even more reason to be like "hey guys I think rosh is free, we should do that before hg" and then repeat that after every hg throw, and you'll win more games even if they don't always listen
then make the call yourself. you wont see your team consistently making good rosh calls til immortal. even high divine ignores it more than they should
People think that whatever that can make you die once without Roshan can still make you die twice with aegis, so they think it's useless. You respawn in the same place and they wait for you and then throw all they got on you to kill you twice in a row. Since people think it's not worth it, they only resort to Roshan as a last ditch effort, when all else fails.
As a herald, this is some REALLY good content. I wanna learn, but this game is hard to pick up as a first-time moba player. Fights are always so complicated, and I always feel lost. Thank goodness we have youtubers like you willing to break some of this stuff down. Please keep up the good content. Will keep learning from you!
You have an excellent commentary style, I just came back to dota after a few years and you've helped me a lot with basic strategy but also enthusiasm for my matches. I can always learn more even when I play poorly and lose games. Thank you!
Just hit guardian and I think this video was a big reason why---I find myself being a lot more careful about jumping into fights and being more strategic about high ground.
Great video, thanks for this! I'm glad you managed to check out my match. Even just that short bit in front of the t3 on top I could see a mistake on my part!
RE: Game 1, Kunkka can take high ground very efficiently with his Aghanim's upgrade. They had no BKBs, so the strategy would have been to just get on HG, cast Torrent Storm, get SS to double ult the tower while the enemy team takes a ride in the waterpark, pick off and disengage as the tower crumbles. Easy. That's one of Kunkka's biggest strengths right now, if you get aghs before their bkbs you automatically win any teamfight. The only hero who could tank it was primal beast. Also I think he should've went for more utility items like orchid (especially against am/wd)/bkb rather than damage but that's just me.
Anyone who is watching this - the best way to gain mmr is to play lobby games and play with higher mmr friends. You do become who you hang around with, same applies to life. The good old days of Dota 1 I played lobby game and I fed against a 25-0 terror blade and learnt from my mistakes from there, sooner than later I was the monster in the server doing this to the average pub player. I was calibrated immediately to top 10% mmr even though I did not play that much dota. Meanwhile, those playing in ranked believe they are supposedly doing the ‘right thing’ in their bracket, though this thought pattern will not help you excel to a higher rank. Ranked games is a sure way to hardwire your brain to stick to the same mmr. I enjoy the content on this channel, but he can only teach a few habits to break per video. Hope this helps. you talking about the windranger solo pickoff around 12 mins reminded me of the hazards of results-oriented thinking. You can't judge how optimal a play was solely based on the results. You can make a good play and still get punished, and you can make a bad play and not get punished.
In those cases, I think the idea is to at the very least stretch the situation instead of obsessing over if it's the right one or not. Is it correct to be killed on the enemy side of the map? Could be, but either way, it's SO important to make the absolute most of it: especially if you're going to feed a damn killstreak.
The problem with this WR is that she never turned it off and kept taking dumb risks. Her score was amazing. She was also pretty much the reason they lost, "let me farm a streak and keep feeding it to the AM"
What I learned in 55mins: - Every team fight is useless bc it never should’ve happened to begin with and there’s nothing to learn about what you actual do in the fights themselves- focus more on never fighting to begin with and always what your vision is and what ganks you can get so you can just win a 3v5 on HG even if you fight sloppy. Oh, and don’t forget to rosh.
Breaking high ground is my archon team’s biggest weakness, converting mid game leads to late game throws. In games like the second one you analyzed, is it better to try and keep the enemy pinned while you just farm two lanes and all jungle to increase your lead? Or is it a feasible strategy to ward, then let the lanes push back to tempt the enemy out of the base for pickoffs?
I already subscribe on your TH-cam channel when I saw your video of how should carry farm pattern. That video when you were analyzing the two brothers game (Ogre and Drow).
As a turbo rubick spammer (I will rush aghs pls don’t try and stop me). This doesn’t help too much but still the intricacies of Dota team fights are always cool to see explained.
I climbed from herald to Crusader in roughly 45 games. Almost all good games, even the losing ones. Now at Crusader it is chill. Slowly advancing, no major hurdles BUT farming tokens in turbo.... My god! I'm matched with guardians and Crusader and I have 17 losses and 1 win. I can even link you dotabuff if you don't believe me. Sure, timings are different. I know Turbo is not that interesting for most but there are ZERO tutorials for tactics on turbo. Last hitting is obviously more important. Also jungling has its place. At most games I straight out suck. I don't know what it is
Herald to crusader is about 1k mmr which equals go roughly 40 games. Climbing from herald to crusader in 45 games meaning you had to have something like 92% in those 45 games. Sounds very unlikely or you carried solo all the games and you are not suppose to be herald
dude is shitting us... maybe 145 games believable ... or mayeb dude was herald 4-5 to begin AND had a low rank confidence due to not playing ranked for long
@@amberswilddiaries2831Herald 5 to Crusader 1 is like 750 MMR, if he calibrated it's more than 25 MMR a win (35+), double down tokens are available too. With a 70% winrate and maybe a couple double downs it's very reasonable.
@@lovefrommana He said he went from herald to crusader, not recabilbrated. Even if we assume he was 770 MMR which is only 10 mmr shy from guardian. 70% win rate in 45 means you have won 31 games and that equals to roughly 17×25=425 MMR still far away from crusader. It is really impressive if he did, even with double mmr tokens, and I think he shouldn't have been there in the first place.
@@amberswilddiaries2831I didn't say recalibrated. He could have calibrated in Herald for the first time. If you calibrate, you are at 30% rank confidence and do not gain 25 MMR per win/loss, more like 35-40. If he won around 20 more matches than he lost at 35-40 MMR per win, that's around 700-800 MMR, assuming 0 double downs.
i feel like lower ranks do not see ahead of time with their teamfighting. I always have a vision in mind how givin fight turns out, beeing one step ahead of half of the battel.
When a teams is ahead with all their tier 1s towers like npc’s they defend every single push, no matter how far ahead they are it’s like an ego thing. But when you’re behind and know 3 or more will defend their tier 1 just about always, is a great way to split the enemy team and get a quick pick off once you’ve tp to another lane.
I second this: it's nothing else BUT ego. No one who discerns how fucking dangerous defending against the entire enemy team at TIER ONES would come to the decision to TP in and die: especially when you're ahead and likely could get a complimentary objective on your side instead.
Ego thing is not completely true my fri 😅. Make a habit of not giving up anything for free. Even if it was a t1, you punish those unless you are doing something better.
This happens bc most people play mobas/ARTS like they were CoD TDMs and not strategy games. The solo carry protag hype culture is also to blame. Everyone wants to be a star, nobody wants to play by the actual rules to win.
@@mojeanin tells me to stop doing the same mistakes I know I’m making but can’t help my self going high ground with no vision as I’m sure people are worse than me
If only this is a low mmr issue, I've seen 6k+ players do the same stupid sh*t. Not taking objectives, Rosh, Tormentor, diving for kills like idiots, not grouping up, not playing around wards... I honestly envy pros who climbed to top 100 playing only support, coz sometimes it just feels like supporting kids.

Even in my high archon low legend games it's basically required that you throw a hg fight before people will consider rs as an objective lol
