If you have a loved one suffering from addiction don’t give up on them!!!!! My momma never gave up on me. In and out of prison for 25 years. She was always there for me. I'm going on 7 years. The first few years were really hard but nowadays I don't even think about it anymore. Every once in awhile a song or a movie or something will trigger a memory in my mind to where I want to go out and get fucked up but I just don't. Stay strong my friend

I feel him when he said it was tough hearing his mom suffer in pain. My moms passed in 2018 from cancer and it was the hardest thing to see her waste away like that. I’m glad she is at peace and miss her everyday. 😞

I'm very impressed how candid he is about alcoholism. He owns it and calls it what it is. Many folks just try to hide the fact or change the subject. This is probably how he's stayed sober for so long.
It's because America is a conservative Christian country, we are use to pretending everything is perfect and we're in some fantasyland, people pray every day then sin in private at night by drinking and doing drugs and they're ashamed of this so they'll never talk about their problems. I think we all question God or whatever power we believe in at a certain point in our lives.My nephew died in 2018 from stage 4 lung cancer.He was 9 months younger then me.It maihd me face my own mortality and take a hard look at my life. It really bothered me to see how the cancer ate up his flesh. When I went to see him in the nursing home hr was a walking skeleton. I touched him on his shoulder and there was nothing but bone with maybe a quarter of an inch of skin.So my point is that we all leave here but we don't know how or when so we should treasure each moment we spend on this planet.Glad I met a wonderful person who is still in my love fe and we comfort each other.
I mean that's under the assumption that god intervenes with the reality of life. People think god if he exists is this personal lifeline for them. Maybe he's someone that created this world and everyone in it and he allows mother nature to take place and doesn't intervene.
Yup unfortunately we live in a world ruled by sin and death so terrible things happen to anyone. God will put everything right in the end though this period of time will be a grain of sand in eternity
I always felt like Dunn was level headed enough that he would've eventually gotten help. It sounds like he was aware of his problem and that's a good start but unfortunately it was too little too late. Can't express how proud I am of Steve-O though. What an inspiration. It's so good to see him turn out this mature and living the sober life to the fullest.
This made me tear up a bit, all the cast of jackass, wildboyz, viva la bam, etc. have been through hell and back and basically seen it all, and to see steve o out of all of them being sober and finding himself really says a lot. I’m glad he’s grown from all this

My husband and I have met Steve O he's a good guy and kind person. I am so glad he got sober and change his life. Addiction is a hard battle I have seen people I love battle drugs and alcohol. Seems like the only time it changes for the good when the person decides to fight for themselves. If not they end up dying and their family and friends hurt forever.

I heard that too. This interview was so sad. He presented as such an asshole idiot for so many years but here he you really see how humbled and human he is.
Watched my dad die of cancer over three years, heard his cries of pain many days, i was 17. Its an experience you do your best to forget and naturally as time goes by whenever you remember them, its when they were in their prime and you forget the pain they endured. They live on through you. Stevo had to find ways to cope and overall i think he’s displayed immense fortitude through all he’s accomplished.
My mom went through cemo and all with pancreatic cancer. It's been now four years and I still ain't over it by a long shot. To see the dearest and loving person to wither away and to change because of the disease was so fucking traumatizing that I just barely cope with it. I can relate to you Steve... I'm sorry for you momma. We only get one right and to see them go like that? Peace brother. Miss you mom.

Childhood friend got a severe headache and died in 2-3 hours (at the hospital) of a brain aneurysm at 22yo. Really sad but Steve-O’s description of his mom’s 5y ordeal makes me thankful my friend didn’t suffer a similar fate.

Weirdly enough, I can relate to Steve-o a lot when he says “death in general, I can handle it without breaking down”. My father was murdered not one block away from where we lived while he was at work, & while devastating… it was my first time dealing with death & I came out it , changed but stronger. I grieved, we went through the legal proceedings, but I was able to keep it together for my mom and family. A lot how Steve-o describes it, I think we have similar takes and ways to handle death
15 years ago I would have never in a million years predicted that Steve-O could develop into such a mature and articulate interesting person. Kudos to him and all his recent success, I'm glad he pulled himself together so he can show the world exactly what he's capable of. I have a feeling he hasn't even scratched the surface yet.
Yeah, I can remember when being sober seemed strange to me and I thought it wouldn't be any fun...now I look back at those dark days and it hurts to think about how much time I wasted chasing a buzz...but feels great knowing it's over. Almost seems like a whole different lifetime ago
@@wagstag89 everyday. The first year was tough, trying to remember who I was befire addiction took ahold of me. I am happy, content. I find joy watching my toddler grow and play. She gave me a sense of rejuvenation towards life again. To just take pleasure in the small things and not sweat shit I cannot change. It is like a whole new world once the fog of addiction has lifted. I am grateful and thankful for my sobriety everyday.

I find Stevo inspiring. I’d like to chat with him. I am in a wheelchair and have struggled with pain medication all my life. I try my nuts off to do the right thing and stevo kind of shows me i can do it if I try.

We picked up Ryans brother, a Navy SeAL, up and gave him a DV escort on emergency leave to the airport in Kuwait. It was a trip when he heard he passed and even crazier that his bro was deployed and headed home via our team. Glad to have been able to help him get home quickly for his brothers funeral. RIP Ryan

Congratulations 🎉 I've been clean 10 years, so I get it. When ever I get "squirrely" I play the tape of my last high, my last drunk and it is not pretty. I know I probably sound like a 12 step cult leader, but it is life or death. Just like the book says jails institutions death.
I'm going on 7 years. The first few years were really hard but nowadays I don't even think about it anymore. Every once in awhile a song or a movie or something will trigger a memory in my mind to where I want to go out and get fucked up but I just don't. Stay strong my friend

The sober, mature Steve-O has come so far from how he once was. I'm really impressed with how thoughtful he can be.
I'm very impressed how candid he is about alcoholism. He owns it and calls it what it is. Many folks just try to hide the fact or change the subject. This is probably how he's stayed sober for so long.
It's because America is a conservative Christian country, we are use to pretending everything is perfect and we're in some fantasyland, people pray every day then sin in private at night by drinking and doing drugs and they're ashamed of this so they'll never talk about their problems. Religion has people thinking they need to be perfect or they should be ashamed of themselves.

Never seen him even remotely close to crying until 3 minutes in when he mentions his mother. I’m 3 years sober from alcohol last March, it’s not easy. I have way too much respect for Steve and what he does now.

I think we all question God or whatever power we believe in at a certain point in our lives.My nephew died in 2018 from stage 4 lung cancer.He was 9 months younger then me.It maihd me face my own mortality and take a hard look at my life. It really bothered me to see how the cancer ate up his flesh. When I went to see him in the nursing home hr was a walking skeleton. I touched him on his shoulder and there was nothing but bone with maybe a quarter of an inch of skin.So my point is that we all leave here but we don't know how or when so we should treasure each moment we spend on this planet.Glad I met a wonderful person who is still in my love fe and we comfort each other.
I mean that's under the assumption that god intervenes with the reality of life. People think god if he exists is this personal lifeline for them. Maybe he's someone that created this world and everyone in it and he allows mother nature to take place and doesn't intervene.
Yup unfortunately we live in a world ruled by sin and death so terrible things happen to anyone. God will put everything right in the end though this period of time will be a grain of sand in eternity

I always felt like Dunn was level headed enough that he would've eventually gotten help. It sounds like he was aware of his problem and that's a good start but unfortunately it was too little too late. Can't express how proud I am of Steve-O though. What an inspiration. It's so good to see him turn out this mature and living the sober life to the fullest.

Yeah I used to watch them since the tv series and bams old movies up until their last ensemble film and man how far have they came , and I believe that in time the ones that haven't recovered yet will come back just like Steve-o did
John Ahn definitely, I hope bam gets better, I know it hit steveo hard but I can only imagine how hard it hit bam, they were the closest. If Steve O can do it so can bam. It’s crazy to see them all mature and clear minded from when they very first started out, I remember how tragic Ryan’s death was, even I shed a tear about it, sad to see a young life lost from being reckless but it set an example for the others that they could’ve had the same fate.
This show has become therapeutic to me. We're all humans living/suffering in our own ways. Rich powerful celebs maybe more so.

My husband and I have met Steve O he's a good guy and kind person. I am so glad he got sober and change his life. Addiction is a hard battle I have seen people I love battle drugs and alcohol. Seems like the only time it changes for the good when the person decides to fight for themselves. If not they end up dying and their family and friends hurt forever.
I love how open and transparent he is. It’s amazing how much of a turn around this guy has made. Changing your life is possible! Steve-O is a shining example of change and devotion

Watched my dad die of cancer over three years, heard his cries of pain many days, i was 17. Its an experience you do your best to forget and naturally as time goes by whenever you remember them, its when they were in their prime and you forget the pain they endured. They live on through you. Stevo had to find ways to cope and overall i think he’s displayed immense fortitude through all he’s accomplished.
My mom went through cemo and all with pancreatic cancer. It's been now four years and I still ain't over it by a long shot. To see the dearest and loving person to wither away and to change because of the disease was so fucking traumatizing that I just barely cope with it.
I can relate to you Steve... I'm sorry for you momma. We only get one right and to see them go like that?

Childhood friend got a severe headache and died in 2-3 hours (at the hospital) of a brain aneurysm at 22yo. Really sad but Steve-O’s description of his mom’s 5y ordeal makes me thankful my friend didn’t suffer a similar fate.
Love that he doesn't make excuses for Dunn or how he died. I'm sure it was painful but he's so painfully honest about it all.

Weirdly enough, I can relate to Steve-o a lot when he says “death in general, I can handle it without breaking down”. My father was murdered not one block away from where we lived while he was at work, & while devastating… it was my first time dealing with death & I came out it , changed but stronger. I grieved, we went through the legal proceedings, but I was able to keep it together for my mom and family. A lot how Steve-o describes it, I think we have similar takes and ways to handle death
15 years ago I would have never in a million years predicted that Steve-O could develop into such a mature and articulate interesting person. Kudos to him and all his recent success, I'm glad he pulled himself together so he can show the world exactly what he's capable of. I have a feeling he hasn't even scratched the surface yet.
One thing pure sobriety gives you is a brutal self-awareness and completely honesty with how you think, what you feel. I love Sober Steve!!

Yeah, I can remember when being sober seemed strange to me and I thought it wouldn't be any fun...now I look back at those dark days and it hurts to think about how much time I wasted chasing a buzz...but feels great knowing it's over. Almost seems like a whole different lifetime ago
@@wagstag89 everyday. The first year was tough, trying to remember who I was befire addiction took ahold of me. I am happy, content. I find joy watching my toddler grow and play. She gave me a sense of rejuvenation towards life again. To just take pleasure in the small things and not sweat shit I cannot change. It is like a whole new world once the fog of addiction has lifted. I am grateful and thankful for my sobriety everyday.

We picked up Ryans brother, a Navy SeAL, up and gave him a DV escort on emergency leave to the airport in Kuwait. It was a trip when he heard he passed and even crazier that his bro was deployed and headed home via our team. Glad to have been able to help him get home quickly for his brothers funeral. RIP Ryan
