definitely worth the upgrade in my opinion. when you fit and test the sticks you can tell the quality improvement over the stock sticks. they sit a tiny bit lower than the stock sticks do, which feels much better to me and they feel firm/strong/accurate. The stock analog sticks are good but the gulikit sticks are better

Hey! Do these joysticks have a rectangular or a circular deadzone? You didn't mention this in the video. Stock ones have a circular deadzone, while older versions of Gulikit sticks have a square one.
Another good video, i mainly play first person shooters and on some games especially battlebit i resllt seemed to struugle and im sure these would help
@@Deckster978 I'm playing a LOT of xdefiant after following your tutorial and so far I don't seem to notice any issues with the standard joy sticks but every other FPS iv played I have noticed issues, combat master was another game I didn't notice any problems
You can also just calibrate them in Software using Terminal with the thumbstick_cal command in Desktop mode. Much less tedious than doing it with the button.

the deadzone change is just a nice quality of life change and I personally want to keep my oled deck for a while so knowing I wont have to deal with stick drift is something thats well worth the $30 and 30 minute install.
@@cinder6557Biggest reason for it right there. Hall effect sticks will never develope drift because they phyaically Can't go bad short of well... Them shorting out some how. I have a flightstick from the 90's that uses a Hall effect sensor and the plastic is likely going to become brittle and fail before it does.
The cutout in the middle circle on your steam deck actually makes the cooling of internet parts worse. Reduces air intake on the vents means hotter motherboard. You should consider sealing it.

@@LaymanGamin they're not identical, they feel different to the stock sticks, but yes i agree the stock sticks are fine. i prefer the gulikit sticks
For me, I would just use the stock sticks until they're broken or drifting and then get new sticks.

Game changing ? Mine are fine maybe as a replacement for broken ones if they ever break .
It's very subjective in my opinion, I had a friend test them and they didn't notice the deadzone difference, but for me it's quite a big upgrade :D
It's only game changing when your current Joysticks broke. Otherwise, stock is fine.

Having them is significantly better then not when it decides to go out of stock everywhere. And then you regret not getting them.
