You should get an off road pipe, new clutch and flywheel, big brake kit, 67mm throttle body, CFM short throw adjustable shifter, tubular control arms, CAI, catback exhaust, wider tires, and a tune. These are the best for your money performance modifications for this car. (And a quaife differential but nobody has money for that 😂)

I had a sliver svt foucs back in high school and man was it the most fun car ever. It feels planted on the road despite the weight i have curves in my backroads and those really showed what the svt had. Too bad it got to hard to fix so i had to sell it.
I already thought you were cool, but then you safety wired your headlights like a boss! I'm a retired USAF 462/2W1 and safety wire was a way of life in my career field. Mad props yo! #safetywireallthethings
Sarah an old timer Mechanic at the winery told me and showed me how to use a seam ripper that you use for fabrics on electrical wire insulators and it works great especially when you have multiple wires and like a harness with that hard plastic wrap this thing just rips right through the insulation!
SVT Focus. The American RS of 2003. That car has all kinds of potential.
Actually is the American ST. The RS has a turbo.
I too learned about that in the Air Force. They make safety wire pliers that spin on their own and make it much easier and a better install. Im sure there not that expensive either. Always great to have.

Hey Sarah love your videos, going to miss little Sarah she’s an amazing friend.
For a quick and easy electrical terminal boot, you can put a longer piece of heatshrink on there and shrink it down over the whole terminal with a nut/bolt in place, then cut away the backside down to the point you want it to hing at. After a couple practice ones, you'll end up with nice form fit boots that will almost snap into place.
You are making progress on your cars. You mentioned a vinyl wrap for the focus. I just wrapped my car. First time to ever wrap anything and she came out really well.
"Backyard built" you should try to trademark that phrase because that's pure gold. 👍

I love the ending. You could make a video of both Sarahs eating food, and it would be video worthy.
A lot of clutch safety switches have little rubber caps that wear down or come off over time. May be why you have to press it in so hard. Could also disable the switch, since it is a race car!
Disabling the switch also causes less wear on the crank thrust bearings, since you're not endloading the crank on start ups.
@@rennkafer13 Yep. Just did it in my GSX which is classic. Haven't heard of it being an issue with many Toyota engines, but it can't hurt. :)
@@802Garage I don't know that it's a particular issue with the 2 liter in the Focus, but not putting pressure on the thrust bearing when it's not being lubed can't hurt.

Linen flavor Lysol spray does a great job of killing AC cooties. Spray it in the vent outside by the wipers with the fan on high. Half a can should do.

I love those cars and bought my wife three of them, silver (my favorite and the fastest), black and then a blue one like yours. We sold the blue one with 108,000 miles for $8K. Not just were they quick, but they handled very well.

Sarah you are hilarious!! You definitely need a crew and garage. Maybe talk to some performance places in the area and see if they would like to be in your videos. If that doesn't work, then still do what you do as I am not only learning but being entertained at the same time!!
I know it's not a massive thing as it's for off-road but you should check your headights are eu spec and not UK spec, LHD/RHD headlights face opposite directions 👍

This would be a good car to learn welding on. Obviously not the cage because spec life, but maybe like seam welding the body, strut supports, and adding gussets. Plus you know you’re gonna tear some stuff up and will need to weld it back together.

About the dry ice - if you will use a small foam cooler, like the one you put 6-packs in, you can get it home without evaporating. Some 7-11's sell them for $1.

For Ford Focus pushing the clutch all the way down for starting the vehicle is a safety feature.
When you put the cage in, have the welder weld a 3/8" bolt (without the head) on to the cage support in the rear for the negative post. Will work better than a body mount. Do the same up front for good grounds for the ECU and other harness grounds.
David Zimmer I don’t have anyone to make a cage, it might not happen unless a company sponsors one.
@@SarahnTuned Okay. I'll check around on Yellowbullet and see who's local. A simple cage is easy. Just need to find the SFI spec for that type and get it done. I'll check back in a few days.

Working on my Rally car too. Bought it off a guy on Craycroft, every time I work on something I find more issues. Doubt I will make the 10 August night run in Tucson. Air hammer the sound deadening, Harbor Freight -12 bucks. Took 18 pounds out of my outback rally project. Need to ask Owen what he would charge for a cage, he just welded one into my sons drift car last week.
If you move to south california, I am always free to help with projects. I do them already, but I cant do the camera thing. Kuddos for you for doing both at the same time.
My buddies and I are a lil young (17 and 18) but we have pulled over 12 engines and rebuild a transmission in the driveway with hand tools. We can pull it. In Utah though. (Also I drive a 5 speed zx5)

I was making a wire harness for a projector control just as you said "I love making wires." Love your videos!
So...a suggestion. Might want to see if you can't jump the stupid clutch kill switch. If I remember correctly, Ford/Mazda shared a switch for the starter to engage, jump it and start it with the key.👊
