      Hey Les, i'm in my 50's and industrial arts was a part of my schooling, as was a stint in home economics, General math which was considered lesser than algebra actually taught us useful stuff like doing your taxes amongst other things, we had welding, autobody, woodworking... etc...etc... Real skills that build the world and infrastructure all around us, Just wanted to post a positive reply, the youth now a days don't have any values or skills that are useful, they all think they are special and hard labour is distasteful, teachers have really failed our youth, thinking the world revolves around those that push pencils has lead to the general state of our societies in the west. every civilization collapses i suppose, when no one builds these things and instead we have mobs of spoiled brats burning the streets down, one can see the end is near. Andrew is a breath of fresh air, someone that works hard, he doesn't fit in now though, a lot of us don't.

    Love my EX 150 , been a great machine, it's a 1998 and never leaked a drop of Hyd oil anywhere till last year, one seal on one lift cylinder leaking a touch, and had the travel valve body under the main body, rebuilt. But mufflers need to be covered so rain doesn't collect in them when not used for a bit. Great job on finding the muffler, price was so much better that from a dealer, Thanks so much. Great video,👍👍👍👍

    Andrew, I have a 97 KW T-600 w/ 525hp Cummins. In 2000 I bought a new muffler that was guaranteed to last for life, it’s still on the truck like new. That muffler has 2million miles on it. You video just reminded me of it. ChiefD

    I have a JCB JZ 70 that I use around the farm. While I was taking some willow trees for a neighbor it started loosing power on the last tree. By the time I got it to the trailer it would just barely climb the ramps. It turned out that the muffler had come apart inside blocking the exhaust. It took over three weeks to get a muffler from England. I’m glad that I wasn’t depending on to put food on the table. Great videos, keep up the good work!

    I've watched this guy half a dozen times or so and if everyone had his work ethic we could eliminate almost all the problems within this country! Notice he doesn't have an $80k pickup and a million dollars worth of equipment. One of my friends has a business installing septic systems. He has about a 20 year old Ford backhoe that he took all the glass out of since it didn't have a/c or heat and leases a 1845 Case front loader. Never buys a new truck and said he has run over a million dollars through the hoe minus the lease but it still makes him money.

      He bit the bullet, maybe $350 in parts, oil, grease. No different than me spending maybe $400 this year to keep my excavator going. Paid for equipment can sit until you need it and it doesn't cost you $ every month.

    • @3069mark
      @3069mark 5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @PS 400 -- People who buy the new expensive stuff have to work hard to pay for them, and the repairs on them when they break down, and they probably charge a lot more for a job than Andrew does because they have to in order to pay for their expensive equipment, and so their customers are the ones actually paying for that new equipment. My hat goes off to Andrew and his way of doing things. It doesn't matter what industry you look at, when a man is first starting out they almost always starts with used equipment, whether it be contractors, farmers, truckers, etc. Then, when they get established and have the business built up and enough in the bank they can think about buying a new piece of equipment, but the smart thing is to not go head over heels in debt before then. Andrew is the smart one here, and he is not afraid of hard work either.

    i enjoy your accomplishments.
    thought i'd give you a suggestion, for when you change oil/fuel filters.
    removing the filter, after breaking the seal. put a plastic bag over the filter to catch the oil that comes out of the filter housing... i use a plastic bag from a loaf of bread... pour the extra oil into your catch can. then just put a loop on the open end, making a half knot. sealing the oil from making a mess. put the bag and filter in a bucket for disposal.
    i use a sharpie, putting the date and engine hours on the filter. smear fresh oil on the new filters gasket, then add some fuel/oil in the filter before installing. only if it can be installed without tipping it sideways.

    Andrew DOn't know if you know this but a lot of times you can get a computer chip for those on demand hot water heaters which will allow you to up the temperature much higher than factory settings. I have a Rheem and I bought the chip for mine. The higher the temp tho, the slower the water is because it takes a little longer to heat. It depends on what you want to use the water for. They come with residential chip. The other is called a commercial chip.

    How's the pressure washer holding up with hot water? I think most little ones like that say not to use hot water with them but I have considered doing the same as you. Just wondering if you noticed it hurt anything.

    I’m a retired mechanic for fun I used to buy old machines refurb them like rip out the shitty old engine and replace it with a brand new one not even the same model what ever I could find at the best price and horsepower. Match it up to the pump and engine mounts sometime a little custom fab a rebuilt hydraulic pump so the new owner wasn’t dancing disco with his arms in the cab and resell them for a small but good profit..it was fun why I stopped who knows maybe it wasn’t a challenge anymore

    Andrew you are a really nice guy. You worry when the trolls bad mouth welding or concrete. Don’t worry brother! They sit at home watching You Tube and have never turned a wrench, held a welding rod, or poured a yard of concrete. You are fine!!
    They are jealous of your all around skills!!

    Do the larger excavators like this not have a front grading blade? Just noticed this one didn’t, just curious. Thanks for all the work that goes into making these videos, appreciate ya

    so literally did most of the same work on mine last week... hoses and muffler... anyway, I have a ex120-2 which is largely the same except hp and weight... however it does seem to be running the same controls, and there is a row of buttons on the bottom that have some sort of hieroglyphs, was curious if you had any idea what any of them mean? I kinda figured it has something to do with power control but? I is dumb and not a great operator so I just sort of guess.

    At five 5:57 seconds it look like right after you installed the throttle cable there was a loose jam nut next to that elbow connection. I can only assume you left it loose to adjust the linkage.

    Hey I'm not too knowledgeable about excavators but I would check those bottoms rollers on the track soon I has the same situation where they seize up a little bit and then 3 roller bearings broke....500$ down the drain and I had to install new ones

    • @AndrewCamarata
      @AndrewCamarata  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Usually the bearings blow out of them before they seize up.
