The biggest issue with the gulikit hall effect sticks is the square outer deadzone, do these ones also have the same issue? Would be nice to see a comparison
@@AishTalksTech what makes you say that a square outer zone is what we want? Wouldn't it reach 100% input value before reaching the edges of the joystick for diagonal inputs?
@@AishTalksTech oh interesting I wasn't aware. Although the stock joysticks have a circular deadzone so I imagine the device being optimised as such. I just tested my Xbox controller on pc and it also has a circular zone 🤷
@@Kazoid73 did you go on gamepad tester ? xbox controllers usually draw a square outside of the cicle, from what ive read everything past the cicle is considered 100% input. I think The phawx has a whole video on this.
@@AishTalksTech did you ever get around to using them? I have the gullikit for oled and kind of dislike them, ordered this pair and waiting to see if I prefer them.
What do you think, are you going to be picking some up ?
Woop woop! Aish is back, let's gooooo!!
It took too long 😆
But hopefully things run smoothly from now on.
Perfect as usual! Look forward to your new review😍😍
Thank you I appreciate the support 😁
Oooh, juicy. It looks scary to replace them. Really glad that this is an option for when my sticks start to go
It's really easy to do, pretty much just replace remove a few screws and press a couple buttons
Gonna wait for reviews of both this and the upcoming Gulikit ones.
I'm waiting on the gulikit one but I'll have a video up as soon as I get them.
Nice ! Thanks Aish 🙂
Tech isn’t being talked, it’s being done
That's like poetry man
Are the caps swappable? I see a wire up in there. Wasn't sure
Not unless you're comfortable soldering new ones
i am confused how they say it is first while Gulikit Hall Effect has been available for sometime?
I think they announced it first for the oled deck but gulikit beat them to retail
I have the LE OLED. Do you know if it would be possible to keep my orange thumb sticks and slap them onto one of these models?
You would have to switch the caps and solder the cable for the capacitive touch

I'm waiting on a set of gulikit sticks to compare, these also register in a square but that's what you want.
@@AishTalksTech what makes you say that a square outer zone is what we want? Wouldn't it reach 100% input value before reaching the edges of the joystick for diagonal inputs?
@@Kazoid73 because most controllers if not all are made with a square input area so games are developed with that in mind.

I think your right analog is not centered
I had to go back and redo it but I figured that would just extend the video for no real reason.
Is it possible to replace the caps with the original ones? I have the limited edition oled so I want to preserve those orange caps if possible
Unfortunately I'm not sure but once I have the retail versions I'll be sure to post an update.
So, the GuliKit hall effect steamdeck sticks don't work on the OLED model?
The current ones no, but from what I understand they're working on some.

is it compatible with SD lcd version?
Unfortunately these are not but there are other options on the website for the regular steam deck
