All I’ve had up to now is a tiny SDR radio and when my RF919 turned up on Monday and I’m listening to Voice Of America half an hour later it blew my mind and everything I’ve picked up in the past two days has been absolutely fantastic. My wife who bought it for me was blown away by air Air Band as she like myself love everything aircraft related and being as we live close to an airport it’s also amazing for that and the equaliser works beautifully
Glad you like the radio. I think the great audio helps as some strong SW broadcast stations sound almost like FM. Hopefully they will reduce or fix the muting issue.
That change is quite significant! Never doubt your instincts Fred, you have a fine channel... allways... as soon as I see you posted a video, you bet I watch. Such a friendly voice...
Just got mine a few weeks ago. Very nice. Worth the money. Still trying to figure out how to type in frequencies by number, without scanning and trying to remember the channel number.
Well some people Fred, they just need to read the booklet or just at least sort it out properly before putting it out there. Anyway mate always a pleasure, and still no skip rolling in yet. Take care of yourself and yours Alan 26 CT48/70. 73s 💯👍
Freddie those shortwave radio's do not stay on frequency. The frequency jump all over the place also when scanning frequencies the have a heavy chugging. Except for that they are a great little radio. Nice to see the all new WTWW world wide prepper station owned my WWCR. WTWW is now WRMI.
Isn't that supposed to happen when you're scanning frequencies? It will keep switching between the frequencies and temporarily stop when it receives a signal.
I bought mine a while ago, before they gave you the plug in rotatable antenna. It does mute on tuning, but I now understand there is a firmware update through the micro sd card download. Dan Robinson in his video stated it bricked his receiver. 😊 73 de W2CH Ray New Hampshire and NY with the W2NYW PCARA Club, Charter Member with my wife, Marylyn, KC2NKU. 😊
@CB-RADIO-UK Hi Fred, enjoy your channel, being interested in SSB CB and being a US Extra Class Amateur, now licensed 62 years since High School, being now 80. My wife is 81, and a General Class amateur for 20 years. I came from being born in London, UK, in 1944, to NY City in 1949 on the Queen Mary, and was back to visit with my parents in 1979, and my wife in 2013. Anyway, yes I I know about the 1.706 firmware update, but have not installed it yet. I know the muting these days in a new receiver is ridiculous 🙄. Cheers, Ray W2CH and Marylyn KC2NKU.
@CB-RADIO-UK Thanks 😊 My wife and I were out on Holiday to California in Jan. 2008. We did tour the Queen Mary at dock in Long Beach, and I stood on the deck where I was in 1949. We also had the Ghost tour on it too, but did not stay at the Hotel there, where I guess they use the cabins for guests like we stayed in on our voyage in cabin class back then. We saw the Amateur station W6RO on deck, however, it was not open with an Amateur operator on our visit to see it in operation. Cheers, Ray and Marylyn.
Not sure I get this -- why would CW be located in EQ? EQ refers to audio chaping, not mode. CW stands for Continuous Wave and is a mode. If it's in EQ it could be referring to C&W as in Country & Western -- which would be strange. Anyway, your video does not appear to show CW except for a split second.

You need a PhD in Hamn radio to use it. I haven't tinkered with it so much. You need a PhD to get through the manual. Sort of over my head, Whoops! I can turn it on and off, it picks up well without antenna in house. Totally useless in concrete building at grocery sore, pretty loud speaker.
Hmm excellent. I've just purchased one direct and with the two discounts total for me was £146.69 !

Its an audio parameter filter to enhance morse code reception
Is there a way of switching mode on UHF from NFM to AM for military airband?
Do you think you will ever review the Malahit DSP2 ?
Maybe if it becomes cheaper over time. Its a bit top end for my channel at the moment.
