@@tobyhottle1578 it’s always a good idea to have a spare spark plug on hand too. My 2012 XR650L suddenly decided to become difficult to start immediately after I purchased it a few months back, and the battery went flat pretty quickly from trying to start it, so in went a brand new battery and the starting problem remained. I sought out a good mechanic to look at it as I am out of the country for a while and he sussed it out quick smart and threw a new spark plug into it and bingo, fires right up now. Just something I observed by looking at video of the bike cranking and running, the headlight was doing what I would call “strobing”, where it would pulse at low rpm, only noticeable through watching the video as to the naked eye it seemingly can’t be seen. After the new plug went in the “strobing” effect seems to have disappeared.
God damn, the tank rubbing on the fin... Jesus that's a recipe for disaster. Good to see it running. Still much work to do, meaning still many videos to come! 👍
I really like the way you tank graphics fit. Where did you get those. I really enjoy you journey with this bike and the way you put together your videos. Thank you. Life is good
@ thank you for that. I realised what the head was after I posted my comment. They’re hard to get those heads. I may get one myself through XR’s Only, if they still make them. Their site says they make them to order. I also have a brand new IMS 4.0 gallon tank awaiting fitment. I have a new NICECNC oil cooler going on it in a few weeks. I subscribed to your channel because you’re providing good information. Regards to you.
Awesome!! Really cool that it cranked right up, from what I could tell it sounded pretty good.
Everything seems solid so far!
nice work!!
Thanks! 🤜🏻🤛🏻
Always cool to see the bike up -n- running........ it does motivate. See ya next time. peace

From my experiences that CDI will leave you stranded. Better replace it soon and carry an extra one . great video
Not a bad idea! It’s definitely on the list 👍🏻

Thanks Ryan! The XR650L is a wheelie, wheelie fun bike. I wish I still had my 07 but I do love my CRF450RL. God bless!
450RL is a great bike! Thanks for checking out the video 👍🏻

Haha no kidding! It’ll get fixed 👍🏻

Thanks for the kind words, Rick! I’m currently searching for new tank graphics. We’ll see what I can find!
I’ve always heard tank graphics on a plastic tank will bubble up from gas fumes. Unless, they are making them better now adays
@@jables2845 I’ve had that experience and these are bubbling as well. Might just go all white plastic and keep it simple
Is that cylinder head standard?
Looks wider/fatter than standard.
@@rosshanley8398 it is not. It has a “big fin” head. Which is great, but has created some clearance issues with the clutch cable and IMS fuel tank
@ thank you for that.

xr's only. I had to zoom in. sorry.
My xr650l has the same big ugly plastic gas tank I’m thinking about buying a set of graffics for it but all the ones on line are not shown on a bike?
@@andyderby150 I’ve had a challenging time finding decent graphics for this IMS tank. If I find anything decent I’ll let you know
