Thanks, you just showed me why not to buy this. For $336.00 it needs to be correct when it comes out of the box. I am not modifying my bike just to make this fit!!!!!!
Yeah it is kind of stupid that it won’t fit perfect. After the install I will say it is very nice not worrying if I run out of gas when I’m on a long trail especially if I’m exploring and don’t know how long it will take to get out of the trail.
The IMS 4.0 gallon tank fits better. It uses the stock rubber mounts. I have one on my 2022.
Yeah I looked into that one but I wanted a little more in mileage for long trips. 🤘🏼🔥
The IMS tank has slots made in the tank for the rubber mounts I put a little bit of grease in the slots and it went on just let the stock tank.
Yeah you would think that it wouldn’t take much to have this tank molded better. Oh well it’s on now 😂
These tanks are a @#&%! to install. I used a rachet strap to pull it down to where I could put the bolts through.
Yes they are, as you could see I struggled for sure but I love it now. No concern in running out of gas when I’m making new trails and no destination. 🤘🏼🔥
The biggest problem I'm having is the rubber mounting pieces on each side it's almost as if I should just cut those off. Only thing is I won't have anything to mount the old tank back on if I ever need to or sell it
Not sure if you watched my whole video but I showed that I cut half of the metal out that the rubber piece is hanging on which made it much easier for me and if you decided to go back with a stock tank it will still work.
@CoyoteChris I watched the video a few times..ha ha. I appreciate your work. So basically these tanks need to stretch out a couple inches
@user-zt6tm9lm2y 🤣 yeah pretty much. Putting heat to it was the best decision I made. 🤘🏼
Would you use any type of sealer on the peacock mount? That part seams a little wonky?
I honestly looked at it and considered putting something extra on them but I just ran them with what they came with and have zero leaks.
Got it done finally. Thanks for your help. Have you done the smog delete? I have a 2003 I'm doing. Getting mixed info in what to plug
Your welcome and yes I’ve done the smog delete. 👍🏼
@CoyoteChris I have a 2003 and the carb is different. Not as many hoses. Your know anything on that?
@user-zt6tm9lm2y as far as I know they are the same carbs.
