampon, Boonk Gang stealing Dounts, The Joker guy tattoo he’s face etc. But It’s sad how the long run all the stupid things people done will come back and effect him. It was just a matter of time. Sorry for the book lol
I'm 23 and working really hard at not slipping down a bad path. Been through some trauma, have leaned on drinking daily for a long time now. Last couple years are kind of a blur. Burnt a lot of bridges, drove a lot of loved ones away. The last few weeks I've done really well. Starting to gain some clarity. When Doc asked Bam "but are you willing to live?" after Bam just said he'd die for his child, I felt that. That immediate stumped-edness, like damn Phil, I didn't expect you to ask me that, and it struck me to my soul so profoundly that I don't have a response right now. Powerful stuff man. Pulling for you Bam, it doesn't have to be like this brotha

Once you get clean all those emotions and everything you said / did have to be dealt with the proper way.. And all the shame and guilt of everything youve put everyone through

It's sad to see someone who you grew up with in a way suffer like this. But it's even worse when they are surrounded by people who not only love him and are willing to do anything to help him, but also by people who have been where he is or arguably even worse off, know exactly what he is going through and would be invaluable to his recovery like Steve-O and Novak...and still pushes them away and chooses to continue down this path.

The amount of denial he has for his age is scary. Delt with addicts all my life, and they only change when they take responsibility of their actions and are willing to change. Bam is about the furthest thing from that and it seems to just get worse. Hoping the best for him and his son, but this was soo hard to watch.

@Valo B It's not the same, it's just similar.. Extremely high amounts of adderall can induce meth like highs, but you would have to take over one hundred milligrams at a time, way more than an average prescribed dose.. Bam would run out of his script in the matter of days doing that and then what? Then he needs something to replace it.. What's an easy and cheap alternative? Meth, it lasts longer and hits way harder..
Normal doses of adderall do not produce meth like highs or symptoms..
@Valo B You are correct but it's not 100 percent amphetamine, there's a lot of dextroamphetamine as well, but it hardly matters.. Adderall is never prescribed in amounts high enough to induce meth like highs. Unless you are taking six doses at once, adderall won't make you tweak..
I abused adderall in the past, up to 150mg a day and it was certainly similar to a meth high, but nobody should be taking those amounts.. At prescribed doses, adderall shouldn't get you high, especially after the first few days of taking it.. Adderall and meth are similar but meth is still stronger, like comparing codeine to heroin, they're both opiates but one takes much less to achieve the desired effect..
My point is that for Bam to go into psychosis like that, he would need more than his standard adderall script to do it.. This is weeks of sleep deprivation, malnutrition and high, high amounts of various amphetamine based stimulants.. Not "20mg a day" of adderall..
Viva La Bam was my show back in the day, so this just makes me sad.
He went from depression to despair with Ryan's death. He never matured he stayed stagnant emotionally. He is reliving his years at the house when everything was happy. Hes continuing that lifestyle. That's how he copes. He needs therapy for how to deal with LOSS.

mannn i grew up on these guys...i think the death of Ryan really was the drop for Bam...he was always hyper and wild...but SteveO was the one you knew who wouldn't make it...yet SteveO has turned his life around...I know Bam can do that too...
So update on a few things. As of posting this (June, 27th 2022) Bam is currently missing from rehab. I see in the comments that a lot of people think his problems come from his grief of losing Ryan Dunn, but according to a recent podcast interview with Steveo, Dunn was present at his first intervention. So he’s had this problem for over a decade now. My thoughts are prayers are with you Bam. You can get through this.
I bet Bam is a great father, I just hope he can get everything in his life figured out. Best wishes for you Mr. Margera!

I grew up skateboarding and bam was one of the best out there. He has unlimited talent and capabilities. I cried when I saw this. You have my prayers Bam. Be a instrument of hope and come back.
I had a depressing childhood. Bam's show was one of the few things that actually made me smile. It pains me to see him like this today. I really wish and hope that he will get over his problems and get better. He is too awesome to be suffering like this. He deserves better. Don't give up,Bam.
