Not quite true. The government sends invoices to its customers. Called tax bills. Once you pay that bill it is their money. Not taxpayers. If you pay 100 dollars to Walmart they own the money you used.
We have 100% electric city buses. Virtually fail proof. 12 hour shifts in a city of 4.3 million. And our air in Montreal is getting cleaner by 2% a year.

I'll take my gasoline vehicle. Pump and go an no waiting for charge
Great for you. My MYLR2020 gets 250 miles to meet my daily per day needs. Fully charge the beginning of the day and charge overnight. EVs aren't for everyone, but if it meets your daily needs, it is great. The techs are great, too. AP is useful in Atlanta hwy traffics, think of it the better version of Adaptive Cruise Control. Our 2nd MYLR has FSD so it's used more for state to state travels.
and pay twice as much... and maybe more as time goes on.... plus oil changes, timing belts, air filters, oil filters, coolant flushes, exhaust leaks, and waiting for the engine to warm up in the winter... no thanks.
oh I forgot, spark plugs, fuel injectors, carbon buildup, leaking valve seats, cylinder wear, blowby, PCV valves, evap leaks and codes, transmission fluid and leaks, head gaskets, oil leaks...
You forgot having to push your EV to find a working charging station in cold weather. Great that 60% of electricity is generated by fossil fuels, and the battery components are made of highly toxic material that needs to be disposed.
Pat yourself on the back for doing nothing to reduce greenhouse gases.

Guess I should keep my 1999 Yukon ,the only bad side to it is the gas mileage I have owed it for 25 years the ride is so good !
So $130.000 to go 450 miles .. now that’s value
People need to "have something to do while the car recharges". If that industry would develop, someone would get filthy rich. As opposed to being like me, closer to squeaky clean and still hustling.
I'd rather be a lot closer to the goal of $450 to go 130,000 miles...out of the question with an EV.
Especially when it's 500 miles to the next charging station that would work with it.

Toronto wanted to start ordering electric buses, but smartly decided to get a few from three different brands (one of which was Proterra) so that they could assess which ones would be the best over multiple years. I think it’s safe to say that they will not be choosing Proterra!
Indeed a car with manual transmission will be more reliable and will cost less than an EV in long run. And easy to fix it.
We just need nuclear cars or somebody to invent fusion cores! 😂
siemens is at least half funded with tax dollars
Scottie, Mr Pete on TH-cam has a video about wind turbines in Illinois that were put up in corn fields just a few years ago and now they are using detcord to drop them on the ground and put up now one's. The soil compaction of these things slamming into the ground and the heavy roads needed to get them out there are making the corn fields useless. You should check it out.
The engineering problems with wind power and EV makes me fear for new nuclear power plants. Companies will be cutting corners left and right in planning and construction. Years ago nuclear power plants were well built in USA.
Sure those wind turbines aren't made by Boeing?
Like the one spaceship that is stuck in space?
Price ...WTF 🤪
We had the 2000 model Escalade in the past but never buying another one.
Who would ever buy one of these giant hulk EV cars? A person would have to be nuts!
Brandon voters
Only the dim still buy gas cars.
The "old" windmill looks better than than "new" ones that are always broken!
The problem with nuclear power is that the fuel for them is also not available in unlimited amounts. The more nuclear power plants we build, the faster we'll use the fuel for them and we'll be looking at renewable power sources again like wind, solar and hydro. Meanwhile, there are areas of the country where they are pushing to remove hydro-power dams. The answer is using a combination of all sources and looking for more. Conservation is also a very viable option.

I'm in favor of wood for running some Victorian-era steam locomotive for your summer vacation, or morning commute somewhere. Let Amtrak run a train or two using wood they found growing next to critical infrastructure, and give the timber industry a boost for a while. For a daily driver around town, one of those might be OK particularly if you plug it in say when you get home at 6pm and you leave it plugged in over night (this is after you get the 220V charger of course). For some people 400-ish miles may enough for 1-2 weeks if they just drive around town, so to some, it MIGHT make sense but the price of the vehicle alone would drive me away. I mean for that you could probably get 3 or 4 Tesla Model 3's. But in reality, Scotty does make 13-14 hours sound really bad. It's not really as long as you don't wear the battery down every day or every few days. If you charge it once a week and only drive 400 milese a week, it could make sense (but again, not the price or the extra money on a 220V charger).
$130k for a 'daily driver' no thanks
Also there were stories of the Hummer EV (which this is closely related to) that would drain the battery even when it was plugged in to L1 charging (1500w) because it would constantly 'condition' the battery. Now imagine your power bill having 1500W running all the time and doing NOTHING.

They may be bankrupt but the Big Guy still got his 10%.
You forgot one very important point: what will you do when the nuclear plants run out because they're too old and not safe anymore?
Deconstruction of a nuke creates huge amounts of highly radiant trash which cannot be recycled and takes ten thousands of years to lose radiation - btw. it costs BILLIONS to deconstruct a plant, therefore IT IS NOT CHEAP ENERGY in the long run. It's true that nukes create electric energy over around 50-60 years but we're about to witness the consequences of old nukes e.g. in France where they try to keep up nukes at all costs. It turned to a giant economical disaster, not to speak about enviromental issues. There's not only one truth, we need a mixture of nuclear, wind, sun, water etc. plants to solve this problem.
