I think this new format is great. Seeing how the hero should be played in multiple scenarios against different heroes is refreshing. You should definitely do more of this!
Ringmaster tip: if you start to channel your whip and then blink you can change the direction you fear the enemy in. Example you start your whip channel standing in front of the enemy and then blink behind them they will walk forward towards your original position.
@@winternitz_ hes just looking at it as an Everytime move. And yes if you blinking into the middle of a team your going to die and feed. But if you blink behind 3 enemy heros pushing your tier 2 forcing them I to tower range and drop you ult behind them well know your looking at a triple kill and you still have your escape box. Also blink on a support with a save is almost always good it allow you to back line and cast your long range spell and enter the fight quickly if you need to make a save or if you need to close the gap to finish off or slow a fleeing foe
Really like the clip format to show highlights of games! Would love some voiceover sometimes for a sense of context, coaching, and observations from you, but that definitely would be more work 😮
Thanks for the suggestion! I was trying to get this one out quickly since it's the new hero, but I could probably add more commentary for future videos that are less time sensitive
Zach, loving your content on youtube. Easily one of the best educational dota YT'ers rn maybe even the best. I don't get on twitch often so it was nice to extended cuts of your own gameplay here and I'm hoping you decide to show more of it on the channel. Thanks!
so you can use the whip to combo your ult a lot easier. ult behind the enemy and whip them to fear them into looking at the ult. its also great for premptive guessing that someone like enigma or faceless is gonna blink ult
Tbh at least in lower ranks he is pretty good at saving his team and surviving against most lineups. Glimmer and solar into rod are rather essential though. You can quite easily get kills in the lane and in the fights you can really matter with your ult especially when you have something to combo it with. Chasing enemies also works surprisingly well thanks to the daggers, just like dewarding. Although i wish they granted you vision onto the target for a tiny bit as chasing in the trees can still be kinda difficult because it’s hard to see where exactly you hit someone.
I actually like this video format. Short snippets of compilation for different POVs. Some pre game tips (like in order to pick a hero faster). From my POV of playing with and against Ringmaster, his Q (Tame the Beast) seems so slow even if you abrupt the channeling, but from how you played him, I realized that it was because the people that I am seeing is playing him wrong.. Good stuff!
Ringmaster combos very well with pretty much any AOE damage heros especially ults. The obvious is black hole but echo slam, macropyre, blastoff into mines, static Storm, whirlwind wind ranger ,Sven's God strength cleave damage, cold feet and ice blast, arena ( place it just past the edge of arena and the enemy will walk into the wall over and over ) , Phoenix egg. The list just keeps going his ult is a crazy good team fight ability
Very confused about funhouse mirror at first, but you have a lot of potential to bodyblock camp spawns, stack your own camps, send it to deny mid rune, or bodyblock a small passage enemies can't get through (think like planting a branch behind you as an enemy chases you). I also got to dodge a gleipnir with it and then cycled into whoopie to get away from people. Also E ended up being the most damaging spell by far but maybe I'm not landing very good Qs
Hey Zac can you make a video about lane harassment when and how to do it and how much should you do it, and what to do when you're subjected to heavy harassment in the laning phase. I searched and didn't find any guides on the topic.
4:38 It says "Ringmaster was chosen by both teams!", so normally I would assume that he gets banned (afaik that is the rule in All Pick). But as you see here (and I had similar experiences), he got locked in by the other guy, which is very strange. Or is this because he just got added?
In ranked games you both pick at the same time and you can lock a hero if you both pick it. In unranked you pick whenever you want and the first one to pick it gets it.
I cut this part out of the video, but new heroes are always unbannable for a short time so that Valve can get data on the hero. It's also a huge hype killer for a new hero to come out and then it's banned literally every game from people trying to pick it. It will go back to being bannable (including the double pick) usually within the week
on the format of this video, like a bunch of clips/highlights do give a good idea of how use his spells. shame you didn't get to show off his shard, hero seems absurd
Ive played this hero ranked 5 games ans won 4, He is easy to play and id say he is a nuker. Is first ability is very good vs creeps and damage can be increased if you veil of discord an opponent first. Normally it foes around 480dmg now it will do around 620 aoe with fear. That is flat damage before resistances etc. His 2nd skill is very good for escaping out of a bad scenario, but especially good on retreating allies or even someone duelling LC. His 3rd skill is a great harasser and last hitter for enemy heroes running away. I found him exceedingly good against pudge because of the fear effect and the harass. The fart i havent found really useful yet, more of an escape thing, or if you want to jump up a cliff. The str boost is very good on carrys to make them seemed higher health and gives a nice boost. The mirror image is great for lane push or harass, as well as tricking ults (esp. Good in Herald) his ulti requiredls the enemy to look at it, as it hypnotises them they walk to the middle and it explodes. This is very good with enigma blackhole, dark seer vacuum, and medusa stone gaze. Generally id say this hero is somewhat like AA atm. He is a good nuker and can scale to level 1 carry, but is generally not great late game. He should play as a mid or as a support.
I don't think lens is "situational". That's absolutely a core item. Even if it's just to get more range on your escape act. But no matter what he gets value out of it, plus all the mana
I tried this as an offlane, ended up being the best support in the game. This hero is busted... as a 4 and 5. Won the game but not having an offlane was harsh
The only thing I dislike with ringmaster is that you'll take a ton of damage from blademails reflecting the damage over time from your ult and E. I've never really seen this as an issue in the game but DoT procs reflecting is mindbendingly silly :D
Whatever people say, he's still a support, his kit yell support. Playing him well does not mean your team will win. You might land a few good ult early game but once the carry get bkb and countermeasure. The scale is off.
It could be a good late game pick up, but I don't see why it would be any better than Scythe on any other hero. Is there some extra synergy I didn't notice?
I re-watched the trailer after Ringmaster came out, and I think the hints at him being a micro hero are not super strong. Of course, hindsight after the hero comes out is going to be a lot more accurate than speculation a year before his release. I can understand folks being disappointed there isn't a new micro hero in the game, but I don't think his design feels rushed or bad to me. If Valve did scrap older versions of his abilites that were more focused on controlling enemy heroes, they did an excellent job of making the new kit not conflict with what was shown in the trailer. Only that line of dialogue in the trailer about heroes being easy to train suggests anything about micro to me, since the iron maiden device at the end doesn't really puppeteer Axe so much as it just restrains him. If you look at the flavor text of his abilities, plus how they function in-game, it appears that Ringmaster considers every hero in the match to be a part of the act already, either as assistants or unwilling volunteers from the audience. So it's plausible that in Dota lore Ringmaster has captured the other nine heroes to act in his circus in the matches he participates in. The wondrous wheel works about the same in-game as it did in the trailer, considering the trailer isn't actual Dota gameplay. When the big "Test Your Strength!" contraption wheels out in front of Axe in the forest, it seems designed to appeal to Axe's ego, thus luring him into the trap. From Ringmaster's lines in the trailer saying that heroes are easy to catch and are all egomaniacs, it's likely he could construct some kind of device or scheme to bait any hero into a trap if he wanted to catch them. I think the wondrous wheel is just the visual the devs settled on to communicate this design. I.e, connecting his gameplay to the trailer/lore, the wondrous wheel in the Dota world would be replaced by whatever trap Ringmaster thought would be irresistible to the hero(es) on the enemy team. For Axe that was a carnival hammer game, but in general it's visually approximated by a big goofy wheel. Anyway, that's just my opinion. I'm having fun with him and think his abilities and persona are cool. TL;DR is that disappointment is understandable and valid, but I wish people (mostly on reddit) would not go on about how Ringmaster's design sucks because they guessed wrong about what his kit would be.
Ring master is simply bad. uHis design feels way too unfinished, bland E and bland W. Has no damage, ult is useless and only ok skills literally his Q and his free items
